1. സൂഫിന്നെതിരെ പാരാന്നും തോഫെലിന്നും ലാബാന്നും ഹസേരോത്തിന്നും ദീസാഹാബിന്നും നടുവെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ മരുഭൂമിയില് അരാബയില്വെച്ചു മോശെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും പറഞ്ഞ വചനങ്ങള് ആവിതു

1. These be the wordes whiche Moyses spake vnto all Israel on the other side Iordan in the wyldernesse, in ye playne ouer agaynst the red sea, betweene Pharan & Thophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Disahab.

2. സേയീര്പര്വ്വതം വഴിയായി ഹോരേബില്നിന്നു കാദേശ് ബര്ന്നേയയിലേക്കു പതിനൊന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി ഉണ്ടു.

2. There are eleuen dayes iourney from Horeb, by the way of mount Seir, vnto Cades Barnea.

3. നാല്പതാം സംവത്സരം പതിനൊന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു യഹോവ അവര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And it came to passe in the first day of the eleuenth moneth, in the fourtie yere, that Moyses spake vnto the chyldren of Israel, accordyng vnto all that the Lord had geuen hym in commaundement vnto them:

4. ഹെശ്ബോനില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനെയും അസ്താരോത്തില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗിനെയും എദ്രെയില്വെച്ചു സംഹരിച്ചശേഷം

4. After he had slayne Sehon the king of the Amorites whiche dwelt in Hesbon, & Og king of Basan whiche dwelt at Astaroth in Edrai.

5. യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ മോവാബ് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മോശെ ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം വിവരിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയതു എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്

5. On the other side Iordane in the land of Moab, began Moyses to declare this lawe, saying:

6. ഹോരേബില്വെച്ചു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനിങ്ങള് ഈ പര്വ്വതത്തിങ്കല് പാര്ത്തതു മതി.

6. The Lorde our God spake vnto vs in Horeb, saying: Ye haue dwelt long inough in this mount.

7. തിരിഞ്ഞു യാത്രചെയ്തു അമോര്യ്യരുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കും അതിന്റെ അയല്പ്രദേശങ്ങളായ അരാബാ, മലനാടു, താഴ്വീതി, തെക്കേദേശം, കടല്ക്കര എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള കനാന്യദേശത്തേക്കും ലെബാനോനിലേക്കും ഫ്രാത്ത് എന്ന മഹാനദിവരെയും പോകുവിന് .

7. Turne you and take your iourney, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and vnto all the places nye therevnto, both vnto the playne, and hilles, and dales, to the south, to the seas side, to the lande of Chanaan, and vnto Libanon, euen vnto the great riuer, the riuer Euphrates.

8. ഇതാ, ഞാന് ആ ദേശം നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് കടന്നു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നും യാക്കോബിന്നും അവരുടെ സന്തതിക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അവരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുവിന് .

8. Beholde, I haue set the lande before you: Go in and possesse the land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers, Abraham, Isahac, and Iacob, to geue vnto them, & to their seede after them.

9. അക്കാലത്തു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎനിക്കു ഏകനായി നിങ്ങളെ വഹിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

9. And I spake vnto you in the same time, saying: I am not able to beare you my selfe alone.

10. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു പെരുപ്പത്തില് ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള് പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

10. For the Lorde your God hath multiplied you: so that you be this day as the starres of heauen in number.

11. നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതിനെക്കാള് ഇനിയും ആയിരം ഇരട്ടിയാക്കി, താന് നിങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

11. (The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many mo as ye are, and blesse you as he hath promised you.)

12. ഞാന് ഏകനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുമടും നിങ്ങളുടെ വ്യവഹാരങ്ങളും വഹിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

12. Howe can I my selfe alone, beare your cumbraunce, your charge, & your stryfe that is among you?

13. അതതു ഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും പ്രസിദ്ധിയുമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് ; അവരെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തലവന്മാരാക്കും.

13. Bryng you men of wysdome, and of vnderstanding, and expert, accordyng to your tribes, and I wyll make them rulers ouer you.

14. അതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് എന്നോടുനീ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം നല്ലതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

14. And ye aunswered me, & sayde: That which yu hast spoken, is good for vs to do.

15. ആകയാല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരായി ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രസിദ്ധിയുമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ ആയിരംപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്, നൂറുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്, അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്, പത്തുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാര് ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തലവന്മാരും ഗോത്രപ്രമാണികളുമായി നിയമിച്ചു.

15. And so out of your tribes I toke the chiefe men of wysdome, and that were expert, and made them rulers ouer you, captaynes ouer thousandes, & captaines ouer hundredes, captaines ouer fiftie, and captaines ouer ten, and officers among your tribes.

