1. രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഫറവോന് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And it came to pass at the end of two years of days, that, Pharaoh, was dreaming, when lo! he was standing by the river (Nile);

2. അവന് നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു. അപ്പോള് രൂപഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുനദിയില് നിന്നു കയറി, ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

2. and lo! from the river, were coming up seven heifers, comely in appearance and fat in flesh, and they fed among the rushes.

3. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു നദിയില് നിന്നു കയറി, നദീതീരത്തു മറ്റേ പശുക്കളുടെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

3. And lo! seven heifers more coming up after them out of the river, uncomely in appearance and lean in flesh, and they came and stood beside the heifers, by the lip of the river.

4. മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കള് രൂപ ഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന് ഉണര്ന്നു.

4. Then did the heifers that were uncomely in appearance, and lean in flesh, eat up, the seven heifers that were comely in appearance and fat. So Pharaoh awoke.

5. അവന് പിന്നെയും ഉറങ്ങി, രണ്ടാമതും ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിര് ഒരു തണ്ടില് നിന്നു പൊങ്ങി വന്നു.

5. And he fell asleep, and dreamed a second time, when lo! seven ears, coming up on one stalk fat and good;

6. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ നേര്ത്തും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിര് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

6. and lo! seven ears, lean and shrivelled by an east wind, coming up after them.

7. നേര്ത്ത ഏഴു കതിരുകള് പുഷ്ടിയും മണിക്കരുത്തുമുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന് ഉണര്ന്നു, അതു സ്വപ്നം എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു.

7. Then did the lean ears swallow up the seven fat and full ears. So Pharaoh awoke and lo! it was a dream.

9. അപ്പോള് പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണി ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഇന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ കുറ്റം ഔര്ക്കുംന്നു.

9. Then spake the chief of the butlers with Pharaoh saying, My faults, would mention this day.

10. ഫറവോന് അടിയങ്ങളോടു കോപിച്ചു, എന്നെയും അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയും അകമ്പടിനായകന്റെ വീട്ടില് തടവിലാക്കിയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. Pharaoh, was wroth with his servants, and put them in the ward of the house of the chief of the royal executioners, me, and the chief of the bakers.

11. അവിടെവെച്ചു ഞാനും അവനും ഒരു രാത്രിയില് തന്നേ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; വെവ്വേറെ അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള സ്വപ്നം ആയിരുന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന് കണ്ടതു.

11. Then must we needs dream, a dream in one night, I and he, each man, according to the interpretation of his dream, did we dream.

12. അവിടെ അകമ്പടി നായകന്റെ ദാസനായ ഒരു എബ്രായ യൌവനക്കാരന് ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചാറെ അവന് സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചു; ഔരോരുത്തന്നു താന്താന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞുതന്നു.

12. And, there with us, was a young man, a Hebrew servant to the chief of the royal executioners, and we related to him, and he interpreted to us our dreams, to each man according to his dream, did he interpret,

13. അവന് അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു; എന്നെ വീണ്ടും സ്ഥാനത്തു ആക്കുകയും മറ്റവനെ തൂക്കിക്കളകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

13. And it came to pass as he interpreted to us, so, it happened, me, he restored to mine office but him, he hanged.

14. ഉടനെ ഫറവോന് ആളയച്ചു യോസേഫിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു. അവര് അവനെ വേഗത്തില് കുണ്ടറയില്നിന്നു ഇറക്കി; അവന് ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യിച്ചു, വസ്ത്രം മാറി, ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.

14. Then sent Pharaoh and summoned Joseph, and they hastened him out of the dungeon, so he shaved himself and changed his garments, and came in unto Pharaoh.

15. ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുഞാന് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; അതിനെ വ്യാഖ്യനിപ്പാന് ആരുമില്ല; എന്നാല് നീ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കേട്ടാല് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുമെന്നു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, A dream, have I dreamed, but none can interpreted it, but, I, have heard say concerning thee, that on hearing a dream, thou canst interpret it.

16. അതിന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടുഞാനല്ല ദൈവം തന്നേ ഫറവോന്നു ശുഭമായോരു ഉത്തരം നലകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And Joseph answered Pharaoh saying, Not to me, doth it pertain! May, God grant in answer, the prosperity of Pharaoh!

17. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തില് ഞാന് നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു.

17. Then spake Pharaoh unto Joseph, In my dream, there was I, standing on the lip of the river;

18. അപ്പോള് മാംസപുഷ്ടിയും രൂപഗുണവുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശു നദിയില്നിന്നു കയറി ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

18. When lo! out of the river, were coming up seven heifers, fat in flesh and comely in form, and they fed among the rushes.

19. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ക്ഷീണിച്ചും മെലിഞ്ഞും എത്രയും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു കയറി വന്നു; അത്ര വിരൂപമായവയെ ഞാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

19. And lo! seven other heifers, coming up after them, poor and very uncomely in form and lean in flesh, I had never seen such in all the land of Egypt, for uncomeliness.

