10. Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11. എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

11. Blessed are ye when [men] shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

13. നിങ്ങള് ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെപോയാല് അതിന്നു എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രസം വരുത്താം? പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മനുഷ്യര് ചവിട്ടുവാന് അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിന്നും പിന്നെ കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല.

13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.

14. നിങ്ങള് ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; മലമേല് ഇരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണം മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാന് പാടില്ല.

14. Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.

15. വിളകൂ കത്തിച്ചുപറയിന് കീഴല്ല തണ്ടിന്മേലത്രെ വെക്കുന്നതു; അപ്പോള് അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

15. Neither do [men] light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house.

16. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യര് നിങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടു, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചം അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് പ്രകാശിക്കട്ടെ.

16. Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

17. ഞാന് ന്യായ പ്രമാണത്തെയൊ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയോ നീക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു; നീക്കുവാനല്ല നിവര്ത്തിപ്പാനത്രെ ഞാന് വന്നതു.

17. Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.

18. സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു വള്ളി എങ്കിലും പുള്ളി എങ്കിലും ഒരുനാളും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

19. ആകയാല് ഈ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കല്പനകളില് ഒന്നു അഴിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരെ അങ്ങനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവന് എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അവയെ ആചരിക്കയും പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നോ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് വലിയവന് എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20. നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രീമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

20. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21. കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്താല് ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും എന്നും പൂര്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

21. Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22. ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസഹോദരനോടു കോപിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകുംസഹോദരനോടു നിസ്സാര എന്നും പറഞ്ഞാല് ന്യായാധിപസഭയുടെ മുമ്പില് നില്ക്കേണ്ടി വരും; മൂഢാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അഗ്നി നരകത്തിനു യോഗ്യനാകും.

22. but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.

23. ആകയാല് നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോള് സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ നേരെ വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ഔര്മ്മവന്നാല്

23. If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,

24. നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു അവിടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചേച്ചു, ഒന്നാമതു ചെന്നു സഹോദരനോടു നിരന്നുകൊള്ക; പിന്നെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക.

24. leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

25. നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ വഴിയില് ഉള്ളപ്പോള് തന്നേ വേഗത്തില് അവനോടു ഇണങ്ങിക്കൊള്ക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് പ്രതിയോഗി നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്നും ന്യായാധിപന് ചേവകന്നും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു നീ തടവില് ആയ്പോകും.

25. Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art with him in the way; lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

26. ഒടുവിലത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തു തീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

26. Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the last farthing.

27. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

27. Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28. ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസ്ത്രീയെ മോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ നോക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുപോയി.

28. but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29. എന്നാല് വലങ്കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കില് അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തില് പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അവയവങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

29. And if thy right eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.

30. വലങ്കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കില് അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തില് പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അവയവങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

30. And if thy right hand causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body go into hell.

31. ആരെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാല് അവള്ക്കു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

31. It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

32. but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery.

33. കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും സത്യം ചെയ്തതു കര്ത്താവിന്നു നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണം എന്നും പൂര്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

37. നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ഉവ്വു, ഉവ്വു എന്നും ഇല്ല, ഇല്ല എന്നും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതില് അധികമായതു ദുഷ്ടനില്നിന്നു വരുന്നു.

37. But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil [one].

38. കണ്ണിനു പകരം കണ്ണും പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

39. but I say unto you, resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40. നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിച്ചു നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനു നിന്റെ പുതപ്പും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക.

40. And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

41. ഒരുത്തന് നിന്നെ ഒരു നാഴിക വഴി പോകുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചാല് രണ്ടു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോക.

41. And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.

42. നിന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവനു കൊടുക്ക; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയരുതു.

42. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ പകെക്ക എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

43. Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:

45. that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.

46. നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം? ചുങ്കക്കാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

46. For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47. സഹോദരന്മാരെ മാത്രം വന്ദനം ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് എന്തു വിശേഷം ചെയ്യുന്നു? ജാതികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

47. And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others?] do not even the Gentiles the same?

48. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയപിതാവു സല്ഗുണപൂര്ണ്ണന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സല്ഗുണപൂര്ണ്ണരാകുവിന് .”
