1. രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഫറവോന് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Two years later Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile River.

2. അവന് നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു. അപ്പോള് രൂപഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുനദിയില് നിന്നു കയറി, ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

2. In the dream, seven cows came out of the river and stood there eating grass. They were healthy, good-looking cows.

3. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു നദിയില് നിന്നു കയറി, നദീതീരത്തു മറ്റേ പശുക്കളുടെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

3. Then seven more cows came out of the river and stood on the bank of the river by the healthy cows. But these cows were thin and looked sick.

4. മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കള് രൂപ ഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന് ഉണര്ന്നു.

4. The seven sick cows ate the seven healthy cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

5. അവന് പിന്നെയും ഉറങ്ങി, രണ്ടാമതും ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിര് ഒരു തണ്ടില് നിന്നു പൊങ്ങി വന്നു.

5. Pharaoh went back to sleep and began dreaming again. This time he dreamed that he saw seven heads of grain growing on one plant. They were healthy and full of grain.

6. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ നേര്ത്തും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിര് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

6. Then he saw seven more heads of grain sprouting, but they were thin and scorched by the hot wind.

7. നേര്ത്ത ഏഴു കതിരുകള് പുഷ്ടിയും മണിക്കരുത്തുമുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന് ഉണര്ന്നു, അതു സ്വപ്നം എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു.

7. The thin heads of grain ate the seven good heads of grain. Then Pharaoh woke up again and realized it was only a dream.

9. അപ്പോള് പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണി ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഇന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ കുറ്റം ഔര്ക്കുംന്നു.

9. Then the wine servant remembered Joseph and said to Pharaoh, 'I remember something that happened to me.

10. ഫറവോന് അടിയങ്ങളോടു കോപിച്ചു, എന്നെയും അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയും അകമ്പടിനായകന്റെ വീട്ടില് തടവിലാക്കിയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. You were angry with the baker and me, and you put us in prison.

11. അവിടെവെച്ചു ഞാനും അവനും ഒരു രാത്രിയില് തന്നേ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; വെവ്വേറെ അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള സ്വപ്നം ആയിരുന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന് കണ്ടതു.

11. Then one night he and I had a dream. Each dream had a different meaning.

12. അവിടെ അകമ്പടി നായകന്റെ ദാസനായ ഒരു എബ്രായ യൌവനക്കാരന് ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചാറെ അവന് സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചു; ഔരോരുത്തന്നു താന്താന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞുതന്നു.

12. There was a young Hebrew man in prison with us. He was a servant of the commander of the guards. We told him our dreams, and he explained them to us. He told us the meaning of each dream,

13. അവന് അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു; എന്നെ വീണ്ടും സ്ഥാനത്തു ആക്കുകയും മറ്റവനെ തൂക്കിക്കളകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

13. and what he said came true. He said I would be free and have my old job back, and it happened. He also said the baker would die, and it happened!'

14. ഉടനെ ഫറവോന് ആളയച്ചു യോസേഫിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു. അവര് അവനെ വേഗത്തില് കുണ്ടറയില്നിന്നു ഇറക്കി; അവന് ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യിച്ചു, വസ്ത്രം മാറി, ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.

14. So Pharaoh called Joseph from the prison. The guards quickly got Joseph out of prison. Joseph shaved, put on some clean clothes, and went to see Pharaoh.

15. ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുഞാന് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; അതിനെ വ്യാഖ്യനിപ്പാന് ആരുമില്ല; എന്നാല് നീ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കേട്ടാല് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുമെന്നു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'I had a dream, and no one can explain it for me. I heard that you can explain dreams when someone tells you about them.'

16. അതിന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടുഞാനല്ല ദൈവം തന്നേ ഫറവോന്നു ശുഭമായോരു ഉത്തരം നലകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. Joseph answered, 'I cannot! But God can explain the dream for you, Pharaoh.'

17. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തില് ഞാന് നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു.

17. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'In my dream I was standing by the Nile River.

18. അപ്പോള് മാംസപുഷ്ടിയും രൂപഗുണവുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശു നദിയില്നിന്നു കയറി ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

18. Seven cows came up out of the river and stood there eating the grass. They were healthy, good-looking cows.

19. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ക്ഷീണിച്ചും മെലിഞ്ഞും എത്രയും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു കയറി വന്നു; അത്ര വിരൂപമായവയെ ഞാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

19. Then I saw seven more cows come out of the river after them, but these cows were thin and looked sick. They were the worst cows I had ever seen anywhere in Egypt!

20. എന്നാല് മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കള് പുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുമ്പിലത്തെ ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു;

20. The thin, sick cows ate the first healthy cows,

21. ഇവ അവയുടെ വയറ്റില് ചെന്നിട്ടും വയറ്റില് ചെന്നു എന്നു അറിവാനില്ലായിരന്നു; അവ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ വിരൂപമുള്ളവ ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് ഉണര്ന്നു.