20. എന്നാല് മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കള് പുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുമ്പിലത്തെ ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു;

20. Then did the lean and uncomely heifers eat up the first seven fat heifers;

21. ഇവ അവയുടെ വയറ്റില് ചെന്നിട്ടും വയറ്റില് ചെന്നു എന്നു അറിവാനില്ലായിരന്നു; അവ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ വിരൂപമുള്ളവ ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് ഉണര്ന്നു.

21. and they passed into their stomach yet could it not be known that they had passed into them, their appearance, being uncomely, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

22. പിന്നെയും ഞാന് സ്വപ്നത്തില് കണ്ടതുനിറഞ്ഞതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിര് ഒരു തണ്ടില് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

22. Then looked I in my dream, And lo! seven ears, coming up on one stalk, full and good;

23. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഉണങ്ങിയും നേര്ത്തും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിര് പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

23. And lo! seven ears, withered lean shrivelled by an east wind growing up after them.

24. നേര്ത്ത കതിരുകള് ഏഴു നല്ല കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. ഇതു ഞാന് മന്ത്രവാദികളോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല് വ്യാഖ്യാനിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴഞ്ഞില്ല.

24. Then did the lean ears swallow up, the seven good ears. So I told these things unto the sacred scribes, but there was none that could explain them to me.

25. അപ്പോള് യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഫറവോന്റെ സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നുതന്നേ; താന് ചെയ്വാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ദൈവം ഫറവോന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. Then said Joseph unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh, is, one. What God is about to do hath he announced to Pharaoh.

26. ഏഴു നല്ല പശു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; നല്ല കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നു തന്നേ.

26. The seven good heifers, are, seven years, and, the seven good ears are, seven years, the dream, is, one.

27. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ കയറിവന്ന മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുവും കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞു പതിരായുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; അവ ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ആകുന്നു.

27. And the seven lean and uncomely heifers that were coming up after them, are seven years, and the seven lean ears, shrivelled by an east wind, will turn out to be seven years of famine.

28. ദൈവം ചെയ്വാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ഫറവോന്നു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു അതാകുന്നു ഞാന് ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു.

28. The very word that I spake unto Pharaoh, what, God, is about to do, hath he showed unto Pharaoh.

29. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും ബഹു സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും.

29. Lo! seven years, coming in, of great plenty, in all the land of Egypt.

30. അതു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും; അപ്പോള് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ആ സുഭിക്ഷതയൊക്കെയും മറന്നിരിക്കും; ക്ഷാമത്താല് ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.

30. Then shall arise seven years of famine, after them, so shall be forgotten all the plenty in the land of Egypt, and the famine shall consume the land;

31. പിന് വരുന്ന ക്ഷാമം അതികഠിനമായിരിക്കയാല് ദേശത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സുഭിക്ഷത അറിയാതെയായിപ്പോകും.

31. neither shall the plenty in the land be discernible, because of that famine coming after, for it shall be livery severe.

32. ഫറവോന്നു സ്വപ്നം രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉണ്ടായതോ കാര്യം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ദൈവം അതിനെ വേഗത്തില് വരുത്തുവാനിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ആകുന്നു.

32. And for that there was a repeating of the dream unto Pharaoh, twice, it is because the thing, is established, from God, and God is hastening to do it.

33. ആകയാല് ഫറവോന് വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ള ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരി ആക്കി വെക്കേണം.

33. Now, therefore, let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34. അതുകൂടാതെ ഫറവോന് ദേശത്തിന്മേല് വിചാരകന്മാരെ ആക്കി, സുഭിക്ഷതയുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തില് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ വിളവില് അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു വാങ്ങേണം.

34. Let Pharaoh do this, that he may appoint overseers over the land, so shall he take up a fifth of the land of Egypt, during the seven years of plenty.

35. ഈ വരുന്ന നല്ല സംവത്സരങ്ങളിലെ വിളവൊക്കെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഫറവോന്റെ അധീനത്തില് ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കേണം.

35. And let them gather up all the food of these seven good years that are coming in, and let them heap up corn under the hand of Pharaoh as food in cities so shall they keep it.

36. ആ ധാന്യം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വരുവാന് പോകുന്ന ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴുസംവത്സരത്തേക്കു ദേശത്തിന്നു സംഗ്രഹമായിട്ടിരിക്കേണം; എന്നാല് ദേശം ക്ഷാമം കൊണ്ടു നശിക്കയില്ല.

36. So shall the food become a store for the land, for the seven years of famine which shall come about in the land of Egypt, and the land shall not be cut off in the famine.

37. ഈ വാക്കു ഫറവോന്നും അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാര്ക്കും ബോധിച്ചു.

37. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants;

38. ഫറവോന് തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുദൈവാത്മാവുള്ള ഈ മനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. and Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?

39. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുദൈവം ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി തന്നതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെപ്പോലെ വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ളവന് ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല.

39. So Pharaoh said unto Joseph, After God hath made known unto thee all this, there is no one discreet and wise like thee.

40. നീ എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരിയാകും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു എന്റെ ജനമെല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കും; സിംഹാസനംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രം ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കാള് വലിയവനായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. Thou, shalt be over my house, and on thy mouth, shall all my people kiss, only as to the throne, will I be greater than thou.

