1. These are the leaders of family groups and the family names of those who went up with me from Babylon during the rule of King Artaxerxes:

2. ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഗേര്ശോം; ഈഥാമാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ദാനീയേല്; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഹത്തൂശ്;

2. there was Gershom of the sons of Phinehas, Daniel of the sons of Ithamar, and from the house of David, Hattush,

3. ശെഖന്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് പറോശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് സെഖര്യ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ വംശാവലിയില് എഴുതിയിരുന്ന നൂറ്റമ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

3. the son of Shecaniah. There was Zechariah of the sons of Parosh, and with him were 150 men whose family names were written down.

4. പഹത്ത്-മോവാബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് സെരഹ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ എല്യെഹോവേനായിയും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുനൂറു പുരുഷന്മാരും,

4. Of the sons of Pahath-moab, there was Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah, and 200 men with him.

5. ശെഖന്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യഹസീയേലിന്റെ മകനും അവനോടുകൂടെ മുന്നൂറു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

5. Of the sons of Zattu, there was Shecaniah the son of Jahaziel, and 300 men with him.

6. ആദീന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യോനാഥാന്റെ മകനായ ഏബെദും അവനോടു കൂടെ അമ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

6. Of the sons of Adin, there was Ebed the son of Jonathan, and fifty men with him.

7. ഏലാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് അഥല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

7. Of the sons of Elam, there was Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and seventy men with him.

8. ശെഫത്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് മീഖായേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെബദ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ എണ്പതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

8. Of the sons of Shephatiah, there was Zebadiah the son of Michael, and eighty men with him.

9. യോബാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യെഹീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ ഔബദ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുനൂറ്റിപതിനെട്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

9. Of the sons of Joab, there was Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and 218 men with him.

10. ശെലോമീത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യോസിഫ്യാവിന്റെ മകനും അവനോടുകൂടെ നൂറ്ററുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

10. Of the sons of Shelomith there was the son of Josiphiah, and 160 men with him.

11. ബേബായിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ബേബായിയുടെ മകനായ സെഖര്യ്യാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുപത്തെട്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

11. Of the sons of Bebai, there was Zechariah the son of Bebai, and twenty-eight men with him.

12. അസാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഹക്കാതാന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും അവനോടുകൂടെ നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

12. Of the sons of Azgad, there was Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and 110 men with him.

13. അദോനീക്കാമിന്റെ ഒടുവിലത്തെ പുത്രന്മാരില് എലീഫേലെത്ത്, യെയീയേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു എന്നിവരും അവരോടുകൂടെ അറുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

13. Of the sons of Adonikam, the last to come, there were Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and sixty men with them.

14. ബിഗ്വായുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഊഥായിയും സബൂദും അവരോടുകൂടെ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും.

14. Of the sons of Bigvai, there were Uthai and Zabbud, and seventy men with them.

15. ഇവരെ ഞാന് അഹവായിലേക്കു ഒഴുകുന്ന ആറ്റിന്നരികെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി; അവിടെ ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാളയമടിച്ചു പാര്ത്തു; ഞാന് ജനത്തെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ലേവ്യരില് ആരെയും അവിടെ കണ്ടില്ല.

15. I gathered them at the river that flows to Ahava, where we had our camp for three days. When I saw the people and the religious leaders, I did not find any Levites there.

16. ആകയാല് ഞാന് എലീയേസെര്, അരീയേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു, എല്നാഥാന് , യാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് നാഥാന് , സെഖര്യ്യാവു, മെശുല്ലാം എന്നീ തലവന്മാരെയും യോയാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് എന്ന ഉപാദ്ധ്യായന്മാരെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു,

16. So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, who were leaders, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, who were teachers.

17. കാസിഫ്യാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിലെ പ്രധാനിയായ ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് കാസിഫ്യയിലെ ഇദ്ദോവോടും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരോടും പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വാക്കുകളെ അവര്ക്കും ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

17. I sent them to Iddo, the leader at Casiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his brothers, servants in the house of worship at Casiphia. They were to bring men to us to care for the house of our God.

18. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതിനാല് അവര് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മകനായ ലേവിയുടെ മകനായ മഹ്ളിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരില് വിവേകമുള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ശേരബ്യാവു, അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്, സഹോദരന്മാര്

18. And by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of wisdom, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel. His name is Sherebiah, and with him came his sons and brothers, eighteen men.

19. They also brought Hashabiah and Jeshaiah of the sons of Morari, with his brothers and their sons, twenty men.

20. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുപതുപേരെയും ദാവീദും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ലേവ്യര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരായികൊടുത്ത ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരില് ഇരുനൂറ്റിരുപതുപേരേയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരൊക്കെയും കുറിച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നു.

20. They brought 220 men to work in the house of God, whom David and the leaders had chosen to help the Levites. All of them were chosen by name.

21. അനന്തരം ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഞങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സകലസമ്പത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി ശുഭയാത്ര അവനോടു യാചിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് അവിടെ അഹവാആറ്റിന്റെ അരികെവെച്ചു ഒരു ഉപവാസം പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തി.

