1. മോശെ ഒരു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീനിമിത്തം മിര്യ്യാമും അഹരോനും അവന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചു

1. And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of the Ethiopian woman whom Moses took; for he had taken an Ethiopian woman.

2. യഹോവ മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം മാത്രമേ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളുവോ? ഞങ്ങള് മുഖാന്തരവും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യഹോവ അതു കേട്ടു.

2. And they said, Has the Lord spoken to Moses only? Has He not also spoken to us? And the Lord heard it.

3. മോശെ എന്ന പുരുഷനോ ഭൂതലത്തില് ഉള്ള സകലമനുഷ്യരിലും അതിസൌമ്യനായിരുന്നു.

3. And the man Moses was very meek beyond all the men that were upon the earth.

4. പെട്ടെന്നു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും മിര്യ്യാമിനോടുംനിങ്ങള് മൂവരും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിങ്കല് വരുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവര് മൂവരും ചെന്നു.

4. And the Lord said immediately to Moses and Aaron and Miriam, Come forth all three of you to the tabernacle of witness.

5. യഹോവ മേഘസ്തംഭത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് നിന്നു അഹരോനെയും മിര്യ്യാമിനെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് ഇരുവരും അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു.

5. And the three came forth to the tabernacle of witness; and the Lord descended in a pillar of a cloud, and stood at the door of the tabernacle of witness; and Aaron and Miriam were called; and both came forth.

6. പിന്നെ അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഎന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് യഹോവയായ ഞാന് അവന്നു ദര്ശനത്തില് എന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും സ്വപ്നത്തില് അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും ചെയ്യും.

6. And He said to them, Hear My words: If there should be a prophet among you of the Lord, I will be made known to him in a vision, and in sleep will I speak to him.

7. എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോ അങ്ങനെയല്ല; അവന് എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തില് ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു.

7. My servant Moses [is] not so; he is faithful in all My house.

8. അവനോടു ഞാന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു മറപൊരുളായിട്ടല്ല അഭിമുഖമായിട്ടും സ്പഷ്ടമായിട്ടും അത്രേ; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ രൂപം കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെക്കു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിപ്പാന് ശങ്കിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

8. I will speak plainly to him, mouth to mouth, and not in dark speeches; and he has seen the glory of the Lord; and why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?

9. യഹോവയുടെ കോപം അവരുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു അവന് മറഞ്ഞു.

9. And the great anger of the Lord [was] upon them, and He departed.

10. മേഘവും കൂടാരത്തിന്മേല് നിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോയി. മിര്യ്യാം ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുത്തു കുഷ്ഠരോഗിണിയായി; അഹരോന് മിര്യ്യാമിനെ നോക്കിയപ്പോള് അവള് കുഷ്ടരോഗിണി എന്നു കണ്ടു.

10. And the cloud departed from the tabernacle. And behold, Miriam became leprous, [white] as snow; and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and behold, she [was] leprous.

11. അഹരോന് മോശെയോടുഅയ്യോ യജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങള് ഭോഷത്വമായി ചെയ്തുപോയ ഈ പാപം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേല് വെക്കരുതേ.

11. And Aaron said to Moses, I beseech you, my lord, do not lay [this] sin upon us, for we were ignorant in which we have sinned.

12. അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മാംസം പകുതി അഴുകിയിരിക്കുന്ന ചാപിള്ളയെപ്പോലെ ഇവള് ആകരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. Let her not be like death, as an abortion coming out of his mother's womb, when [the disease] devours the half of the flesh.

13. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയോടുദൈവമേ, അവളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

13. And Moses cried to the Lord, saying, O God, I beseech You, heal her.

14. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഅവളുടെ അപ്പന് അവളുടെ മുഖത്തു തുപ്പിയെങ്കില് അവള് ഏഴുദിവസം ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയില്ലയോ? അവളെ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തേക്കു പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു അടെച്ചിടേണം; പിന്നത്തേതില് അവളെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

14. And the Lord said to Moses, If her father had only spit in her face, would she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be set apart seven days outside the camp, and afterwards she shall come in.

15. ഇങ്ങനെ മിര്യ്യാമിനെ ഏഴു ദിവസം പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ആക്കി അടെച്ചിട്ടു; അവളെ വീണ്ടും അംഗീകരിച്ചതുവരെ ജനം യാത്ര ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നു.

15. And Miriam was separated outside the camp for seven days; and the people moved not forward till Miriam was cleansed.

16. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ജനം ഹസേരോത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പാരാന് മരുഭൂമിയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

16. And afterwards the people set forth from Asheroth, and encamped in the Wilderness of Paran.
