1. മോശെ ഒരു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീനിമിത്തം മിര്യ്യാമും അഹരോനും അവന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചു

1. Miriam and Aaron began to say bad things about Moses. That's because Moses had married a woman from Cush.

2. യഹോവ മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം മാത്രമേ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളുവോ? ഞങ്ങള് മുഖാന്തരവും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യഹോവ അതു കേട്ടു.

2. Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?' they asked. 'Hasn't he also spoken through us?' The Lord heard what they said.

3. മോശെ എന്ന പുരുഷനോ ഭൂതലത്തില് ഉള്ള സകലമനുഷ്യരിലും അതിസൌമ്യനായിരുന്നു.

3. Moses wasn't very proud at all. In fact, he had less pride than anyone else on the face of the earth.

4. പെട്ടെന്നു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും മിര്യ്യാമിനോടുംനിങ്ങള് മൂവരും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിങ്കല് വരുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവര് മൂവരും ചെന്നു.

4. The Lord spoke to Moses, Aaron and Miriam. He said, 'All three of you, come out to the Tent of Meeting.' So they did.

5. യഹോവ മേഘസ്തംഭത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് നിന്നു അഹരോനെയും മിര്യ്യാമിനെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് ഇരുവരും അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു.

5. Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud. He stood at the entrance to the tent. And he told Aaron and Miriam to come to him. Both of them stepped forward.

6. പിന്നെ അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഎന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് യഹോവയായ ഞാന് അവന്നു ദര്ശനത്തില് എന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും സ്വപ്നത്തില് അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും ചെയ്യും.

6. Then the Lord said, 'Listen to my words. 'Suppose one of my prophets is among you. I make myself known to him in visions. I speak to him in dreams.

7. എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോ അങ്ങനെയല്ല; അവന് എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തില് ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു.

7. But that is not true of my servant Moses. He is faithful in everything he does in my house.

8. അവനോടു ഞാന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു മറപൊരുളായിട്ടല്ല അഭിമുഖമായിട്ടും സ്പഷ്ടമായിട്ടും അത്രേ; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ രൂപം കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെക്കു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിപ്പാന് ശങ്കിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

8. With Moses I speak face to face. I speak with him clearly. I do not speak in riddles. I let him see something of what I look like. So why were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?'

9. യഹോവയുടെ കോപം അവരുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു അവന് മറഞ്ഞു.

9. The anger of the Lord burned against them. And he left them.

10. മേഘവും കൂടാരത്തിന്മേല് നിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോയി. മിര്യ്യാം ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുത്തു കുഷ്ഠരോഗിണിയായി; അഹരോന് മിര്യ്യാമിനെ നോക്കിയപ്പോള് അവള് കുഷ്ടരോഗിണി എന്നു കണ്ടു.

10. When the cloud went up from above the tent, there stood Miriam. She had a disease that made her skin as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her. He saw that she had a skin disease.

11. അഹരോന് മോശെയോടുഅയ്യോ യജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങള് ഭോഷത്വമായി ചെയ്തുപോയ ഈ പാപം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേല് വെക്കരുതേ.

11. So he said to Moses, 'We have committed a very foolish sin. Please don't hold it against us.

12. അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മാംസം പകുതി അഴുകിയിരിക്കുന്ന ചാപിള്ളയെപ്പോലെ ഇവള് ആകരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. Don't let Miriam be like a baby that was born dead. Don't let her look like a dead baby whose body is half eaten away.'

13. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയോടുദൈവമേ, അവളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

13. So Moses cried out to the Lord. He said, 'God, please heal her!'

14. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഅവളുടെ അപ്പന് അവളുടെ മുഖത്തു തുപ്പിയെങ്കില് അവള് ഏഴുദിവസം ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയില്ലയോ? അവളെ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തേക്കു പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു അടെച്ചിടേണം; പിന്നത്തേതില് അവളെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

14. The Lord answered Moses. He said, 'Suppose her father had spit in her face. Then she would have been put to shame for seven days. So keep her outside the camp for seven days. After that, you can bring her back.'

15. ഇങ്ങനെ മിര്യ്യാമിനെ ഏഴു ദിവസം പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ആക്കി അടെച്ചിട്ടു; അവളെ വീണ്ടും അംഗീകരിച്ചതുവരെ ജനം യാത്ര ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നു.

15. So Miriam was kept outside the camp for seven days. The people didn't move on until she was brought back.

16. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ജനം ഹസേരോത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പാരാന് മരുഭൂമിയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

16. After that, the people left Hazeroth. They camped in the Desert of Paran.