21. but they still looked thin and sick. You couldn't even tell they had eaten the healthy cows. They looked as thin and sick as they did in the beginning. Then I woke up.

22. പിന്നെയും ഞാന് സ്വപ്നത്തില് കണ്ടതുനിറഞ്ഞതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിര് ഒരു തണ്ടില് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

22. In my next dream I saw seven heads of grain growing on one plant. They were healthy and full of grain.

23. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഉണങ്ങിയും നേര്ത്തും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിര് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

23. And then seven more heads of grain grew after them, but they were thin and scorched by the hot wind.

24. നേര്ത്ത കതിരുകള് ഏഴു നല്ല കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. ഇതു ഞാന് മന്ത്രവാദികളോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല് വ്യാഖ്യാനിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴഞ്ഞില്ല.

24. Then the thin heads of grain ate the seven good heads of grain. 'I told these dreams to my magicians. But no one could explain the dreams to me. What do they mean?'

25. അപ്പോള് യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഫറവോന്റെ സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നുതന്നേ; താന് ചെയ്വാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ദൈവം ഫറവോന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, 'Both of these dreams have the same meaning. God is telling you what will happen soon.

26. ഏഴു നല്ല പശു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; നല്ല കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നു തന്നേ.

26. The seven good cows and the seven good heads of grain are seven good years.

27. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ കയറിവന്ന മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുവും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞു പതിരായുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; അവ ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ആകുന്നു.

27. And the seven thin, sick-looking cows and the seven thin heads of grain mean that there will be seven years of hunger in this area. These seven bad years will come after the seven good years.

28. ദൈവം ചെയ്വാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ഫറവോന്നു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു അതാകുന്നു ഞാന് ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു.

28. God has shown you what will happen soon. He will make these things happen just as I told you.

29. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും ബഹു സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും.

29. For seven years there will be plenty of food in Egypt.

30. അതു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും; അപ്പോള് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ആ സുഭിക്ഷതയൊക്കെയും മറന്നിരിക്കും; ക്ഷാമത്താല് ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.

30. But then there will be seven years of hunger. The people will forget how much food there had been in Egypt before. This famine will ruin the country.

31. പിന് വരുന്ന ക്ഷാമം അതികഠിനമായിരിക്കയാല് ദേശത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സുഭിക്ഷത അറിയാതെയായിപ്പോകും.

31. It will be so bad that people will forget what it was like to have plenty of food.

32. ഫറവോന്നു സ്വപ്നം രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉണ്ടായതോ കാര്യം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ദൈവം അതിനെ വേഗത്തില് വരുത്തുവാനിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ആകുന്നു.

32. Pharaoh, you had two dreams about the same thing. That means God wanted to show you that he really will make this happen, and he will make it happen soon!

33. ആകയാല് ഫറവോന് വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ള ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരി ആക്കി വെക്കേണം.

33. So, Pharaoh, you should choose a wise, intelligent man and put him in charge of Egypt.

34. അതുകൂടാതെ ഫറവോന് ദേശത്തിന്മേല് വിചാരകന്മാരെ ആക്കി, സുഭിക്ഷതയുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തില് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ വിളവില് അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു വാങ്ങേണം.

34. Then you should choose other men to collect food from the people. During the seven good years, the people must give them one fifth of all the food they grow.

35. ഈ വരുന്ന നല്ല സംവത്സരങ്ങളിലെ വിളവൊക്കെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഫറവോന്റെ അധീനത്തില് ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കേണം.

35. In this way these men will collect all the food during the seven good years and store it in the cities until it is needed. Pharaoh, this food will be under your control.

36. ആ ധാന്യം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വരുവാന് പോകുന്ന ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴുസംവത്സരത്തേക്കു ദേശത്തിന്നു സംഗ്രഹമായിട്ടിരിക്കേണം; എന്നാല് ദേശം ക്ഷാമം കൊണ്ടു നശിക്കയില്ല.

36. Then during the seven years of hunger, there will be food for the country of Egypt. And Egypt will not be destroyed by the famine.'

37. ഈ വാക്കു ഫറവോന്നും അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാര്ക്കും ബോധിച്ചു.

37. This seemed like a very good idea to Pharaoh, and all his officials agreed.

38. ഫറവോന് തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുദൈവാത്മാവുള്ള ഈ മനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. Then Pharaoh told them, 'I don't think we can find anyone better than Joseph to take this job! God's Spirit is in him, making him very wise!'

39. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുദൈവം ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി തന്നതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെപ്പോലെ വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ളവന് ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല.

39. So Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'God showed these things to you, so you must be the wisest man.

