1. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും മറ്റും തനിക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് മനസ്സും താല്പര്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും ശലോമോന് പണിതു തീര്ന്നശേഷം

1. And it came to pass, when Solomon had made an end of building the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, and everything that Solomon desired, which he was pleased to make,

2. യഹോവ ഗിബെയോനില്വെച്ചു ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായതുപോലെ രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യവും അവന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.

2. then appeared Yahweh unto Solomon, a second time, as he appeared unto him, in Gibeon.

3. യഹോവ അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്നീ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയും യാചനയും ഞാന് കേട്ടു; നീ പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെ എന്റെ നാമം അതില് എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണും ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും അവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

3. And Yahweh said unto him I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, wherewith thou hast made supplication before me, I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my Name there unto times age-abiding, and mine eyes and my heart shall be there, continually:

4. ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഹൃദയനിര്മ്മലതയോടും പരമാര്ത്ഥതയോടും കൂടെ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് നടന്നതുപോലെ നടക്കുകയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും

4. As for thee, therefore, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, with a whole heart and with uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and, my statutes and my regulations, wilt keep,

5. വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തില് ഇരിപ്പാന് ഒരു പുരുഷന് നിനക്കു ഇല്ലാതെപോകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേലിലുള്ള നിന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം ഞാന് എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

5. then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel, unto times age-abiding, as I promised unto David thy father, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man, from off the throne of Israel.

6. നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരോ എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചാല്

6. If ye, turn back, ye or your sons, from following me, and keep not my commandments, my statutes, which I have set before you, but depart and serve other gods, and bow yourselves down to them,

7. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയവും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; യിസ്രായേല് സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആയിരിക്കും.

7. then will I cut off Israel, from the face of the soil, which I have given unto them, and, the house which I have hallowed for my Name, will I suffer to be carried away from before me, and Israel shall become a byword and a mockery, among all the peoples;

8. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെ കണ്ടു സ്തംഭിച്ചു ചൂളകുത്തിയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തിയതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

8. and, this house which had been renowned, shall be desolate, every one that passeth by it, shall be astonished and shall whistle, and men shall say For what cause, hath Yahweh done, thus, unto this land, and unto this house?

9. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഈ അനര്ത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അതിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

9. And men will answer Because they forsook Yahweh their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and bowed themselves down to them, and served them, for this cause, hath Yahweh brought in upon them all this ruin.

10. ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം, രാജധാനി എന്നീ രണ്ടു ഭവനവും ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരംകൊണ്ടു പണിതശേഷം

10. And it came to pass, at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king;

11. സോര്രാജാവായ ഹീരാം ശലോമോന്നു അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ദേവദാരുവും സരളമരവും സ്വര്ണ്ണവും കൊടുത്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഹീരാമിന്നു ഗലീലദേശത്തു ഇരുപതു പട്ടണം കൊടുത്തു.

11. Hiram king of Tyre having supplied Solomon with timber of cedar, and with timber of fir, and with gold, according to all his desire, that, then, King Solomon gave unto Hiram twenty cities, in the land of Galilee.

12. ശലോമോന് ഹീരാമിന്നു കൊടുത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് സോരില്നിന്നു വന്നു; എന്നാല് അവ അവന്നു ബോധിച്ചില്ല, സഹോദരാ,

12. And Hiram came out from Tyre to view the cities which, Solomon, had given him, and they were not pleasing in his eyes.

13. നീ എനിക്കു തന്ന ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങള് എന്തു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവേക്കു ഇന്നുവരെയും കാബൂല്ദേശം എന്നു പേരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. So he said What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them, Unfruitful Land, as they are called unto this day.

14. ഹീരാമോ രാജാവിന്നു നൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്തു പൊന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

14. Now Hiram had sent to the king, a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

15. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം, അരമന, മില്ലോ, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതില്, ഹാസോര്, മെഗിദ്ദോ, ഗേസെര് എന്നിവ പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഊഴിയവേല ചെയ്യിച്ച വിവരം

15. Now, the following, is an account of the tax which King Solomon raised, for building the house of Yahweh and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16. മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന് ചെന്നു, ഗേസെര് പിടിച്ചു തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു, അതില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന കനാന്യരെ കൊന്നു, അതിനെ ശലോമോന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ തന്റെ മകള്ക്കു സ്ത്രീധനമായി കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

16. Pharaoh king of Egypt, had gone up and captured Gezer, and burned it with fire, the Canaanites also who were dwelling in the city, had he slain, and had given it as a dowry, to his daughter, wife of Solomon.

17. അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് ഗേസെരും

17. So then Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon, the nether,

18. താഴത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും ബാലാത്തും ദേശത്തിലെ മരുഭൂമിയിലുള്ള

18. and Baalath and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land;

19. തദ്മോരും ശലോമോന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകലസംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളും രഥനഗരങ്ങളും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കുംള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും ശലോമോന് യെരൂശലേമിലും ലെബാനോനിലും തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തില് എല്ലാടവും പണിവാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പണിതു

19. also all the store cities, which Solomon had, and the cities for chariots, and the cities for horsemen, and the desire of Solomon that he was pleased to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land that he ruled over.

20. അമോര്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഉള്പ്പെടാത്ത ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള സകലജാതിയെയും

20. All the people that were left, of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were, not of the sons of Israel;

21. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയാതെ പിന്നീടും ദേശത്തു ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും ശലോമോന് ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരാക്കി; അവര് ഇന്നുവരെ അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

21. their sons, who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel were not able to devote to destruction, Solomon levied them for a toiling labour-band which remaineth unto this day.

22. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് നിന്നോ ശലോമോന് ആരെയും ദാസ്യവേലക്കാക്കിയില്ല; അവര് അവന്റെ യോദ്ധാക്കളും ഭൃത്യന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും പടനായകന്മാരും അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാരും ആയിരുന്നു.

22. But, of the sons of Israel, Solomon devoted none to bond-service, but, they, were men of war, and his servants, and his generals, and his heroes, and captains of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23. അഞ്ഞൂറ്റമ്പതുപേര് ശലോമോന്റെ വേലയെടുത്ത ജനത്തിന്നു മേധാവികളായ മേലുദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരായിരുന്നു.

23. These, were the chiefs of the officers, who were over the work, for Solomon, five hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.

24. ഫറവോന്റെ മകള് ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില്നിന്നു ശലോമോന് അവള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പണിതിരുന്ന അരമനയില് പാര്പ്പാന് വന്നശേഷം അവന് മില്ലോ പണിതു.

24. Scarcely had Pharaoh's daughter come up out of the city of David, into her own house, which he had built for her, when he built Millo.

25. ശലോമോന് യഹോവേക്കു പണിതിരുന്ന യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് അവര് ആണ്ടില് മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ധൂപം കാട്ടും. ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം തീര്ത്തു.

25. And Solomon used to offer, three times a year, ascending-sacrifices and peace-offerings, upon the altar which he had built unto Yahweh, and to offer incense at the altar which was before Yahweh, thus Solomon gave completeness unto the house.

26. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു എദോംദേശത്തു ചെങ്കടല്കരയില് ഏലോത്തിന്നു സമീപത്തുള്ള എസ്യോന് -ഗേബെരില്വെച്ചു കപ്പലുകള് പണിതു.

26. A fleet also, did King Solomon build in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

27. ആ കപ്പലുകളില് ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഹീരാം സമുദ്രപരിചയമുള്ള കപ്പല്ക്കാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചു.

27. And Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, seamen, having knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon;

28. അവര് ഔഫീരിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അവിടെനിന്നു നാനൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്തു പൊന്നു ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

28. and they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence, gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to King Solomon.
