1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Job answered and said:

2. നീ ശക്തിയില്ലാത്തവന്നു എന്തു സഹായം ചെയ്തു? ബലമില്ലാത്ത ഭുജത്തെ എങ്ങനെ താങ്ങി?

2. How have you helped the powerless, or saved the arm with no strength?

3. ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവന്നു എന്താലോചന പറഞ്ഞു കൊടുത്തു? ജ്ഞാനം എത്ര ധാരാളം ഉപദേശിച്ചു?

3. How have you advised the ones not wise or fully declared wise plans?

4. ആരെയാകുന്നു നീ വാക്യം കേള്പ്പിച്ചതു? ആരുടെ ശ്വാസം നിന്നില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു;

4. With whom have you spoken words? And whose breath came forth from you?

5. വെള്ളത്തിന്നും അതിലെ നിവാസികള്ക്കും കീഴെ പ്രേതങ്ങള് നൊന്തു നടുങ്ങുന്നു.

5. The departed spirits are made to writhe from beneath the waters, and their inhabitants.

6. പാതാളം അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് തുറന്നുകിടക്കുന്നു; നരകം മറയില്ലാതെയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Sheol is naked before Him, and the Pit has no covering.

7. ഉത്തരദിക്കിനെ അവന് ശൂന്യത്തിന്മേല് വിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയെ നാസ്തിത്വത്തിന്മേല് തൂക്കുന്നു.

7. He stretched out the north over the empty place; and He hung the earth on nothing.

8. അവന് വെള്ളത്തെ മേഘങ്ങളില് കെട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; അതു വഹിച്ചിട്ടു കാര്മുകില് കീറിപ്പോകുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. He binds up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud does not burst under them.

9. തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ ദര്ശനം അവന് മറെച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു; അതിന്മേല് തന്റെ മേഘം വിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. He covers the face of His throne, spreading His cloud over it.

10. അവന് വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെയും ഇരുട്ടിന്റെയും അറ്റത്തോളം വെള്ളത്തിന്മേല് ഒരു അതിര് വരെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. He has described a circle on the surface of the waters to the boundary of light with darkness.

11. ആകാശത്തിന്റെ തൂണുകള് കുലുങ്ങുന്നു; അവന്റെ തര്ജ്ജനത്താല് അവ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

11. The pillars of the heavens tremble and are stunned at His rebuke.

12. അവന് തന്റെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു സമുദ്രത്തെ ഇളക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ വിവേകംകൊണ്ടു രഹബിനെ തകര്ക്കുംന്നു.

12. With His power He quiets the sea, and by His understanding He shatters pride.

13. അവന്റെ ശ്വാസത്താല് ആകാശം ശോഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ വിദ്രുതസര്പ്പത്തെ കുത്തിത്തുളെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. By His Spirit the heavens were beautiful; His hand pierced the fleeing snake.

14. എന്നാല് ഇവ അവന്റെ വഴികളുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളത്രേ; നാം അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു മന്ദസ്വരമേ കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളു. അവന്റെ ബലത്തിന്റെ ഇടിമുഴക്കമോ ആര് ഗ്രഹിക്കും?

14. Lo, these are the edges of His ways; yea, what a whisper of a word we hear of Him! And the thunder of His might who can understand?