40. നീ എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരിയാകും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു എന്റെ ജനമെല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കും; സിംഹാസനംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രം ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കാള് വലിയവനായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. I will put you in charge of my country, and the people will obey all your commands. I will be the only one more powerful than you.'

41. ഇതാ, മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നിന്നെ മേലധികാരി ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നും ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'I now make you governor over all of Egypt.'

42. ഫറവോന് തന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു മുദ്രമോതിരം ഊരി, യോസേഫിന്റെ കൈകൂ ഇട്ടു, അവനെ നേര്മ്മയുള്ള വസ്ത്രംധരിപ്പിച്ചു, ഒരു സ്വര്ണ്ണസരപ്പളിയും അവന്റെ കഴുത്തില് ഇട്ടു.

42. Then Pharaoh gave his special ring to Joseph. The royal seal was on this ring. Pharaoh also gave Joseph a fine linen robe and put a gold chain around his neck.

43. Then he told Joseph to ride in his second chariot. Pharaoh's officials said, 'Let him be the governor over the whole land of Egypt!'

44. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുഞാന് ഫറവോന് ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ കല്പന കൂടാതെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും യാതൊരുത്തനും കയ്യോ കാലോ അനക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

44. Then Pharaoh said to him, 'I am Pharaoh, the king over everyone in Egypt, but no one else in Egypt can lift a hand or move a foot unless you say he can.'

45. ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിന്നു സാപ്നത്ത് പനേഹ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകള് ആസ്നത്തിനെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു. പിന്നെ യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

45. Then Pharaoh gave Joseph another name, Zaphenath Paneah. He also gave Joseph a wife named Asenath. She was the daughter of Potiphera, a priest in the city of On. So Joseph became the governor over the whole country of Egypt.

46. യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധാനത്തില് നിന്നു പറപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

46. Joseph was 30 years old when he began serving the king of Egypt. He traveled throughout the country of Egypt.

47. എന്നാല് സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ദേശം സമൃദ്ധിയായി വിളഞ്ഞു.

47. During the seven good years, the crops in Egypt grew very well.

48. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സുഭിക്ഷത ഉണ്ടായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തിലെ ധാന്യം ഒക്കെയും അവന് ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളില് സൂക്ഷിച്ചു; ഔരോ പട്ടണത്തില് ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്തുള്ള നിലത്തിലെ ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

48. Joseph saved the food in Egypt during those seven years and stored the food in the cities. In every city he stored grain that grew in the fields around the city.

49. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് കടല്കരയിലെ മണല്പോലെ എത്രയും വളരെ ധാന്യം ശേഖരിച്ചു വെച്ചു; അളപ്പാന് കഴിവില്ലായ്കയാല് അളവു നിര്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

49. Joseph stored so much grain that it was like the sands of the sea. He stored so much grain that it could not be measured.

50. ക്ഷാമകാലം വരുംമുമ്പെ യോസേഫിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാര് ജനിച്ചു; അവരെ ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകള് ആസ്നത്ത് പ്രസവിച്ചു.

50. Joseph's wife, Asenath, was the daughter of Potiphera, the priest in the city of On. Before the first year of hunger came, Joseph and Asenath had two sons.

51. എന്റെ സകല കഷ്ടതയും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനം ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം എന്നെ മറക്കുമാറാക്കി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന്നു മനശ്ശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

51. Joseph named the first son Manasseh. He was given this name because Joseph said, 'God made me forget all of my hard work and everything back home in my father's house.'

52. സങ്കടദേശത്തു ദൈവം എന്നെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവന് രണ്ടാമത്തവന്നു എഫ്രയീം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

52. Joseph named the second son Ephraim. Joseph gave him this name because he said, 'I had great troubles, but God has made me successful in everything.'

53. For seven years people had all the food they needed, but those years ended.

54. Then the seven years of hunger began, just as Joseph had said. No food grew anywhere in any of the countries in that area. But in Egypt people had plenty to eat because Joseph had stored the grain.

55. The famine began, and the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Pharaoh said to the Egyptian people, 'Go ask Joseph what to do.'

56. ക്ഷാമം ഭൂതലത്തിലൊക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായി; യോസേഫ് പാണ്ടികശാലകള് ഒക്കെയും തുറന്നു, മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും ധാന്യം വിറ്റു; ക്ഷാമം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തും കഠിനമായ്തീര്ന്നു.

56. There was famine everywhere, so Joseph gave the people grain from the warehouses. He sold the stored grain to the people of Egypt. The famine was bad in Egypt,

57. ഭൂമിയില് എങ്ങും ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായയ്തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സകലദേശക്കാരും ധാന്യം കൊള്ളുവാന് മിസ്രയീമില് യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

57. but the famine was bad everywhere. So people from the countries around Egypt had to come to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain.
