1. രണ്ടു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പെസഹയുടെയും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെയും ഉത്സവം ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനെ ഉപായത്താല് പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലേണ്ടതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അനേഷിച്ചു

1. After two days followed ester, and the days of sweet bread. And the high priests and the scribes sought means, how they might take him by craft(disceate) and put him to death.

2. ജനത്തില് കലഹം ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിപ്പാന് ഉത്സവത്തില് അരുതു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

2. But they said: not on(in) the feast day, least any business arise among(lest there be an uprour in) the people.

3. അവന് ബേഥാന്യയില് കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയായ ശിമോന്റെ വീട്ടില് പന്തിയില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഒരു വെണ്കല്ഭരണി വിലയേറിയ സ്വച്ഛജടാമാംസി തൈലുവുമായി വന്നു ഭരണി പൊട്ടിച്ചു അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചു.

3. When he was in Bethania, in the house of Simon the leper, even as he sat at meat,(the table) there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment, called nard, that was pure and costly, and she brake the box and poured it on his head.

4. അവിടെ ചിലര്തൈലത്തിന്റെ ഈ വെറും ചെലവു എന്തിന്നു?

4. And there were some that disdained(were not content) in themselves, and said: what needed this waste of ointment?

5. ഇതു മുന്നൂറ്റില് അധികം വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുപ്പാന് കഴിയുമായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഉള്ളില് നീരസപ്പെട്ടു അവളെ ഭര്ത്സിച്ചു.

5. For it might have been sold for more than two(three) hundred pence, and been given unto the poor. And they grudged against her.

6. എന്നാല് യേശുഇവളെ വിടുവിന് ; അവളെ അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തു? അവള് എങ്കല് നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തിയല്ലോ ചെയ്തതു.

6. And Jesus said: let her be in rest, why grieve(trouble) ye her? She hath done a good work on me.

7. ദരിദ്രര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഇച്ഛിക്കുമ്പോള് അവര്ക്കും നന്മചെയ്വാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴിയും; ഞാനോ എല്ലായ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയില്ല.

7. Yea, and(For) ye shall have poor with you always: and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye shall not have always.

8. അവള് തന്നാല് ആവതു ചെയ്തു; കല്ലറയിലെ അടക്കത്തിന്നായി എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി തൈലം തേച്ചു.

8. She hath done that she could: she came aforehand to anoint my body to his buryingward.

9. സുവിശേഷം ലോകത്തില് ഒക്കെയും പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നേടത്തെല്ലാം അവള് ചെയ്തതും അവളുടെ ഔര്മ്മെക്കായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

9. Verily I say unto you: wheresoever this gospel(gospell) shall be preached thorowout the whole world: this also that she hath done, shall be rehearsed in remembrance of her.

10. പിന്നെ പന്തിരുവരില് ഒരുത്തനായി ഈസ്കര്യ്യോത്താവായ യൂദാ അവനെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.

10. And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went away unto the high priests, to betray him unto them.

11. അവര് അതു കേട്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അവന്നു പണം കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തു; അവനും അവനെ എങ്ങനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കാം എന്നു തക്കം അന്വേഷിച്ചുപോന്നു.

11. When they heard that, they were glad, and promised that they would give him money. And he sought, how he might conveniently betray him.

12. പെസഹകുഞ്ഞാടിനെ അറുക്കുന്നതായ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം നാളില് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുനീ പെസഹ കഴിപ്പാന് ഞങ്ങള് എവിടെ ഒരുക്കേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. And the first day of sweet bread, when men offer the paschal lamb, his disciples said unto him: where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the ester lamb?

13. അവന് ശിഷ്യന് മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു; നഗരത്തില് ചെല്ലുവിന് ; അവിടെ ഒരു കുടം വെള്ളം ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് നിങ്ങളെ എതിര്പെടും.

13. And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto them: Go ye into the city, and there shall a man meet you bearing a pitcher of water, follow him.

14. അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു അവന് കടക്കുന്നേടത്തു ആ വിട്ടുടയവനോടുഞാന് എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി പെസഹ കഴിപ്പാനുള്ള ശാല എവിടെ എന്നു ഗുരു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് .

14. And whithersoever he goeth in, say ye to the good man of the house: the master asketh(sendeth the word) where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the ester lamb with my disciples?

15. അവന് വിരിച്ചൊരുക്കിയ ഒരു വന്മാളിക കാണിച്ചുതരും; അവിടെ നമുക്കു ഒരുക്കുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And he will shew you a great parlour, paved, and prepared: there make ready for us.

16. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു നഗരത്തില് ചെന്നു അവന് തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ കണ്ടു പെസഹ ഒരുക്കി.