16. അന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതുനിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും തമ്മിലുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു, ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും സഹോദരനോടോ പരദേശിയോടോ വല്ലകാര്യവും ഉണ്ടായാല് അതു നീതിയോടെ വിധിപ്പിന് .

16. And I charged your Iudges that same tyme, saying: Heare the cause of your brethren, and iudge righteously betweene euery man and his brother, and the straunger that is with hym.

17. ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തില് മുഖം നോക്കാതെ ചെറിയവന്റെ കാര്യവും വലിയവന്റെ കാര്യവും ഒരുപോലെ കേള്ക്കേണം; മനുഷ്യനെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ന്യായവിധി ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതല്ലോ. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അധികം പ്രയാസമുള്ള കാര്യം എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ; അതു ഞാന് തീര്ക്കും

17. Ye shall haue no respect of any person in iudgement, but you shall heare the small aswell as the great: You shall not feare the face of any man, for the iudgement is Gods. And the cause that is to harde for you, referre it vnto me, and I wyll heare it.

18. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഞാന് അക്കാലത്തു നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

18. And I comaunded you the same season, all the thinges which ye should do.

19. പിന്നെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം ഹോരേബില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടഭയങ്കരമായ മഹാമരുഭൂമിയില്കൂടി നാം അമോര്യ്യരുടെ മലനാട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു കാദേശ്ബര്ന്നേയയില് എത്തി.

19. And when we departed from Horeb, we went thorow all that great and terrible wyldernesse, as ye haue seene by the way of the mountayne of the Amorites, as the Lorde our God commaunded vs: and we came to Cades Barnea.

20. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുനമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമുക്കു തരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരുടെ മലനാടുവരെ നിങ്ങള് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. And I sayd vnto you: Ye are come vnto ye mountaine of ye Amorites, which the Lorde our God doth geue vnto vs.

21. ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആ ദേശം നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ നീ ചെന്നു അതു കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ക; ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; അധൈര്യപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Beholde, the Lorde thy God hath set the lande before thee: go vp and possesse it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath sayd vnto thee: feare not, neither be discouraged.

22. എന്നാറെ നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അടുത്തുവന്നുനാം ചില ആളുകളെ മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി അയക്കുക; അവര് ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കീട്ടു നാം ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയെയും പോകേണ്ടുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു വര്ത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And ye came vnto me euery one, and sayde: we wyll sende men before vs, to searche vs out the land, and to bryng vs worde agayne what way we must go vp by, & vnto what cities we shall come.

23. ആ വാക്കു എനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചു; ഞാന് ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള് വീതം പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്നിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

23. And the saying pleased me well: and I toke twelue men of you, of euery tribe one.

24. അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറി എസ്കോല്താഴ്വരയോളം ചെന്നു ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കി.

24. Whiche departed, & went vp into that mountayne, and came vnto the valley Eschol, and searched it out,

25. ദേശത്തിലെ ഫലവും ചിലതു അവര് കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു വര്ത്തമാനമെല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമുക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശം നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And toke of the lande in their handes, and brought it vnto vs, and brought vs word agayne, and sayd: It is a good lande whiche the Lorde our God doth geue vs.

26. എന്നാല് കയറിപ്പോകുവാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സില്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന നിങ്ങള് മറുത്തു.

26. Notwithstandyng, ye woulde not go vp, but were disobedient vnto the word of the Lorde your God,

27. യഹോവ നമ്മെ പകെക്കയാല് നമ്മെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അമോര്യ്യരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. And murmured in your tentes, and said: Because ye Lord hateth vs, therfore hath he brought vs out of the lande of Egypt, to deliuer vs into the hande of the Amorites, and to destroy vs.

28. എവിടേക്കാകുന്നു നാം കയറിപ്പോകുന്നതു? ജനങ്ങള് നമ്മെക്കാള് വലിയവരും ദീര്ഘകായന്മാരും പട്ടണങ്ങള് വലിയവയും ആകാശത്തോളം എത്തുന്ന മതിലുള്ളവയും ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് അവിടെ അനാക്യരെയും കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം ഉരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് വെച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. Whyther shal we go vp? Our brethren haue discouraged our heart, saying: the people is greater and taller then we, the cities are great, and walled euen vp to heauen, and moreouer we haue seene the sonnes of the Anakims there.

29. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുനിങ്ങള് ഭ്രമിക്കരുതു, അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു.

29. Then I sayde vnto you: Dreade not, nor be afraide of them.

30. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് നടക്കുന്നു നിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ അവന് മിസ്രയീമിലും മരുഭൂമിയിലും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും.

