1. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. A Psalm, by David. O Jehovah, I have called Thee, haste to me, Give ear [to] my voice when I call to Thee.

2. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വേഗം വരേണമേ; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കേണമേ.

2. My prayer is prepared -- incense before Thee, The lifting up of my hands -- the evening present.

3. Set, O Jehovah, a watch for my mouth, Watch Thou over the door of my lips.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വായക്കു ഒരു കാവല് നിര്ത്തി, എന്റെ അധരദ്വാരം കാക്കേണമേ.

4. Incline not my heart to an evil thing, To do habitually actions in wickedness, With men working iniquity, Yea, I eat not of their pleasant things.

5. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഇടപെടുവാന് എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ദുഷ്കാര്യത്തിന്നു ചായ്ക്കരുതേ; അവരുടെ സ്വാദുഭോജനം ഞാന് കഴിക്കയുമരുതേ.

5. The righteous doth beat me [in] kindness. And doth reprove me, Oil of the head my head disalloweth not, For still my prayer [is] about their vexations.

6. നീതിമാന് എന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നതു ദയ; അവന് എന്നെ ശാസിക്കുന്നതു തലെക്കു എണ്ണ; എന്റെ തല അതിനെ വിലക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇനി അവര് ചെയ്യുന്ന ദോഷങ്ങള്ക്കെതിരെ എനിക്കു പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയേയുള്ളു.

6. Their judges have been released by the sides of a rock, And they have heard my sayings, For they have been pleasant.

7. അവരുടെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ പാറമേല് നിന്നു തള്ളിയിടും; എന്റെ വാക്കുകള് ഇമ്പമുള്ളവയാകയാല് അവര് അവയെ കേള്ക്കും.

7. As one tilling and ripping up in the land, Have our bones been scattered at the command of Saul.

8. നിലം ഉഴുതു മറിച്ചിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അസ്ഥികള് പാതാളത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്നു.

8. But to Thee, O Jehovah, my Lord, [are] mine eyes, In Thee I have trusted, Make not bare my soul.

9. കര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ കണ്ണു നിങ്കലേക്കു ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ തൂകിക്കളയരുതേ.

9. Keep me from the gin they laid for me, Even snares of workers of iniquity.

10. അവര് എനിക്കു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കണിയിലും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ കുടുക്കുകളിലും അകപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ കാക്കേണമേ.