41. ഇതാ, മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നിന്നെ മേലധികാരി ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നും ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42. ഫറവോന് തന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു മുദ്രമോതിരം ഊരി, യോസേഫിന്റെ കൈകൂ ഇട്ടു, അവനെ നേര്മ്മയുള്ള വസ്ത്രംധരിപ്പിച്ചു, ഒരു സ്വര്ണ്ണസരപ്പളിയും അവന്റെ കഴുത്തില് ഇട്ടു.

42. So Pharaoh took his ring from off his hands and put it upon Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen, and put the chain of gold upon his neck;

43. തന്റെ രണ്ടാം രഥത്തില് അവനെ കയറ്റിമുട്ടുകുത്തുവിന് എന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് വിളിച്ചു പറയിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവനെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും മേലധികാരിയാക്കി.

43. and made him ride in the second chariot which belonged to him, and they cried out before him. Bow the knee! thus setting him over all the land of Egypt.

44. പിന്നെ ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിനോടുഞാന് ഫറവോന് ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ കല്പന കൂടാതെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും യാതൊരുത്തനും കയ്യോ കാലോ അനക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

44. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph. I, am Pharaoh, Without thee, therefore shah no man raise his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.

45. ഫറവോന് യോസേഫിന്നു സാപ്നത്ത് പനേഹ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകള് ആസ്നത്തിനെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു. പിന്നെ യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

45. And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphenath-paneah, and gave him Asenath daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, to wife, and Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt.

46. യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധാനത്തില് നിന്നു പറപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

46. Now, Joseph, was thirty years old, when he took his station, before Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Joseph went forth from before Pharaoh, and passed along through all the land of Egypt.

47. എന്നാല് സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ദേശം സമൃദ്ധിയായി വിളഞ്ഞു.

47. And the land produced, in the seven years of plenty, by handfuls,

48. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സുഭിക്ഷത ഉണ്ടായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തിലെ ധാന്യം ഒക്കെയും അവന് ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളില് സൂക്ഷിച്ചു; ഔരോ പട്ടണത്തില് ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്തുള്ള നിലത്തിലെ ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

48. And he gathered up all the food of the seven years in which there was plenty in the land of Egypt, and laid up food in cities the food of the fields of the city. which were round about it, laid he up within it.

49. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് കടല്കരയിലെ മണല്പോലെ എത്രയും വളരെ ധാന്യം ശേഖരിച്ചു വെച്ചു; അളപ്പാന് കഴിവില്ലായ്കയാല് അളവു നിര്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

49. Thus did Joseph heap up corn like the sand of the sea making it exceeding abundant, until one hath left off reckoning, because it cannot be reckoned.

50. ക്ഷാമകാലം വരുംമുമ്പെ യോസേഫിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാര് ജനിച്ചു; അവരെ ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകള് ആസ്നത്ത് പ്രസവിച്ചു.

50. Now to Joseph, were born two sons, ere yet came in the year of famine, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, bare to him.

51. എന്റെ സകല കഷ്ടതയും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനം ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം എന്നെ മറക്കുമാറാക്കി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന്നു മനശ്ശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

51. And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh, For God hath made me forget all my trouble, and all the house of my father.

52. സങ്കടദേശത്തു ദൈവം എന്നെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവന് രണ്ടാമത്തവന്നു എഫ്രയീം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

52. And, the name of the second, called he Ephraim, For God hath made me fruitful in the land of my humiliation.

53. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുണ്ടായ സുഭിക്ഷതയുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്

53. Then came to an end the seven years of the plenty, which was in the land of Egypt;

54. യോസേഫ് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം തുടങ്ങി; സകലദേശങ്ങളിലും ക്ഷാമമുണ്ടായി; എന്നാല് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

54. and the seven years of famine began to come in, according as Joseph had said, and it came to pass that there was a famine in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt, there was bread.

55. പിന്നെ മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോള് ജനങ്ങള് ആഹാരത്തിന്നായി ഫറവോനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; ഫറവോന് മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ഒക്കെയുംനിങ്ങള് യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുവിന് ; അവന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുംപോലെ ചെയ്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

55. Yet was famine felt in all the land of Egypt, and the people made outcry; unto Pharaoh for bread, and Pharaoh said to all Egypt, Go ye unto Joseph, that which he saith to you, shall ye do.

56. ക്ഷാമം ഭൂതലത്തിലൊക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായി; യോസേഫ് പാണ്ടികശാലകള് ഒക്കെയും തുറന്നു, മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും ധാന്യം വിറ്റു; ക്ഷാമം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തും കഠിനമായ്തീര്ന്നു.

56. Now, the famine, was over all the face of the land, so Joseph opened all places wherein it was and sold corn to the Egyptians, and the famine laid fast hold of the land of Egypt.

57. ഭൂമിയില് എങ്ങും ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായയ്തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സകലദേശക്കാരും ധാന്യം കൊള്ളുവാന് മിസ്രയീമില് യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

57. All the earth also, came in to Egypt to buy corn, unto Joseph, because the famine had laid fast hold on an the earth.
