1. എങ്കിലോ ഇയ്യോബേ, എന്റെ ഭാഷണം കേട്ടുകൊള്ക; എന്റെ സകലവാക്കുകളും ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

1. 'Listen to my words, Job; pay attention to what I have to say.

2. ഇതാ, ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് എന്റെ വായ്തുറക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വായില് എന്റെ നാവു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Now that I have begun to speak, let me continue.

3. എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് എന്റെ ഉള്ളിലെ നേര് ഉച്ചരിക്കും. എന്റെ അധരങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നതു അവ പരമാര്ത്ഥമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.

3. I speak with all sincerity; I speak the truth.

4. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു എന്നെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ശ്വാസം എനിക്കു ജീവനെ തരുന്നു.

4. For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

5. നിനക്കു കഴിയുമെങ്കില് എന്നോടു പ്രതിവാദിക്ക; സന്നദ്ധനായി എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നുകൊള്ക.

5. Answer me, if you can; make your case and take your stand.

6. ഇതാ, നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഞാനും ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളവന് ; എന്നെയും മണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു നിര്മ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Look, you and I both belong to God. I, too, was formed from clay.

7. എന്റെ ഭീഷണി നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; എന്റെ ഘനം നിനക്കു ഭാരമായിരിക്കയുമില്ല.

7. So you don't need to be afraid of me. I won't come down hard on you.

8. ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ നീ പറഞ്ഞതും നിന്റെ വാക്കു ഞാന് കേട്ടതും എന്തെന്നാല്

8. 'You have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard your very words.

9. ഞാന് ലംഘനം ഇല്ലാത്ത നിര്മ്മലന് ; ഞാന് നിര്ദ്ദോഷി; എന്നില് അകൃത്യവുമില്ല.

9. You said, 'I am pure; I am without sin; I am innocent; I have no guilt.

10. അവന് എന്റെ നേരെ വിരുദ്ധങ്ങളെ കണ്ടു പിടിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ തനിക്കു ശത്രുവായി വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

10. God is picking a quarrel with me, and he considers me his enemy.

11. അവന് എന്റെ കാലുകളെ ആമത്തില് ഇടുന്നു; എന്റെ പാതകളെ ഒക്കെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കുന്നു.

11. He puts my feet in the stocks and watches my every move.'

12. ഇതിന്നു ഞന് നിന്നോടു ഉത്തരം പറയാംഇതില് നീ നീതിമാന് അല്ല; ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനെക്കാള് വലിയവനല്ലോ.

12. 'But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.

13. നീ അവനോടു എന്തിന്നു വാദിക്കുന്നു? തന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളില് ഒന്നിന്നും അവന് കാരണം പറയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

13. So why are you bringing a charge against him? Why say he does not respond to people's complaints?

14. ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ വട്ടം ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന് അതു കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

14. For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.

15. ഗാഢനിദ്ര മനുഷ്യര്ക്കുംണ്ടാകുമ്പോള്, അവര് ശയ്യമേല് നിദ്രകൊള്ളുമ്പോള്, സ്വപ്നത്തില്, രാത്രിദര്ശനത്തില് തന്നേ,

15. He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds.

16. അവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ ചെവി തുറക്കുന്നു; അവരോടുള്ള പ്രബോധനെക്കു മുദ്രയിടുന്നു.

16. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings.

17. മനുഷ്യനെ അവന്റെ ദുഷ്കര്മ്മത്തില്നിന്നു അകറ്റുവാനും പുരുഷനെ ഗര്വ്വത്തില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിപ്പാനും തന്നേ.

17. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride.

18. അവന് കുഴിയില്നിന്നു അവന്റെ പ്രാണനെയും വാളാല് നശിക്കാതവണ്ണം അവന്റെ ജീവനെയും കാക്കുന്നു.

18. He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death.

19. തന്റെ കിടക്കമേല് അവന് വേദനയാല് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളില് ഇടവിടാതെ പോരാട്ടം ഉണ്ടു.

19. 'Or God disciplines people with pain on their sickbeds, with ceaseless aching in their bones.

20. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ജീവന് അപ്പവും അവന്റെ പ്രാണന് സ്വാദുഭോജനവും വെറുക്കുന്നു.

20. They lose their appetite for even the most delicious food.

21. അവന്റെ മാംസം ക്ഷയിച്ചു കാണ്മാനില്ലാതെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; കാണ്മാനില്ലാതിരുന്ന അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് പൊങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നു.

21. Their flesh wastes away, and their bones stick out.

22. അവന്റെ പ്രാണന് ശവകൂഴിക്കും അവന്റെ ജീവന് നാശകന്മാര്ക്കും അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. They are at death's door; the angels of death wait for them.

23. മനുഷ്യനോടു അവന്റെ ധര്മ്മം അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആയിരത്തില് ഒരുത്തനായി മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥനായോരു ദൂതന് അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഉണ്ടെന്നുവരികില്

23. 'But if an angel from heaven appears-- a special messenger to intercede for a person and declare that he is upright--

24. അവന് അവങ്കല് കൃപ വിചാരിച്ചുകുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങാതവണ്ണം ഇവനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് ഒരു മറുവില കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയും

24. he will be gracious and say, 'Rescue him from the grave, for I have found a ransom for his life.'

25. അപ്പോള് അവന്റെ ദേഹം യൌവനചൈതന്യത്താല് പുഷ്ടിവേക്കും; അവന് ബാല്യപ്രായത്തിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുവരും.

25. Then his body will become as healthy as a child's, firm and youthful again.

26. അവന് ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; അവന് അവങ്കല് പ്രസാദിക്കും; തിരുമുഖത്തെ അവന് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കാണും; അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു അവന്റെ നീതിയെ പകരം കൊടുക്കും.

26. When he prays to God, he will be accepted. And God will receive him with joy and restore him to good standing.

27. അവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പില് പാടി പറയുന്നതുഞാന് പാപം ചെയ്തു നേരായുള്ളതു മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്നു എന്നോടു പകരം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

27. He will declare to his friends, 'I sinned and twisted the truth, but it was not worth it.

28. അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങാതവണ്ണം രക്ഷിച്ചു; എന്റെ ജീവന് പ്രകാശത്തെ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

28. God rescued me from the grave, and now my life is filled with light.'

29. ഇതാ, ദൈവം രണ്ടു മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഇവയൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യനോടു ചെയ്യുന്നു.

29. 'Yes, God does these things again and again for people.

30. അവന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കുഴിയില്നിന്നു കരേറ്റേണ്ടതിന്നും ജീവന്റെ പ്രകാശംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

30. He rescues them from the grave so they may enjoy the light of life.

31. ഇയ്യോബേ, ശ്രദ്ധവെച്ചു കേള്ക്ക; മിണ്ടാതെയിരിക്ക; ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കാം.

31. Mark this well, Job. Listen to me, for I have more to say.

32. നിനക്കു ഉത്തരം പറവാനുണ്ടെങ്കില് പറക; സംസാരിക്ക; നിന്നെ നീതീകരിപ്പാന് ആകുന്നു എന്റെ താല്പര്യം.

32. But if you have anything to say, go ahead. Speak, for I am anxious to see you justified.

33. ഇല്ലെന്നുവരികില്, നീ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്ക; മിണ്ടാതിരിക്ക; ഞാന് നിനക്കു ജ്ഞാനം ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരാം.

33. But if not, then listen to me. Keep silent and I will teach you wisdom!'