21. Then I set apart a time there at the river of Ahava when we would not eat any food. This was so we might put away our pride before our God, and pray that He would keep us and our children and all our things safe as we traveled.

22. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും അനുകൂലമായും അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും പ്രതിക്കുലമായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയില് ശത്രുവിന്റെ നേരെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തുണയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പടയാളികളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും രാജാവിനോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to keep us safe from those who hate us on the way, because we had said to the king, 'The hand of our God brings good to all who look for Him. But His power and His anger are against all who turn away from Him.'

23. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് ഉപവസിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു; അവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു.

23. So we did not eat, and prayed to God about this. And He listened to our prayer.

24. പിന്നെ ഞാന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പ്രധാനികളില്വെച്ചു ശേരെബ്യാവെയും ഹശബ്യാവെയും അവരോടുകൂടെ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് പത്തുപേരെയും ഇങ്ങനെ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

24. Then I set apart twelve of the head religious leaders: Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers.

25. രാജാവും അവന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവിടെയുള്ള യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയംവകെക്കു അര്പ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന വഴിപാടായ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

25. And I weighed and gave to them the silver, the gold and the dishes and objects, which had been given for the house of our God by the king and his wise men and leaders, and all the people of Israel who were there.

26. ഞാന് അവരുടെ കയ്യില് അറുനൂറ്റമ്പതു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയുപകരണങ്ങളും നൂറു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും

26. I gave them silver weighing as much as 650 men, silver dishes and objects weighing as much as 100 men, and gold weighing as much as 100 men.

27. ആയിരം തങ്കക്കാശു വിലയുള്ള ഇരുപതു പൊന് പാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുപോലെ വിലയുള്ളതായി മിനുക്കിയ നല്ല താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള രണ്ടു പാത്രങ്ങളും തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

27. I gave them twenty deep, gold dishes, worth 1,000 gold-pieces, and two pots of fine shining brass, worth as much as gold.

28. ഞാന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരാകുന്നു; ഉപകരണങ്ങളും വിശുദ്ധം തന്നേ; വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു ഔദാര്യ ദാനമാകുന്നു;

28. Then I said to them, 'You are holy to the Lord, and these objects are holy. The silver and the gold are a free-will gift to the Lord God of your fathers.

29. നിങ്ങള് അവയെ യെരൂശലേമില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ അറകളില് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ലേവ്യരുടെയും പ്രധാനികള്ക്കും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്ക്കും തൂക്കി ഏല്പിക്കുംവരെ ജാഗരിച്ചു കാത്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Watch and keep them until you weigh them in front of the head religious leaders, the Levites, and the heads of the family groups of Israel at Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord.'

30. അങ്ങനെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേമില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു തൂക്കപ്രകാരം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി.

30. So the religious leaders and the Levites took the weight of silver and gold and objects, to bring them to the house of our God at Jerusalem.

31. യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പോകുവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഒന്നാം മാസം പന്ത്രണ്ടാം തിയ്യതി അഹവാ ആറ്റിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നു; അവന് ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും വഴിയില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ കാത്തു രക്ഷിച്ചു.

31. Then we left the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. And God helped us and kept us safe from those who hated us and from those who hid waiting to fight us on the way.

32. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തി അവിടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു.

32. We came to Jerusalem and stayed there for three days.

33. നാലാം ദിവസം ഞങ്ങള് ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തില് ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ മെരേമോത്തിന്റെ കയ്യില് തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു; അവനോടു കൂടെ ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരും അവരോടുകൂടെ യേശുവയുടെ മകനായ യോസാബാദ്, ബിന്നൂവിയുടെ മകനായ നോവദ്യാവു എന്നീ ലേവ്യരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

33. On the fourth day the silver and gold and objects were weighed in the house of our God and given to Meremoth the son of Uriah the religious leader. With him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas. And with them were the Levites, Jozabad the son of Jeshua and Noadiah the son of Binnui.

34. എല്ലാം എണ്ണപ്രകാരവും തൂക്കപ്രകാരവും കൊടുത്തു; തൂക്കം ഒക്കെയും ആ സമയം തന്നേ എഴുതിവെച്ചു.

34. Everything was numbered and weighed, and all the weight was written down.

35. പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന പ്രവാസികള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കായിട്ടു എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി പന്ത്രണ്ടു കാളയെയും തൊണ്ണൂറ്റാറു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എഴുപത്തേഴു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായിട്ടു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും അര്പ്പിച്ചു; അതൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗം ആയിരുന്നു.

35. The people who had returned from Babylon gave burnt gifts in worship to the God of Israel. They gave 12 bulls for all Israel, 96 rams, 77 lambs, and 12 male goats for a sin gift. All this was a burnt gift to the Lord.

36. അവര് രാജാവിന്റെ ആജ്ഞാപത്രങ്ങള് നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെ രാജാവിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനപതിമാര്ക്കും നാടുവാഴികള്ക്കും കൊടുത്തുഅവര് ജനത്തിന്നും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടുന്ന സഹായം ചെയ്തു.

36. Then they let the king's rulers and leaders in the lands on the other side of the River know what the king said for them to do. And they helped the people and the house of God.
