1. These are the family heads and those who signed up to go up with me from Babylon in the reign of Artaxerxes the king:

2. ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഗേര്ശോം; ഈഥാമാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ദാനീയേല്; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഹത്തൂശ്;

2. From the family of Phinehas: Gershom; Family of Ithamar: Daniel; Family of David: Hattush;

14. Family of Bigvai: Uthai and Zaccur, and 70 men.

15. ഇവരെ ഞാന് അഹവായിലേക്കു ഒഴുകുന്ന ആറ്റിന്നരികെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി; അവിടെ ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാളയമടിച്ചു പാര്ത്തു; ഞാന് ജനത്തെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ലേവ്യരില് ആരെയും അവിടെ കണ്ടില്ല.

15. I gathered them together at the canal that runs to Ahava. We camped there three days. I looked them over and found that they were all laymen and priests but no Levites.

16. ആകയാല് ഞാന് എലീയേസെര്, അരീയേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു, എല്നാഥാന് , യാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് നാഥാന് , സെഖര്യ്യാവു, മെശുല്ലാം എന്നീ തലവന്മാരെയും യോയാരീബ്, എല്നാഥാന് എന്ന ഉപാദ്ധ്യായന്മാരെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു,

16. So I sent for the leaders Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, and for the teachers Joiarib and Elnathan.

17. കാസിഫ്യാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിലെ പ്രധാനിയായ ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് കാസിഫ്യയിലെ ഇദ്ദോവോടും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരോടും പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വാക്കുകളെ അവര്ക്കും ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

17. I then sent them to Iddo, who is head of the town of Casiphia, and told them what to say to Iddo and his relatives who lived there in Casiphia: 'Send us ministers for The Temple of God.'

18. Well, the generous hand of our God was on us, and they brought back to us a wise man from the family of Mahli son of Levi, the son of Israel. His name was Sherebiah. With sons and brothers they numbered eighteen.

19. They also brought Hashabiah and Jeshaiah of the family of Merari, with brothers and their sons, another twenty.

20. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുപതുപേരെയും ദാവീദും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ലേവ്യര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരായികൊടുത്ത ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരില് ഇരുനൂറ്റിരുപതുപേരേയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരൊക്കെയും കുറിച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നു.

20. And then there were 220 temple servants, descendants of the temple servants that David and the princes had assigned to help the Levites in their work. They were all signed up by name.

21. അനന്തരം ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഞങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികള്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സകലസമ്പത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി ശുഭയാത്ര അവനോടു യാചിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് അവിടെ അഹവാആറ്റിന്റെ അരികെവെച്ചു ഒരു ഉപവാസം പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തി.

21. I proclaimed a fast there beside the Ahava Canal, a fast to humble ourselves before our God and pray for wise guidance for our journey--all our people and possessions.

22. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും അനുകൂലമായും അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും പ്രതിക്കുലമായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയില് ശത്രുവിന്റെ നേരെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തുണയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പടയാളികളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും രാജാവിനോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. I was embarrassed to ask the king for a cavalry bodyguard to protect us from bandits on the road. We had just told the king, 'Our God lovingly looks after all those who seek him, but turns away in disgust from those who leave him.'

23. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് ഉപവസിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു; അവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു.

23. So we fasted and prayed about these concerns. And he listened.

24. Then I picked twelve of the leading priests--Sherebiah and Hashabiah with ten of their brothers.

25. I weighed out for them the silver, the gold, the vessels, and the offerings for The Temple of our God that the king, his advisors, and all the Israelites had given:

26. ഞാന് അവരുടെ കയ്യില് അറുനൂറ്റമ്പതു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയുപകരണങ്ങളും നൂറു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും

26. 25 tons of silver, 100 vessels of silver valued at three and three-quarter tons, three and three-quarter tons of gold

27. ആയിരം തങ്കക്കാശു വിലയുള്ള ഇരുപതു പൊന് പാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുപോലെ വിലയുള്ളതായി മിനുക്കിയ നല്ല താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള രണ്ടു പാത്രങ്ങളും തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

27. 20 gold bowls weighing eighteen and a half pounds, 2 vessels of bright red copper, as valuable as gold.

28. ഞാന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരാകുന്നു; ഉപകരണങ്ങളും വിശുദ്ധം തന്നേ; വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു ഔദാര്യ ദാനമാകുന്നു;

28. I said to them, 'You are holy to GOD and these vessels are holy. The silver and gold are Freewill-Offerings to the GOD of your ancestors.

29. നിങ്ങള് അവയെ യെരൂശലേമില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ അറകളില് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ലേവ്യരുടെയും പ്രധാനികള്ക്കും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്ക്കും തൂക്കി ഏല്പിക്കുംവരെ ജാഗരിച്ചു കാത്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Guard them with your lives until you're able to weigh them out in a secure place in The Temple of our God for the priests and Levites and family heads who are in charge in Jerusalem.'

30. അങ്ങനെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേമില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു തൂക്കപ്രകാരം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി.

30. The priests and Levites took charge of all that had been weighed out to them, and prepared to deliver it to Jerusalem to The Temple of our God.

31. യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പോകുവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഒന്നാം മാസം പന്ത്രണ്ടാം തിയ്യതി അഹവാ ആറ്റിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നു; അവന് ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും വഴിയില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ കാത്തു രക്ഷിച്ചു.

31. We left the Ahava Canal on the twelfth day of the first month to travel to Jerusalem. God was with us all the way and kept us safe from bandits and highwaymen.

32. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തി അവിടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു.

32. We arrived in Jerusalem and waited there three days.

33. നാലാം ദിവസം ഞങ്ങള് ആ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തില് ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ മെരേമോത്തിന്റെ കയ്യില് തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു; അവനോടു കൂടെ ഫീനെഹാസിന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരും അവരോടുകൂടെ യേശുവയുടെ മകനായ യോസാബാദ്, ബിന്നൂവിയുടെ മകനായ നോവദ്യാവു എന്നീ ലേവ്യരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

33. On the fourth day the silver and gold and vessels were weighed out in The Temple of our God into the hands of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest. Eleazar son of Phinehas was there with him, also the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.

34. എല്ലാം എണ്ണപ്രകാരവും തൂക്കപ്രകാരവും കൊടുത്തു; തൂക്കം ഒക്കെയും ആ സമയം തന്നേ എഴുതിവെച്ചു.

34. Everything was counted and weighed and the totals recorded.

35. പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന പ്രവാസികള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കായിട്ടു എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി പന്ത്രണ്ടു കാളയെയും തൊണ്ണൂറ്റാറു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എഴുപത്തേഴു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായിട്ടു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും അര്പ്പിച്ചു; അതൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗം ആയിരുന്നു.

35. When they arrived, the exiles, now returned from captivity, offered Whole-Burnt-Offerings to the God of Israel: 12 bulls, representing all Israel, 96 rams, 77 lambs, 12 he-goats as an Absolution-Offering. All of this was sacrificed as a Whole-Burnt-Offering to GOD.

36. അവര് രാജാവിന്റെ ആജ്ഞാപത്രങ്ങള് നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെ രാജാവിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനപതിമാര്ക്കും നാടുവാഴികള്ക്കും കൊടുത്തുഅവര് ജനത്തിന്നും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടുന്ന സഹായം ചെയ്തു.

36. They also delivered the king's orders to the king's provincial administration assigned to the land beyond the Euphrates. They, in turn, gave their support to the people and The Temple of God.
