1. അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു ബാബേലില്നിന്നു എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്ന പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരും അവരുടെ വംശാവലികളുമാവിതു

1. These [are] the heads of their fathers' [houses,] and [this is] the genealogy of those who went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of King Artaxerxes:

2. ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഗേര്ശോം; ഈഥാമാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ദാനീയേല്; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഹത്തൂശ്;

2. of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom; of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel; of the sons of David, Hattush;

3. ശെഖന്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് പറോശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് സെഖര്യ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ വംശാവലിയില് എഴുതിയിരുന്ന നൂറ്റമ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

3. of the sons of Shecaniah, of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah; and registered with him [were] one hundred and fifty males;

4. പഹത്ത്-മോവാബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് സെരഹ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ എല്യെഹോവേനായിയും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുനൂറു പുരുഷന്മാരും,

4. of the sons of Pahath-Moab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males;

5. ശെഖന്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യഹസീയേലിന്റെ മകനും അവനോടുകൂടെ മുന്നൂറു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

5. of the sons of Shechaniah, Ben-Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males;

6. ആദീന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യോനാഥാന്റെ മകനായ ഏബെദും അവനോടു കൂടെ അമ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

6. of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males;

7. ഏലാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് അഥല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

7. of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males;

8. ശെഫത്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് മീഖായേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെബദ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ എണ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

8. of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him eighty males;

9. യോബാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യെഹീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ ഔബദ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുനൂറ്റിപതിനെട്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

9. of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males;

10. ശെലോമീത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യോസിഫ്യാവിന്റെ മകനും അവനോടുകൂടെ നൂറ്ററുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

10. of the sons of Shelomith, Ben-Josiphiah, and with him one hundred and sixty males;

11. ബേബായിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ബേബായിയുടെ മകനായ സെഖര്യ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുപത്തെട്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

11. of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty-eight males;

12. അസാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഹക്കാതാന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും അവനോടുകൂടെ നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

12. of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him one hundred and ten males;

13. അദോനീക്കാമിന്റെ ഒടുവിലത്തെ പുത്രന്മാരില് എലീഫേലെത്ത്, യെയീയേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു എന്നിവരും അവരോടുകൂടെ അറുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

13. of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names [are] these -- Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah -- and with them sixty males;

14. ബിഗ്വായുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഊഥായിയും സബൂദും അവരോടുകൂടെ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

14. also of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.

15. ഇവരെ ഞാന് അഹവായിലേക്കു ഒഴുകുന്ന ആറ്റിന്നരികെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി; അവിടെ ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാളയമടിച്ചു പാര്ത്തു; ഞാന് ജനത്തെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ലേവ്യരില് ആരെയും അവിടെ കണ്ടില്ല.

15. Now I gathered them by the river that flows to Ahava, and we camped there three days. And I looked among the people and the priests, and found none of the sons of Levi there.

16. ആകയാല് ഞാന് എലീയേസെര്, അരീയേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു, എല്നാഥാന് , യാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് നാഥാന് , സെഖര്യ്യാവു, മെശുല്ലാം എന്നീ തലവന്മാരെയും യോയാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് എന്ന ഉപാദ്ധ്യായന്മാരെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു,

16. Then I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, leaders; also for Joiarib and Elnathan, men of understanding.

17. കാസിഫ്യാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിലെ പ്രധാനിയായ ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് കാസിഫ്യയിലെ ഇദ്ദോവോടും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരോടും പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വാക്കുകളെ അവര്ക്കും ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

17. And I gave them a command for Iddo the chief man at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say to Iddo [and] his brethren the Nethinim at the place Casiphia -- that they should bring us servants for the house of our God.

18. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതിനാല് അവര് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മകനായ ലേവിയുടെ മകനായ മഹ്ളിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് വിവേകമുള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ശേരബ്യാവു, അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്, സഹോദരന്മാര്

18. Then, by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and brothers, eighteen men;

19. ഇങ്ങനെ പതിനെട്ടുപേരെയും മെരാരിപുത്രന്മാരില്, ഹശബ്യാവു അവനോടുകൂടെ യെശയ്യാവു, അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്, സഹോദരന്മാര്

19. and Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brothers and their sons, twenty men;

20. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുപതുപേരെയും ദാവീദും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ലേവ്യര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരായികൊടുത്ത ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരില് ഇരുനൂറ്റിരുപതുപേരേയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരൊക്കെയും കുറിച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നു.

20. also of the Nethinim, whom David and the leaders had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim. All of them were designated by name.

21. അനന്തരം ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഞങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സകലസമ്പത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി ശുഭയാത്ര അവനോടു യാചിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് അവിടെ അഹവാആറ്റിന്റെ അരികെവെച്ചു ഒരു ഉപവാസം പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തി.

21. Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.

22. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും അനുകൂലമായും അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും പ്രതിക്കുലമായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയില് ശത്രുവിന്റെ നേരെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തുണയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പടയാളികളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും രാജാവിനോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, 'The hand of our God [is] upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath [are] against all those who forsake Him.'

23. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് ഉപവസിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു; അവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു.

23. So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

24. പിന്നെ ഞാന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പ്രധാനികളില്വെച്ചു ശേരെബ്യാവെയും ഹശബ്യാവെയും അവരോടുകൂടെ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് പത്തുപേരെയും ഇങ്ങനെ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

24. And I separated twelve of the leaders of the priests -- Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them --

25. രാജാവും അവന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവിടെയുള്ള യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയംവകെക്കു അര്പ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന വഴിപാടായ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

25. and weighed out to them the silver, the gold, and the articles, the offering for the house of our God which the king and his counselors and his princes, and all Israel [who were] present, had offered.

26. ഞാന് അവരുടെ കയ്യില് അറുനൂറ്റമ്പതു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയുപകരണങ്ങളും നൂറു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും

26. I weighed into their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, silver articles [weighing] one hundred talents, one hundred talents of gold,

27. ആയിരം തങ്കക്കാശു വിലയുള്ള ഇരുപതു പൊന് പാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുപോലെ വിലയുള്ളതായി മിനുക്കിയ നല്ല താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള രണ്ടു പാത്രങ്ങളും തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

27. twenty gold basins [worth] a thousand drachmas, and two vessels of fine polished bronze, precious as gold.

28. ഞാന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരാകുന്നു; ഉപകരണങ്ങളും വിശുദ്ധം തന്നേ; വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു ഔദാര്യ ദാനമാകുന്നു;

28. And I said to them, 'You [are] holy to the LORD; the articles [are] holy also; and the silver and the gold [are] a freewill offering to the LORD God of your fathers.

29. നിങ്ങള് അവയെ യെരൂശലേമില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ അറകളില് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ലേവ്യരുടെയും പ്രധാനികള്ക്കും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്ക്കും തൂക്കി ഏല്പിക്കുംവരെ ജാഗരിച്ചു കാത്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. 'Watch and keep [them] until you weigh [them] before the leaders of the priests and the Levites and heads of the fathers' [houses] of Israel in Jerusalem, [in] the chambers of the house of the LORD.'

30. അങ്ങനെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേമില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു തൂക്കപ്രകാരം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി.

30. So the priests and the Levites received the silver and the gold and the articles by weight, to bring [them] to Jerusalem to the house of our God.

31. യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പോകുവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഒന്നാം മാസം പന്ത്രണ്ടാം തിയ്യതി അഹവാ ആറ്റിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നു; അവന് ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും വഴിയില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ കാത്തു രക്ഷിച്ചു.

31. Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth [day] of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. And the hand of our God was upon us, and He delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambush along the road.

32. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തി അവിടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു.

32. So we came to Jerusalem, and stayed there three days.

33. നാലാം ദിവസം ഞങ്ങള് ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തില് ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ മെരേമോത്തിന്റെ കയ്യില് തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു; അവനോടു കൂടെ ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരും അവരോടുകൂടെ യേശുവയുടെ മകനായ യോസാബാദ്, ബിന്നൂവിയുടെ മകനായ നോവദ്യാവു എന്നീ ലേവ്യരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

33. Now on the fourth day the silver and the gold and the articles were weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest, and with him [was] Eleazar the son of Phinehas; with them [were] the Levites, Jozabad the son of Jeshua and Noadiah the son of Binnui,

34. എല്ലാം എണ്ണപ്രകാരവും തൂക്കപ്രകാരവും കൊടുത്തു; തൂക്കം ഒക്കെയും ആ സമയം തന്നേ എഴുതിവെച്ചു.

34. with the number [and] weight of everything. All the weight was written down at that time.

35. പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന പ്രവാസികള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കായിട്ടു എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി പന്ത്രണ്ടു കാളയെയും തൊണ്ണൂറ്റാറു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എഴുപത്തേഴു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായിട്ടു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും അര്പ്പിച്ചു; അതൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗം ആയിരുന്നു.

35. The children of those who had been carried away captive, who had come from the captivity, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats [as] a sin offering. All [this was] a burnt offering to the LORD.

36. അവര് രാജാവിന്റെ ആജ്ഞാപത്രങ്ങള് നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെ രാജാവിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനപതിമാര്ക്കും നാടുവാഴികള്ക്കും കൊടുത്തുഅവര് ജനത്തിന്നും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടുന്ന സഹായം ചെയ്തു.

36. And they delivered the king's orders to the king's satraps and the governors [in the region] beyond the River. So they gave support to the people and the house of God.
