1. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. A Psalm of David. Yahweh, I have called on you; hurry to me: Give ear to my voice, when I call to you.

2. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വേഗം വരേണമേ; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കേണമേ.

2. May my prayer be placed as incense before you; The lifting of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

3. Set a watch, O Yahweh, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വായക്കു ഒരു കാവല് നിര്ത്തി, എന്റെ അധരദ്വാരം കാക്കേണമേ.

4. Don't incline my heart to any evil thing, To do deeds of wickedness With men who work iniquity: And don't let me eat of their dainties.

5. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഇടപെടുവാന് എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ദുഷ്കാര്യത്തിന്നു ചായ്ക്കരുതേ; അവരുടെ സ്വാദുഭോജനം ഞാന് കഴിക്കയുമരുതേ.

5. Let the righteous strike me [it will be] a kindness; And let him reprove me, [it will be as] oil on the head; Don't let my head refuse it: For continually my prayer is against their evil deeds.

6. നീതിമാന് എന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നതു ദയ; അവന് എന്നെ ശാസിക്കുന്നതു തലെക്കു എണ്ണ; എന്റെ തല അതിനെ വിലക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇനി അവര് ചെയ്യുന്ന ദോഷങ്ങള്ക്കെതിരെ എനിക്കു പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയേയുള്ളു.

6. Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they will hear my words; for they are sweet.

7. അവരുടെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ പാറമേല് നിന്നു തള്ളിയിടും; എന്റെ വാക്കുകള് ഇമ്പമുള്ളവയാകയാല് അവര് അവയെ കേള്ക്കും.

7. As a millstone broken on the earth, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

8. നിലം ഉഴുതു മറിച്ചിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അസ്ഥികള് പാതാളത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്നു.

8. For my eyes are to you, O Yahweh the Lord: In you I take refuge; don't leave my soul destitute.

9. കര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ കണ്ണു നിങ്കലേക്കു ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ തൂകിക്കളയരുതേ.

9. Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

10. അവര് എനിക്കു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കണിയിലും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ കുടുക്കുകളിലും അകപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ കാക്കേണമേ.

10. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, While I nevertheless escape.