16. And his disciples went forth, and came in to the city, and found as he had said unto them, and made ready(prepared) the ester lamb.

17. സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള് അവന് പന്തിരുവരോടും കൂടെ വന്നു.

17. And at even, he came with the twelve.

18. അവര് ഇരുന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശുനിങ്ങളില് ഒരുവന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് തന്നേ, എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And as they sat at board and ate, Jesus said: Verily I say unto you: that one of you shall betray me, which eateth with me.

19. അവന് ദുഃഖിച്ചു, ഔരോരുത്തന് ഞാനോ, ഞാനോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

19. And they began to mourn, and to say to him one by one: is it I? And another said: Is it I?

20. അവന് അവരോടുപന്തിരുവരില് ഒരുവന് , എന്നോടുകൂടെ താലത്തില് കൈമുക്കുന്നവന് തന്നേ.

20. he answered, and said unto them: It is one of the twelve and the same dippeth with me in the platter.

21. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് പോകുന്നതു തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ സത്യം; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നോ അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; ആ മനുഷ്യന് ജനിക്കാതിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന്നു കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. The son of man goeth, as it is written of him: but woe be to that man, by whom the son of man is betrayed. Good were it for him, if that man had never been born.

22. അവര് ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തുവാങ്ങുവിന് ; ഇതു എന്റെ ശരീരം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And as they ate, Jesus took bread, gave thanks,(blessed and) brake it and gave it to them and said: Take, eat; This is my body.

23. പിന്നെ പാനപാത്രം എടുത്തു സ്തോത്രംചൊല്ലി അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു; എല്ലാവരും അതില്നിന്നു കുടിച്ചു;

23. And he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they drank all of it.

24. ഇതു അനേകര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി ചൊരിയുന്നതായി നിയമത്തിന്നുള്ള എന്റെ രക്തം.

24. And he said unto them: This is my blood of the new Testament, which shall be(is) shed for many.

25. മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ അനുഭവം ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് പുതുതായി അനുഭവിക്കുംനാള്വരെ ഞാന് അതു ഇനി അനുഭവിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Verily I say unto you: I will drink no more of this fruit of the vine, until that day, that I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God.

26. പിന്നെ അവര് സ്തോത്രം പാടിയശേഷം ഒലീവുമലകൂ പോയി.

26. And when they had said grace, they went out into the mount olivet.

27. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും ഇടറിപ്പോകും; “ഞാന് ഇടയനെ വെട്ടും, ആടുകള് ചിതറിപ്പോകും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

27. And Jesus said unto them: All ye shall hurt(be offended) thorow me this night. For it is written: I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.(scatred abrode)

28. എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പെ ഗലീലെക്കു പോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. But after that I am risen again I will go into Galilee before you.

29. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുഎല്ലാവരും ഇടറിയാലും ഞാന് ഇടറുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Peter said unto him: And though all men should be hurt,(offended) yet would not I.

30. യേശു അവനോടുഇന്നു, ഈ രാത്രിയില് തന്നേ, കോഴി രണ്ടു വട്ടം ക്കുകും മുമ്പെ നീ മൂന്നു വട്ടം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായി നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And Jesus said unto him: Verily I say unto thee this day even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

31. അവനോനീന്നോടുകൂടെ മരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറകയില്ല എന്നു അധികമായി പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ എല്ലാവരും പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And he spake bolder: no, if I should die with thee, I will not deny thee. Likewise also said they all.

32. അവര് ഗെത്ത്ശേമന എന്നു പേരുള്ള തോട്ടത്തില് വന്നാറെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുഞാന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുതീരുവോളം ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. And they came into a place named Gethsemani. And he said to his disciples: Sit ye here while I go apart and pray.

33. പിന്നെ അവന് പത്രൊസിനെയും യാക്കോബിനെയും യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ഭ്രമിപ്പാനും വ്യകുലപ്പെടുവാനും തുടങ്ങി

33. And he took with him Peter, James, and John, and he began to wax abashed and to be in an agony.

34. എന്റെ ഉള്ളം മരണവേദനപോലെ അതിദുഃഖിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇവിടെ പാര്ത്തു ഉണര്ന്നിരിപ്പിന് എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And said unto them: My soul is very heavy even unto the death, tarry here and watch.

35. പിന്നെ അല്പം മുമ്പോട്ടു ചെന്നു നിലത്തു വീണു, കഴിയും എങ്കില് ആ നാഴിക നീങ്ങിപ്പോകേണം എന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു

35. And he went forth a little and fell down on the ground and prayed: That if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36. അബ്ബാ, പിതാവേ, നിനക്കു എല്ലാം കഴിയും; ഈ പാനപാത്രം എങ്കല് നിന്നു നീക്കേണമേ; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതല്ല നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതത്രേ ആകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. And he said: Abba father, all things are possible unto thee, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless not that I will, but that thou wilt be done.

