1. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ രൂബേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്:--അവനല്ലോ ആദ്യജാതന് ; എങ്കിലും അവന് തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ശയ്യയെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മകനായ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ലഭിച്ചു; വംശാവലി ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശപ്രകാരം എണ്ണുവാനുള്ളതുമല്ല.

1. And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; but the genealogy is not registered according to the birthright,

2. യെഹൂദാ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കാള് പ്രബലനായ്തീര്ന്നു; അവനില് നിന്നു പ്രഭു ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു; ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശമോ യോസേഫിന്നു ലഭിച്ചു--

2. for Judah prevailed among his brethren, and of him was the prince, but the birthright was Joseph's),

3. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ രൂബേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഹാനോക്ക്, പല്ലൂ, ഹെസ്രോന് , കര്മ്മി.

3. -- the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallu, Hezron and Carmi.

4. യോവേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്അവന്റെ മകന് ശെമയ്യാവു; അവന്റെ മകന് ഗോഗ്; അവന്റെ മകന് ശിമെയി; അവന്റെ മകന് മീഖാ;

4. The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5. അവന്റെ മകന് രെയായാവു; അവന്റെ മകന് ബാല്;

5. Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

6. അവന്റെ മകന് ബെയേര; അവനെ അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവായ തിഗ്ളത്ത്-പിലേസര് ബദ്ധനാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവന് രൂബേന്യരില് പ്രഭുവായിരുന്നു.

6. Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7. അവരുടെ വംശാവലി തലമുറതലമുറയായി എഴുതിയിരുന്ന പ്രകാരം കുലം കുലമായി അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് ആരെന്നാല്തലവനായ യയീയേല്,

7. And his brethren by their families, in the genealogical register of their generations, were: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

8. സെഖര്യ്യാവു, അരോവേരില് നെബോവും ബാല്-മെയോനുംവരെ പാര്ത്ത ബേല; അവന് യോവേലിന്റെ മകനായ ശേമയുടെ മകനായ ആസാസിന്റെ മകനായിരുന്നു.

8. and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;

9. അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികള് ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശത്തു പെരുകിയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് കിഴക്കോട്ടു ഫ്രാത്ത് നദിമുതല് മരുഭൂമിവരെ പാര്ത്തു.

9. and eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the river Euphrates; for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

10. ശൌലിന്റെ കാലത്തു അവര് ഹഗ്രീയരോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു; അവര് അവരുടെ കയ്യാല് പട്ടുപോയശേഷം അവര് ഗിലെയാദിന്നു കിഴക്കു എല്ലാടവും കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു പാര്ത്തു.

10. And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the east side of Gilead.

11. ഗാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അവര്ക്കും എതിരെ ബാശാന് ദേശത്തു സല്ക്കാവരെ പാര്ത്തു.

11. And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salcah:

12. തലവനായ യോവേല്, രണ്ടാമനായ ശാഫാം, യനായി, ബാശാനിലെ ശാഫാത്ത്.

12. Joel was the chief and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13. അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലെ സഹോദരന്മാര്മീഖായേല്, മെശുല്ലാം, ശേബ, യോരായി, യക്കാന് , സീയ, ഏബെര് ഇങ്ങനെ ഏഴുപേര്.

13. And their brethren according to their fathers' houses were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jaachan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

14. ഇവര് ഹൂരിയുടെ മകനായ അബിഹയീലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായിരുന്നു. ഹൂരി യാരോഹയുടെ മകന് ; അവന് ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് മീഖായേലിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് യെശീശയുടെ മകന് ; അവന് യഹദോവിന്റെ മകന് ;

14. -- These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

15. അവന് ബൂസിന്റെ മകന് ; ഗൂനിയുടെ മകനായ അബ്ദീയേലിന്റെ മകന് അഹി അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തില് തലവനായിരുന്നു.

15. Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' house.

16. അവര് ഗിലെയാദിലെ ബാശാനിലും അതിന്നുള്പ്പെട്ട പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും അവരുടെ അതിരുകളോളം ശാരോനിലെ എല്ലാപുല്പുറങ്ങളിലും പാര്ത്തു.

16. And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the pasture-grounds of Sharon, as far as their limits.

17. ഇവരുടെ വംശാവലി ഒക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യോഥാമിന്റെ കാലത്തും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ കാലത്തും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. All these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18. രൂബേന്യരും ഗാദ്യരും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതി ഗോത്രക്കാരും ശൂരന്മാരും വാളും പരിചയും എടുപ്പാനും വില്ലുകുലെച്ചു എയ്വാനും പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ളവരും യുദ്ധസാമര്ത്ഥ്യമുള്ളവരുമായ പടച്ചേവകര് നാല്പത്തുനാലായിരത്തെഴുനൂറ്ററുപതു പേരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

18. The children of Reuben and the Gadites and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men who carried shield and sword, drawing the bow and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, able to go forth to war.

19. അവര് ഹഗ്രീയരോടും യെതൂര്, നാഫീശ്, നോദാബ് എന്നിവരോടും യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.

19. And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab;

20. അവരുടെ നേരെ അവര്ക്കും സഹായം ലഭിക്കയാല് ഹഗ്രീയരും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെല്ലാവരും അവരുടെ കയ്യില് അകപ്പെട്ടു; അവര് യുദ്ധത്തില് ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനില് ആശ്രയം വെച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടരുളി.

20. and they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

21. അവന് അമ്പതിനായിരം ഒട്ടകം, രണ്ടുലക്ഷത്തമ്പതിനായിരം ആടു, രണ്ടായിരം കഴുത എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളെയും ഒരു ലക്ഷം ആളുകളെയും പിടിച്ചു കെണ്ടുപോയി.

21. And they took away their cattle: their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand human souls.

22. യുദ്ധം ദൈവഹിതത്താല് ഉണ്ടായതുകൊണ്ടു അധികംപേര് ഹതന്മാരായി വീണു. അവര് പ്രവാസകാലംവരെ അവര്ക്കും പകരം പാര്ത്തു.

22. For there fell down many slain, for the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

23. മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രക്കാര് ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തു. ബാശാന് മുതല് ബാല്-ഹെര്മ്മോനും, സെനീരും, ഹെര്മ്മോന് പര്വ്വതവും വരെ പെരുകി പരന്നു.

23. And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon and Senir, and mount Hermon; they were many.

24. അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങളുടെ തലവന്മാരാവിതുഏഫെര്, യിശി, എലീയേല്, അസ്ത്രിയേല്, യിരെമ്യാവു, ഹോദവ്യാവു, യഹദീയേല്; ഇവര് ശൂരന്മാരും ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടവരും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങള്ക്കു തലവന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു.

24. And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25. എന്നാല് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തു, ദൈവം അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ദേശത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു ചേര്ന്നു പരസംഗമായി നടന്നു.

25. And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

26. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവായ പൂലിന്റെയും അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവായ തിഗ്ളത്ത്-പില്നേസരിന്റെയും മനസ്സുണര്ത്തി; അവന് രൂബേന്യരെയും ഗാദ്യരെയും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതി ഗോത്രത്തെയും പിടിച്ചു ഹലഹിലേക്കും ഹാബോരിലേക്കും ഹാരയിലേക്കും ഗോസാന് നദീതീരത്തേക്കും കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവിടെ അവര് ഇന്നുവരെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

26. And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, -- unto this day.
