1. ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യം ക്രമത്തില് ആക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും, ശേഷിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. In those days was Hizkiyahu sick to death. Yesha`yahu the prophet the son of Amotz came to him, and said to him, Thus says the LORD, Set your house in order: for you shall die, and not live.

2. അപ്പോള് ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു

2. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying,

3. അയ്യോ യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടും കൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പില് നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.

3. Remember now, LORD, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. Hizkiyahu wept sore.

4. എന്നാല് യെശയ്യാവു നടുമുറ്റം വിട്ടു പോകുംമുമ്പെ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. It happened, before Yesha`yahu was gone out into the middle part of the city, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

5. നീ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനീര് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും; മൂന്നാം ദിവസം നീ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് പോകും.

5. Turn back, and tell Hizkiyahu the prince of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD.

6. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും; ഞാന് നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും. എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഈ നഗരം ഞാന് കാത്തു രക്ഷിക്കും.

6. I will add to your days fifteen years; and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Ashshur; and I will defend this city for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

7. പിന്നെ യെശയ്യാവു ഒരു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവര് അതു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേല് ഇട്ടു അവന്നു സൌഖ്യമായി.

7. Yesha`yahu said, Take a cake of figs. They took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

8. ഹിസ്കീയാവു യെശയ്യാവോടുയഹോവ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ഞാന് മൂന്നാം ദിവസം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് പോകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

8. Hizkiyahu said to Yesha`yahu, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD the third day?

9. അതിന്നു യെശയ്യാവുയഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കാര്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കുമെന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു അടയാളം ആകുംനിഴല് പത്തു പടി മുമ്പോട പോകേണമോ? പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

9. Yesha`yahu said, This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?

10. അതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവുനിഴല് പത്തു പടി ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നതു എളുപ്പം ആകുന്നു; അങ്ങനെയല്ല, നിഴല് പത്തുപടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. Hizkiyahu answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to decline ten steps: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.

11. അപ്പോള് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അവന് ആഹാസിന്റെ സൂര്യഘടികാരത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന നിഴലിനെ പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കി.

11. Yesha`yahu the prophet cried to the LORD; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Achaz.

12. ആ കാലത്തു ബലദാന്റെ മകനായ ബെരോദാക്-ബലദാന് എന്ന ബാബേല്രാജാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നിരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു എഴുത്തും സമ്മാനവും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

12. At that time Berodakh-Bal'adan the son of Bal'adan, king of Bavel, sent letters and a present to Hizkiyahu; for he had heard that Hizkiyahu had been sick.

13. ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും പരിമളതൈലവും തന്റെ ആയുധശാലയും തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളില് ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു. രാജധാനിയിലും തന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തിലും ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരെ കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

13. Hizkiyahu listened to them, and shown them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hizkiyahu didn't show them.

14. എന്നാല് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുഈ പുരുഷന്മാര് എന്തു പറഞ്ഞു? അവര് എവിടെ നിന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവുഅവര് ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു, ബാബേലില്നിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Then came Yesha`yahu the prophet to king Hizkiyahu, and said to him, What said these men? and from whence came they to you? Hizkiyahu said, They are come from a far country, even from Bavel.

15. അവര് രാജധാനയില് എന്തെല്ലാം കണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവുരാജധാനിയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവര് കണ്ടു; എന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. He said, What have they seen in your house? Hizkiyahu answered, All that is in my house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.

16. യെശയ്യാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്ക്ക

16. Yesha`yahu said to Hizkiyahu, Hear the word of the LORD.

17. രാജധാനിയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഇന്നുവരെ ശേഖരിച്ചുവെച്ചതും ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു.

17. Behold, the days come, that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store to this day, shall be carried to Bavel: nothing shall be left, says the LORD.

18. നീ ജനിപ്പിച്ചവരായി നിന്നില്നിന്നുത്ഭവിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിലും ചിലരെ അവര് കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവര് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയില് ഷണ്ഡന്മാരായിരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18. Of your sons who shall issue from you, whom you shall father, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Bavel.

19. അതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു യെശയ്യാവോടുനീ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ വചനം നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു സമാധാനവും സത്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Then said Hizkiyahu to Yesha`yahu, Good is the word of the LORD which you have spoken. He said moreover, Isn't it so, if shalom and truth shall be in my days?

20. ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകല പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന് ഒരു കുളവും കല്പാത്തിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി വെള്ളം നഗരത്തിന്നകത്തു വരുത്തിയതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. Now the rest of the acts of Hizkiyahu, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah?

21. ഹിസ്കീയാവു തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

21. Hizkiyahu slept with his fathers; and Menashsheh his son reigned in his place.