37. പിന്നെ അവന് വന്നു അവര് ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു കണ്ടു പത്രൊസിനോടുശിമോനേ, നീ ഉറങ്ങുന്നുവേ? ഒരു നാഴിക ഉണര്ന്നിരിപ്പാന് നിനക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലയോ?

37. And he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter: Simon sleepest thou? Couldest not thou watch with me one hour?

38. പരീക്ഷയില് അകപ്പെടായ്വാന് ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് ; ആത്മാവു ഒരുക്കമുള്ളതു, ജഡമോ ബലഹീനമത്രേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. watch ye, and pray, least ye enter into temptation, the spirit is ready,(willing) but the flesh is weak.

39. അവന് പിന്നെയും പോയി ആ വചനം തന്നെ ചൊല്ലി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

39. And again he went away and prayed, and spake the same words.

40. മടങ്ങിവന്നാറെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകള്ക്കു ഭാരമേറിയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവര് അവനോടു എന്തു ഉത്തരം പറയേണം എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞില്ല;

40. And he returned and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy: neither could they tell(wist) what they might answer to him.

41. അവന് മൂന്നാമതു വന്നു അവരോടുഇനി ഉറങ്ങി ആശ്വസിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; മതി, നാഴിക വന്നു; ഇതാ, മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന് പാപികളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

41. And he came the third time, and said unto them: sleep hence forth(Sleep on now) and take your ease.(rest) It is enough. The hour is come; Behold the son of man shall be delivered into the hands of sinners.

42. എഴുന്നേല്പിന് ; നാം പോക; ഇതാ, എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവന് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

42. Rise up, let us go. Lo he that betrayeth me, is come nigh.(at hand.)

43. ഉടനെ, അവന് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ, പന്തിരുവരില് ഒരുത്തനായ യൂദയും അവനോടുകൂടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്, ശാസ്ത്രിമാര്, മൂപ്പന്മാര് എന്നവര് അയച്ച ഒരു പുരുഷാരവും വാളും വടിയുമായി വന്നു.

43. And immediately while he yet spake came Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great number of people with swords and staves from the high priests and scribes and seniors.(elders.)

44. അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവന് ഞാന് ഏവനെ ചുംബിക്കുമോ അവന് തന്നേ ആകുന്നു; അവനെ പിടിച്ചു സൂക്ഷമതയോടെ കൊണ്ടു പോകുവിന് എന്നു അവര്ക്കും ഒരു അടയാളം പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

44. (And) He that betrayed him, gave(had given) them a general token, saying: whosoever I do kiss, he it is, take him, and lead him away warily.

45. അവന് വന്നു ഉടനെ അടുത്തു ചെന്നുറബ്ബീ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

45. And as soon as he was come, he went straightway to him, and said unto him: master, master, and kissed him.

46. അവര് അവന്റെമേല് കൈവച്ചു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു.

46. And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

47. അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നവരില് ഒരുവന് വാള് ഊരി മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി കാതു അറുത്തു.

47. And one of them that stood by drew out a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

48. യേശു അവരോടുഒരു കള്ളന്റെ നേരെ എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ പിടിപ്പാന് വാളും വടിയുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നുവോ?

48. And Jesus answered and said unto them: ye came(be come) out as unto a thief with swords and with staves for to take me;

49. ഞാന് ദിവസേന ദൈവലായലയത്തില് ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ പിടിച്ചില്ല; എങ്കിലും തിരുവെഴുതത്തുകള്ക്കു നിവൃത്തി വരേണ്ടിതിന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not, but that the scriptures should be fulfilled:

50. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും അവനെ വിട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

50. And they all forsook him and ran away.

51. ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരന് വെറും ശരീരത്തിന്മേല് പുതപ്പു പുതെച്ചും കൊണ്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു; അവര് അവനെ പിടിച്ചു.

51. And there was a certain young man that followed him clothed in linen upon the bare, and the young men caught him,

52. അവനോ പുതപ്പു വിട്ടു നഗ്നനായി ഔടിപ്പോയി.

52. and he left his linen and fled from them naked.

53. അവര് യേശുവിനെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും എല്ലാം വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

53. And they led Jesus away to the highest priest of all, and to him came all the high priests and the seniors,(elders) and the scribes.

