1. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുദൈവരാജ്യം ശക്തിയോടെ വരുന്നതു കാണുവോളം മരണം ആസ്വദിക്കാത്തവര് ചിലര് ഈ നിലക്കുന്നവരില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. I can assure you that some of the people standing here will not die before they see God's kingdom come with power.

2. ആറു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം യേശു പത്രൊസിനെയും യാക്കോബിനെയും യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടി ഒരു ഉയര്ന്ന മലയിലേക്കു തനിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ രൂപാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു.

2. Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John with him. They went up on a high mountain, where they could be alone. There in front of the disciples, Jesus was completely changed.

3. ഭൂമിയില് ഒരു അലക്കുകാരന്നും വെളുപ്പിപ്പാന് കഴിയാതെവണ്ണം അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം അത്യന്തം വെളുപ്പായി തിളങ്ങി.

3. And his clothes became much whiter than any bleach on earth could make them.

4. Then Moses and Elijah were there talking with Jesus.

5. പത്രൊസ് യേശുവിനോടുറബ്ബീ നാം ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു; ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു കുടില് ഉണ്ടാക്കട്ടെ; ഒന്നു നിനക്കും ഒന്നു മോശെക്കും ഒന്നു ഏലീയാവിന്നും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Peter said to Jesus, 'Teacher, it is good for us to be here! Let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.'

6. താന് എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; അവര് ഭയപരവശരായിരുന്നു.

6. But Peter and the others were terribly frightened, and he did not know what he was talking about.

7. The shadow of a cloud passed over and covered them. From the cloud a voice said, 'This is my Son, and I love him. Listen to what he says!'

8. At once the disciples looked around, but they saw only Jesus.

9. അവര് മലയില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോള്മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഈ കണ്ടതു ആരോടും അറിയിക്കരുതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

9. As Jesus and his disciples were coming down the mountain, he told them not to say a word about what they had seen, until the Son of Man had been raised from death.

10. മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു തമ്മില് തര്ക്കിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അവര് ആ വാക്കു ഉള്ളില് സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു;

10. So they kept it to themselves. But they wondered what he meant by the words 'raised from death.'

11. ഏലീയാവു മുമ്പെ വരേണ്ടതു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാര് വാദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവര് ചോദിച്ചു.

11. The disciples asked Jesus, 'Don't the teachers of the Law of Moses say that Elijah must come before the Messiah does?'

12. Jesus answered: Elijah certainly will come to get everything ready. But don't the Scriptures also say that the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected?

13. I can assure you that Elijah has already come. And people treated him just as they wanted to, as the Scriptures say they would.

14. അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കെ വന്നാറെ വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവരെ ചുറ്റി നിലക്കുന്നതും ശാസ്ത്രിമാര് അവരോടു തര്ക്കിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

14. When Jesus and his three disciples came back down, they saw a large crowd around the other disciples. The teachers of the Law of Moses were arguing with them.

15. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ കണ്ട ഉടനെ ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഔടിവന്നു അവനെ വന്ദിച്ചു.

15. The crowd was really surprised to see Jesus, and everyone hurried over to greet him.

16. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് അവരുമായി തര്ക്കിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

16. Jesus asked, 'What are you arguing about?'

17. അതിന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തില് ഒരുത്തന് ഗുരോ, ഊമനായ ആത്മാവുള്ള എന്റെ മകനെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

17. Someone from the crowd answered, 'Teacher, I brought my son to you. A demon keeps him from talking.

18. അതു അവനെ എവിടെവെച്ചു പിടിച്ചാലും അവനെ തള്ളിയിടുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് നുരെച്ചു പല്ലുകടിച്ചു വരണ്ടുപോകുന്നു. അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Whenever the demon attacks my son, it throws him to the ground and makes him foam at the mouth and grit his teeth in pain. Then he becomes stiff. I asked your disciples to force out the demon, but they couldn't do it.'

19. അവന് അവരോടുഅവിശ്വാസമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കും? എത്രത്തോളം നിങ്ങളെ പൊറുക്കും? അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Jesus said, 'You people don't have any faith! How much longer must I be with you? Why do I have to put up with you? Bring the boy to me.'

