1. അനന്തരം മിസ്രയീം രാജാവിന്റെ പാനപാത്രവാഹകനും അപ്പക്കാരനും മിസ്രയീം രാജാവായ തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനോടു കുറ്റം ചെയ്തു.

1. Some time later it came about that the Egyptian king's cupbearer and baker gave offense to their lord the king of Egypt.

2. ഫറവോന് പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയും അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയുമായ തന്റെ രണ്ടു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരോടു കോപിച്ചു.

2. Pharaoh became angry with his two officers the chief cupbearer and the chief baker.

3. അവരെ അകമ്പടിനായകന്റെ വീട്ടില് യോസേഫ് ബദ്ധനായി കിടന്ന കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് ആക്കി.

3. So he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison, in the same place where Yosef was kept.

4. അകമ്പടിനായകന് അവരെ യോസേഫിന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്തു; അവര് കുറെക്കാലം തടവില് കിടന്നു.

4. The captain of the guard charged Yosef to be with them, and he became their attendant while they remained in prison.

5. മിസ്രയീം രാജാവിന്റെ പാനപാത്രവാഹകനും അപ്പക്കാരനും ഇങ്ങനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് ബദ്ധന്മാരായിരുന്ന രണ്ടുപേരും ഒരു രാത്രയില് തന്നേ വെവ്വേറെ അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള ഔരോ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു.

5. One night the two of them, the king of Egypt's cupbearer and his baker, there in prison, both had dreams, each dream with its own meaning.

6. രാവിലെ യോസേഫ് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു നോക്കിയപ്പോള് അവര് വിഷാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

6. Yosef came in to them in the morning and saw that they looked sad.

7. അവന് യജമാനന്റെ വീട്ടില് തന്നോടുകൂടെ തടവില് കിടക്കുന്നവരായ ഫറവോന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു വിഷാദഭാവത്തോടിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. He asked Pharaoh's officers there with him in the prison of his master's house, 'Why are you looking so sad today?'

8. അവര് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുതരുവാന് ആരുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യോസേഫ് അവരോടുസ്വപ്നവ്യാഖ്യാനം ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതല്ലയോ? അതു എന്നോടു പറവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. They said to him, 'We each had a dream, and there's no one around who can interpret it.' Yosef said to them, 'Don't interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, please.'

9. അപ്പോള് പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണി യോസേഫിനെ തന്റെ സ്വപ്നം അറിയിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തില് ഇതാ, എന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഒരു മുന്തിരി വള്ളി.

9. Then the chief cupbearer told Yosef his dream: 'In my dream, there in front of me was a vine,

10. മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയില് മൂന്നു കൊമ്പു; അതു തളിര്ത്തു പൂത്തു; കുലകളില് മുന്തിരിങ്ങാ പഴുത്തു.

10. and the vine had three branches. The branches budded, then it suddenly began to blossom, and finally clusters of ripe grapes appeared.

11. ഫറവോന്റെ പാനപാത്രം എന്റെ കയ്യില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിച്ചു ഫറവോന്റെ പാനപാത്രത്തില് പിഴിഞ്ഞുപാനപാത്രം ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു.

11. Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, so I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and gave the cup to Pharaoh.'

12. യോസേഫ് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം ഇതാകുന്നുമൂന്നു കൊമ്പു മൂന്നു ദിവസം.

12. Yosef said to him, 'Here is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.

13. മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിന്നകം ഫറവോന് നിന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു, വീണ്ടും നിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു ആക്കും. നീ പാനപാത്രവാഹകനായി മുമ്പിലത്തെ പതിവു പോലെ ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യില് പാനപാത്രം കൊടുക്കും.

13. Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office: you will be giving Pharaoh his cup as you used to when you were his cupbearer.

14. എന്നാല് നീ ശുഭമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് എന്നെ ഔര്ത്തു എന്നോടു ദയ ചെയ്തു ഫറവോനെ എന്റെ വസ്തുത ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നെ ഈ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.

14. But remember me when it goes well with you; and show me kindness, please; and mention me to Pharaoh, so that he will release me from this prison.

15. എന്നെ എബ്രായരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു കട്ടുകൊണ്ടുപോന്നതാകുന്നു; ഈ കുണ്ടറയില് എന്നെ ഇടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇവിടെയും യാതൊന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

15. For the truth is that I was kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and here too I have done nothing wrong that would justify putting me in this dungeon.'

16. അര്ത്ഥം നല്ലതെന്നു അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണി കണ്ടിട്ടു യോസേഫിനോടുഞാനും സ്വപ്നത്തില് എന്റെ തലയില് വെളുത്ത അപ്പമുള്ള മൂന്നു കൊട്ട കണ്ടു.

16. When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Yosef, 'I too saw in my dream: there were three baskets of white bread on my head.

17. മേലത്തെ കൊട്ടയില് ഫറവോന്റെ വക അപ്പത്തരങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; പക്ഷികള് എന്റെ തലയിലെ കൊട്ടയില് നിന്നു അവയെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. In the uppermost basket there were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.'

18. അതിന്നു യോസേഫ്അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം ഇതാകുന്നുമൂന്നു കൊട്ട മൂന്നു ദിവസം.

18. Yosef answered, 'Here is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days.

19. മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിന്നകം ഫറവോന് നിന്റെ തല വെട്ടി നിന്നെ ഒരു മരത്തിന്മേല് തൂക്കും; പക്ഷികള് നിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head from off of you- he will hang you on a tree, and the birds will eat your flesh off you.'

20. മൂന്നാം നാളില് ഫറവോന്റെ തിരുനാളില് അവന് തന്റെ സകലദാസന്മാര്ക്കും ഒരു വിരുന്നുകഴിച്ചു. തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാനപാത്ര വാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയും അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയും ഔര്ത്തു.

20. On the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, he gave a party for all his officials, and he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker among his officials.

21. പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെ ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യില് പാനപാത്രം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വീണ്ടും അവന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു ആക്കി.

21. He restored the chief cupbearer back to his position, so that he again gave Pharaoh his cup.

22. അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയോ അവന് തൂക്കിച്ചു; യോസേഫ് അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നെ.

22. But he hanged the chief baker, as Yosef had interpreted to them.

23. എങ്കിലും പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണി യോസേഫിനെ ഔര്ക്കാതെ അവനെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

23. Nevertheless, the chief cupbearer didn't remember Yosef, but forgot him.