54. പത്രൊസ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അരമനെക്കകത്തോളവും അവനെ ദൂരവേ അനുഗമിച്ചു, ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു ചേര്ന്നു തീ കാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

54. And Peter followed him a great way off even into the palace of the high priest, and he was there and sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

55. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ന്യായാധിപസംഘം ഒക്കെയും യേശുവിനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചു കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

55. And the high priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesu, to put him to death; And they found none.

56. അനേകര് അവന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും സ്സാക്ഷ്യം ഒത്തുവന്നില്ല.

56. Yet many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

57. ചിലര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്റെ നേരെ

57. And there arose certain and brought false witness against him, saying:

58. ഞാന് കൈപ്പണിയായ ഈ മന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ചു മൂന്നു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു കൈപ്പണിയല്ലാത്ത മറ്റൊന്നു പണിയും എന്നു ഇവന് പറഞ്ഞതു ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടു എന്നു കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു.

58. We heard him say: I will destroy(break down) this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another, made without hands.

59. എന്നിട്ടും അവരുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം ഒത്തുവന്നില്ല.

59. And(But) their witness agreed not together.

60. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് നടുവില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു യേശുവിനോടുനീ ഒന്നും ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇവര് നിന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

60. And the highest priest stood up amongst them all, and asked Jesus saying: answerest thou nothing? How is it that these bear witness against thee?

61. അവനോ മിണ്ടാതെയും ഉത്തരം പറയാതെയും ഇരുന്നു. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് പിന്നെയും അവനോടുനീ വന്ദ്യനായവന്റെ പുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

61. And he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the highest priest asked him, and said unto him: Art thou the Christ the son of the blessed?

62. ഞാന് ആകുന്നു; മുനഷ്യപുത്രന് സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നതും ആകാശമേഘങ്ങളോടെ വരുന്നതും നിങ്ങള് കാണും എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.

62. And Jesus said: I am. And ye shall see the son of man sit on the right hand of power, and come in the clouds of heaven.

63. Then the highest priest rent his clothes and said: what need we any further (of) witness?

64. ഇനി സാക്ഷികളെകൊണ്ടു നമുക്കു എന്തു ആവശ്യം? ദൈവദൂഷണം നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവന് മരണയോഗ്യന് എന്നു എല്ലാവരും വിധിച്ചു.

64. ye have heard the blasphemy, what think ye? And they all gave sentence that he was worthy of death.

65. ചിലര് അവനെ തുപ്പുകയും അവന്റെ മുഖം മൂടി അവനെ മുഷ്ടി ചുരുട്ടി കുത്തുകയും പ്രവചിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറകയും ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങി; ചേവകര് അവനെ അടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു കയ്യേറ്റു.

65. And some began to spit at him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with their fists, and to say unto him, aread(prophecie) unto us. And the servants buffeted him on the face.

66. പത്രൊസ് താഴെ നടുമുറ്റത്തു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരത്തികളില് ഒരുത്തി വന്നു,

66. And Peter was beneath in the palace, and there came one of the wenches of the highest priest;

67. പത്രൊസ് തീ കായുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവനെ നോക്കിനീയും ആ നസറായനായ യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

67. And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked on him, and said: was not thou also with Jesus of Nazareth?

68. നീ പറയുന്നതു തിരിയുന്നില്ല, ബോദ്ധ്യമാകുന്നതുമില്ല എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവന് തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു; പടിപ്പുരയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള് കോഴി ക്കുകി.

68. And he denied it saying: I know him not, neither wot I what thou sayest: And he went out into the porch, and the cock crew.

69. ആ ബാല്യക്കാരത്തി അവനെ പിന്നെയും കണ്ടു സമീപത്തു നിലക്കുന്നവരോടുഇവന് ആ കൂട്ടരില് ഉള്ളവന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി. അവന് പിന്നെയും തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.

69. And a damsel saw him, and again began to say to them that stood by, this is one of them.

70. കുറയനേരം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അരികെ നിന്നവര് പത്രൊസിനോടുനീ ആ കൂട്ടരില് ഉള്ളവന് സത്യം; ഗലീലക്കാരനല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

70. And he denied it again. And anon after,(And after a litle while) again they that stood by, said (again) to Peter: surely thou art one of them, for thou art of Galilee, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

71. നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന് പ്രാകുവാനും ആണയിടുവാനും തുടങ്ങി.

71. And he began to curse and to swear, saying: I know not this man of whom ye speak.

72. ഉടനെ കോഴി രണ്ടാമതും ക്കുകി; കോഴി രണ്ടുവട്ടം ക്കുകുംമുമ്പെ നീ മൂന്നു വട്ടം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയും എന്നു യേശു തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു പത്രൊസ് ഔര്ത്തു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരിച്ചു കരഞ്ഞു.

72. And again the cock crew. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus said unto him: before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice, and began to weep.