20. അവര് അവനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവനെ കണ്ട ഉടനെ ആത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു; അവന് നിലത്തു വീണു നുരെച്ചുരുണ്ടു.

20. They brought the boy, and as soon as the demon saw Jesus, it made the boy shake all over. He fell down and began rolling on the ground and foaming at the mouth.

21. ഇതു അവന്നു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു എത്ര കാലമായി എന്നു അവന്റെ അപ്പനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവന് ചെറുപ്പംമുതല് തന്നേ.

21. Jesus asked the boy's father, 'How long has he been like this?' The man answered, 'Ever since he was a child.

22. അതു അവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പലപ്പോഴും തീയിലും വെള്ളത്തിലും തള്ളിയിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിന്നാല് വല്ലതും കഴിയും എങ്കില് മനസ്സല്ലിഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവനോടുനിന്നാല് കഴിയും എങ്കില് എന്നോ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു സകലവും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. The demon has often tried to kill him by throwing him into a fire or into water. Please have pity and help us if you can!'

23. യേശു അവനോടുനിന്നാല് കഴിയും എങ്കില് എന്നോ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു സകലവും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Jesus replied, 'Why do you say 'if you can'? Anything is possible for someone who has faith!'

24. ബാലന്റെ അപ്പന് ഉടനെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അവിശ്വാസത്തിനു സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Right away the boy's father shouted, 'I do have faith! Please help me to have even more.'

25. എന്നാറെ പുരുഷാരം ഔടിക്കൂടുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടിട്ടു അശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ ശാസിച്ചുഊമനും ചെകിടനുമായ ആത്മാവേ, ഇവനെ വിട്ടു പോ; ഇനി അവനില് കടക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. When Jesus saw that a crowd was gathering fast, he spoke sternly to the evil spirit that had kept the boy from speaking or hearing. He said, 'I order you to come out of the boy! Don't ever bother him again.'

26. അപ്പോള് അതു നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വളരെ ഇഴെച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി. മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു പലരും പറവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന് മരിച്ച പോലെ ആയി.

26. The spirit screamed and made the boy shake all over. Then it went out of him. The boy looked dead, and almost everyone said he was.

27. യേശു അവനെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു നിവര്ത്തി, അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

27. But Jesus took hold of his hand and helped him stand up.

28. വീട്ടില് വന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സ്വകാര്യമായി അവനോടുഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കുവാന് കഴിയാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

28. After Jesus and the disciples had gone back home and were alone, they asked him, 'Why couldn't we force out that demon?'

29. പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയാല് അല്ലാതെ ഈ ജാതി ഒന്നിനാലും പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Jesus answered, 'Only prayer can force out that kind of demon.'

30. അവിടെ നിന്നു അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഗലീലയില് കൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു; അതു ആരും അറിയരുതെന്നു അവന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

30. Jesus left with his disciples and started through Galilee. He did not want anyone to know about it,

31. അവന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു അവരോടുമനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവര് അവനെ കൊല്ലും; കൊന്നിട്ടു മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. because he was teaching the disciples that the Son of Man would be handed over to people who would kill him. But three days later he would rise to life.

32. ആ വാക്കു അവര് ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പാനോ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

32. The disciples did not understand what Jesus meant, and they were afraid to ask.

33. അവന് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് വന്നു വീട്ടില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്നിങ്ങള് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു തമ്മില് വാദിച്ചതു എന്തു എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

33. Jesus and his disciples went to his home in Capernaum. After they were inside the house, Jesus asked them, 'What were you arguing about along the way?'

34. അവരോ തങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വലിയവന് ആര് എന്നു വഴിയില്വെച്ചു വാദിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

34. They had been arguing about which one of them was the greatest, and so they did not answer.

35. അവന് ഇരുന്നു പന്തിരുവരെയും വിളിച്ചുഒരുവന് മുമ്പന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അവന് എല്ലാവരിലും ഒടുക്കത്തവനും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷകനും ആകേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. After Jesus sat down and told the twelve disciples to gather around him, he said, 'If you want the place of honor, you must become a slave and serve others!'

36. ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ എടുത്തു അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിറുത്തി അണെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവരോടു

36. Then Jesus had a child stand near him. He put his arm around the child and said,

37. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ശിശുക്കളില് ഒന്നിനെ എന്റെ നാമത്തില് കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന് എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവനോ എന്നെയല്ല എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. 'When you welcome even a child because of me, you welcome me. And when you welcome me, you welcome the one who sent me.'

38. യോഹന്നാന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഒരുവന് നിന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടു; അവന് നമ്മെ അനുഗമിക്കായ്കയാല് ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ വിരോധിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. John said, 'Teacher, we saw a man using your name to force demons out of people. But he wasn't one of us, and we told him to stop.'

39. അതിന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞതുഅവനെ വിരോധിക്കരുതു; എന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഒരു വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്തിട്ടു വേഗത്തില് എന്നെ ദുഷിച്ചുപറവാന് കഴിയുന്നവന് ആരും ഇല്ല.

39. Jesus said to his disciples: Don't stop him! No one who works miracles in my name will soon turn and say something bad about me.

40. നമുക്കു പ്രതിക്കുലമല്ലാത്തവന് നമുക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലോ.

40. Anyone who isn't against us is for us.

41. നിങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നുള്ളവര് എന്നീ നാമത്തില് ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു പാനപാത്രം വെള്ളം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തന്നാല് അവന്നു പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

41. And anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name, just because you belong to me, will surely be rewarded.

42. എങ്കല് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഈ ചെറിയവരില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഇടര്ച്ചവരുത്തുന്നവന്റെ കഴുത്തില് വലിയോരു തിരികല്ലു കെട്ടി അവനെ കടലില് ഇട്ടുകളയുന്നതു അവന്നു ഏറെ നല്ലു.

42. It will be terrible for people who cause even one of my little followers to sin. Those people would be better off thrown into the ocean with a heavy stone tied around their necks.

43. നിന്റെ കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ച വരുത്തിയാല് അതിനെ വെട്ടിക്കളക

43. So if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off! You would be better off to go into life crippled than to have two hands and be thrown into the fires of hell that never go out.

44. മുടന്തനായി ജീവനില് കടക്കുന്നതു രണ്ടു കയ്യുമുള്ളവന് ആയി കെടാത്ത തീയായ നരകത്തില് പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് നിനക്കു നല്ലു.

45. നിന്റെ കാല് നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ച വരുത്തിയാല് അതിനെ വെട്ടിക്കളക

45. If your foot causes you to sin, chop it off. You would be better off to go into life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.

46. മുടന്തനായി ജീവനില് കടക്കുന്നതു രണ്ടു കാലുമുള്ളവന് ആയി കെടാത്ത തീയായ നരകത്തില് വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാള് നിനക്കു നല്ലു.

47. നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ച വരുത്തിയാല് അതിനെ ചൂന്നുകളക; ഒറ്റക്കണ്ണനായി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു രണ്ടുകണ്ണുള്ളവനായി അഗ്നിനരകത്തില് വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാള് നിനക്കു നല്ലു.

47. If your eye causes you to sin, get rid of it. You would be better off to go into God's kingdom with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell.

48. അവിടെ അവരുടെ പുഴു ചാകുന്നില്ല. തീ കെടുന്നതുമില്ല.
യെശയ്യാ 66:24

48. The worms there never die, and the fire never stops burning.

49. എല്ലാവന്നും തീകൊണ്ടു ഉപ്പിടും.

49. Everyone must be salted with fire.

50. ഉപ്പു നല്ലതു തന്നേ; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെ പോയാലോ എന്തൊന്നിനാല് അതിന്നു രസം വരുത്തും? നിങ്ങളില് തന്നേ ഉപ്പുള്ളവരും അന്യോന്യം സമാധാനമുള്ളവരും ആയിരിപ്പിന് .

50. Salt is good. But if it no longer tastes like salt, how can it be made salty again? Have salt among you and live at peace with each other.