30. The Lorde your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, accordyng to all that he dyd vnto you in Egypt before your eyes:

31. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ മകനെ വഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തുവോളം നടന്ന എല്ലാ വഴിയിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ വഹിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And in the wyldernesse, where thou hast seene howe that the Lord thy God bare thee, euen as a man doth beare his sonne, in al the way which ye haue gone by, vntill ye came vnto this place:

32. ഇതെല്ലാമായിട്ടും പാളയമിറങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്ഥലം അന്വേഷിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങള് പോകേണ്ടുന്ന വഴി നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരുവാനും

32. And yet in this thing ye did not beleue the Lorde your God.

33. രാത്രി അഗ്നിയിലും പകല് മേഘത്തിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പായി നടന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

33. He went in the way before you, to searche you out a place to pitche your tentes in, in fyre by nyght, yt ye myght see what way to go, & in a cloude by day.

34. ആകയാല് യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു കോപിച്ചു

34. And the Lorde hearde the voyce of your wordes, & was wroth, and sware, saying:

35. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള നല്ല ദേശം ഈ ദുഷ്ടതലമുറയിലെ പുരുഷന്മാര് ആരും കാണുകയില്ല.

35. There shall not one of these men, and of this frowarde generation, see that good lande whiche I sware to geue vnto your fathers:

36. യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബ് മാത്രം അതു കാണുകയും അവന് യഹോവയെ പൂര്ണ്ണമായി പറ്റിനിന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും അവന് ചവിട്ടിയ ദേശം ഞാന് കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തു കല്പിച്ചു.

36. Saue Caleb the sonne of Iephune, he shall see it, and to him wyll I geue the lande that he hath troden vpon, and to his chyldren, because he hath folowed the Lorde.

37. യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം എന്നോടും കോപിച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതുനീയും അവിടെ ചെല്ലുകയില്ല.

37. Also the Lorde was angry with me for your sakes, saying: Thou also shalt not go in thyther.

38. നിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനായ നൂന്റെ മകന് യോശുവ അവിടെ ചെല്ലും; അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുക; അവനാകുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്നു അതു കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതു.

38. But Iosuah the sonne of Nun which standeth before thee, he shal go in thyther. Encourage hym therfore: for he shall cause Israel to inherite the lande.

39. കൊള്ളയാകുമെന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞ നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും ഇന്നു ഗുണദോഷങ്ങളെ തിരിച്ചറിയാത്ത നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളും അവിടെ ചെല്ലും; അവര്ക്കും ഞാന് അതു കൊടുക്കും; അവര് അതു കൈവശമാക്കും.

39. Moreouer, your chyldren, which ye sayde should be a pray, and your sonnes whiche in that day had no knowledge betweene good and euyll, they shall go in thyther, and vnto them wyll I geue it, and they shall enioy it.

40. നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞു ചെങ്കടല്വഴിയായി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്വിന് .

40. But as for you, turne your face, and take your iourney into the wildernesse, euen by the way of the red sea.

41. അതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് എന്നോടുഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള് പോയി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ യുദ്ധായുധം ധരിച്ചു പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറുവാന് തുനിഞ്ഞു.

41. Then ye aunswered and sayde vnto me, We haue sinned agaynst the Lord: we wyll go vp and fight, according to all that the Lorde our God commaunded vs. And when ye had gyrde on euery man his weapons of warre, ye were redie to go vp into the hyll.

42. എന്നാല് യഹോവ എന്നോടുനിങ്ങള് പോകരുതു; യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യരുതു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഇല്ല; ശത്രുക്കളോടു നിങ്ങള് തോറ്റുപോകും എന്നു അവരോടു പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

42. And the Lord sayd vnto me: Say vnto them, go not vp, neither fight, for I am not among you: lest ye fall before your enemies.

43. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കാതെ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന മറുത്തു അഹമ്മതിയോടെ പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറി.

43. And I tolde you these thynges, & you woulde not heare, but disobayed the worde of the Lord, and went presumptuously vp into the hyll.

44. ആ പര്വ്വതത്തില് കുടിയിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യര് നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു തേനീച്ചപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു സേയീരില് ഹൊര്മ്മാവരെ ഛിന്നിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

44. And the Amorites whiche dwelt in that mountayne, came out against you, and chased you as bees vse to do, and destroyed you in Seir, euen vnto Horma.

45. നിങ്ങള് മടങ്ങിവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കരഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല് യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ അപേക്ഷെക്കു ചെവി തന്നതുമില്ല.

45. And ye came agayne, and wept before the Lorde: but the Lorde would not heare your voyce, nor hearken vnto you.

46. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് കാദേശില് പാര്ത്ത ദീര്ഘകാലമൊക്കെയും അവിടെ താമസിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

46. And so ye abode in Cades a long season, according vnto the tyme that ye remayned [before.] That whiche was done from the tyme they departed from Cades Barnea, vnto the battayle agaynst the kynges, Sehon and Og.
