1. ഇക്കോന്യയില് അവര് ഒരുമിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും യവനന്മാരിലും വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം സംസാരിച്ചു.

1. And it came to pass in Iconium that they together entered into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake that there believed, both of Jews and Greeks, a great throng.

2. വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ജാതികളുടെ മനസ്സു സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നേരെ ഇളക്കി വഷളാക്കി.

2. But, the unpersuaded Jews, roused up and provoked the souls of them of the nations against the brethren.

3. എന്നാല് അവര് വളരെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു, കര്ത്താവില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവന് തന്റെ കൃപയുടെ വചനത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിനിന്നു, അവരുടെ കയ്യാല് അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുവാന് വരം നല്കി.

3. A good while, therefore, tarried they, using boldness of speech in dependence upon the Lord, who was bearing witness unto his word of favour, granting signs and wonders to be coming to pass through their hands.

4. എന്നാല് പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനസമൂഹം ഭിന്നിച്ചു ചിലര് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷത്തിലും ആയി.

4. And the throng of the city was divided; and some indeed were with the Jews, while some were with the apostles.

5. അവരെ അവമാനിപ്പാനും കല്ലെറിവാനും ജാതികളും യെഹൂദന്മാരും അവിടത്തെ പ്രമാണികളോടുകൂടി ഒരു ആക്രമം ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള് അവര് അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു ലുസ്ത്ര,

5. But, when there took place an assault both of them of the nations and of the Jews, with their rulers, to maltreat and to stone them,

6. ദെര്ബ്ബ ഇന്ന ലുക്കവോന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശത്തിലേക്കും

6. They became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the surrounding country;

7. ഔടിപ്പോയി അവിടെ സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുപോന്നു.

7. And, there, were they announcing the glad tidings.

8. ലുസ്ത്രയില് അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭംമുതല് മുടന്തനായി ഒരിക്കലും നടന്നിട്ടില്ലാതെയും കാലിന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയും ഉള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

8. And, a certain man in Lystra, impotent in his feet, was sitting, lame from his mother's womb, who never had walked.

9. അവന് പൊലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു; അവന് അവനെ ഉറ്റു നോക്കി, സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിപ്പാന് അവന്നു വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടു എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു

9. This man, hearkened unto Paul, as he was speaking, who, looking steadfastly at him, and seeing he had faith to be made well,

10. നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാലൂന്നി നിവിര്ന്നുനില്ക്ക എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് കുതിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റു നടന്നു

10. Said, with a loud voice Stand up on thy feet, erect! And he sprang up, and began to walk about.

11. പൌലൊസ് ചെയ്തതു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടുദേവന്മാര് മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തില് നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലുക്കവോന്യഭാഷയില് നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. And, the multitudes, seeing what Paul had done, lifted up their voice, in the speech of Lycaonia The gods, made like unto men, have come down unto us!

12. ബര്ന്നബാസിന്നു ഇന്ദ്രന് എന്നും പൌലൊസ് മുഖ്യപ്രസംഗിയാകയാല് അവന്നു ബുധന് എന്നു പേര്വിളിച്ചു.

12. And they went on to call Barnabas, Jupiter, and Paul, Mercury, seeing that, he, was the leader of discourse.

13. പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള ഇന്ദ്രക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന് കാളകളെയും പൂമാലകളെയും ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തോടുകൂടെ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് ഭാവിച്ചു.

13. Also, the priest of the Jupiter that was before the city, bringing bulls and garlands unto the gates, with the multitudes, would have offered sacrifice.

14. ഇതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ബര്ന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും കേട്ടിട്ടു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു

14. But the apostles Barnabas and Paul, hearing of it, rending asunder their own mantles, sprang forward amidst the multitude, crying aloud,

15. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് ഈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു സമസ്വഭാവമുള്ള മനുഷ്യര് അത്രെ; നിങ്ങള് ഈ വ്യര്ത്ഥകാര്യങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു, ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണം എന്നുള്ള സുവിശേഷം ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

15. and saying Men! Why, these things, are ye doing? We also, of like nature with you, are men, bringing you the good news, that from these vain things, ye should be turning unto a living God: Who made heaven and the earth and the sea and all things therein;

16. കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലങ്ങളില് അവന് സകലജാതികളെയും സ്വന്ത വഴികളില് നടപ്പാന് സമ്മതിച്ചു.

16. Who in the bygone generations suffered all the nations to be going on in their own ways,

17. എങ്കിലും അവന് നന്മചെയ്കയും ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു മഴയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള കാലങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരികയും ആഹാരവും സന്തോഷവും നല്കി നിങ്ങളെ തൃപ്തരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നതിനാല് തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം തരാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.

17. Although, not without witness, he left himself, doing good, from heaven, upon you, giving rain and fruitful seasons, filling, with food and gladness, your hearts.

18. അവര് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങള്ക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാതവണ്ണം പുരുഷാരത്തെ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തടുത്തു.

18. Even these things, saying, scarcely restrained they the multitudes from offering sacrifice unto them.

19. എന്നാല് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് നിന്നും ഇക്കോന്യയില് നിന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര് വന്നു കൂടി പുരുഷാരത്തെ വശത്താക്കി പൌലൊസിനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് മരിച്ചു എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു.

19. But there came thither, from Antioch and Iconium, Jews, and, persuading the multitudes, and stoning Paul, they dragged him outside the city, supposing him to be dead.

20. എന്നാല് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനെ ചുറ്റിനില്ക്കയില് അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു; പിറ്റെന്നാള് ബര്ന്നബാസിനോടു കൂടി ദെര്ബ്ബെക്കു പോയി.

20. Howbeit, the disciples surrounding him, he rose up, and entered into the city. And, on the morrow, he went forth, with Barnabas, unto Derbe.

21. ആ പട്ടണത്തിലും സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു പലരെയും ശിഷ്യരാക്കിയശേഷം അവര് ലുസ്ത്ര, ഇക്കോന്യ, അന്ത്യോക്യ എന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,

21. Delivering the good news unto that city also, and making a good number of disciples, they returned unto Lystra, and unto Iconium, and unto Antioch,

22. വിശ്വാസത്തില് നില നില്ക്കേണം എന്നും നാം അനേകം കഷ്ടങ്ങളില്കൂടി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു.

22. confirming the souls of the disciples, beseeching them to abide in the faith, and declaring that, through many tribulations, must we enter into the kingdom of God.

23. അവര് സഭതോറും അവര്ക്കും മൂപ്പന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കയും ഉപവസിച്ചും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ച കര്ത്താവിങ്കല് അവരെ ഭാരമേല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

23. Moreover, appointing unto them by vote, in each assembly, elders, praying with fastings, they commended them unto the Lord on whom they had believed.

24. അവര് പിസിദ്യയില്കൂടി കടന്നു പംഫുല്യയില്എത്തി,

24. And, passing through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia;

25. പെര്ഗ്ഗയില്വചനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം അത്തല്യെക്കു പോയി

25. and, speaking in Perga the word, they came down unto Attalia;

26. അവിടെ നിന്നു കപ്പല് കയറി അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി; തങ്ങള് നിവര്ത്തിച്ച വേലക്കായി ദൈവകൃപയില് അവരെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചയച്ചതു അവിടെനിന്നു ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

26. and, from thence, they set sail for Antioch, whence they had been given up unto the favour of God for the work which they had fulfilled.

27. അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം സഭയെ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂട്ടി, ദൈവം തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും ജാതികള്ക്കു വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ വാതില് തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തതും അറിയിച്ചു.

27. And, when they had arrived and gathered together the assembly, they began recounting how many things God had done with them, and that he had opened, unto the nations, a door of faith.

28. പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കുറെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

28. And they spent no little time with the disciples.
