1. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു വാദിക്കുന്നവരോടു വാദിക്കേണമേ; എന്നോടു പൊരുതുന്നവരോടു പെരുതേണമേ.

1. [By David.] O LORD, fight those who fight with me! Attack those who attack me!

2. നീ പലകയും പരിചയും പിടിച്ചു എനിക്കു സഹായത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ.

2. Grab your small shield and large shield, and rise up to help me!

3. നീ കുന്തം ഊരി എന്നെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരുടെ വഴി അടെച്ചുകളയേണമേ; ഞാന് നിന്റെ രക്ഷയാകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനോടു പറയേണമേ.

3. Use your spear and lance against those who chase me! Assure me with these words: 'I am your deliverer!'

4. എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും വരട്ടെ; എനിക്കു അനര്ത്ഥം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവര് പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു നാണിച്ചു പോകട്ടെ.

4. May those who seek my life be embarrassed and humiliated! May those who plan to harm me be turned back and ashamed!

5. അവര് കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പിലെ പതിര്പോലെ ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് അവരെ ഔടിക്കട്ടെ.

5. May they be like wind-driven chaff, as the LORD's angel attacks them!

6. അവരുടെ വഴി ഇരുട്ടും വഴുവഴുപ്പും ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് അവരെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.

6. May their path be dark and slippery, as the LORD's angel chases them!

7. കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവര് എനിക്കായി വല ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു; കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവര് എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നായി കുഴി കുഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me.

8. Let destruction take them by surprise! Let the net they hid catch them! Let them fall into destruction!

9. Then I will rejoice in the LORD and be happy because of his deliverance.

10. യഹോവേ, നിനക്കു തുല്യന് ആര്? എളിയവനെ തന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനുമായവനെ കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും നീ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ഒക്കെയും പറയും.

10. With all my strength I will say, 'O LORD, who can compare to you? You rescue the oppressed from those who try to overpower them; the oppressed and needy from those who try to rob them.'

11. കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷികള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞാന് അറിയാത്ത കാര്യം എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു.

11. Violent men perjure themselves, and falsely accuse me.

12. അവര് എനിക്കു നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മചെയ്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു അനാഥത്വം വരുത്തുന്നു.

12. They repay me evil for the good I have done; I am overwhelmed with sorrow.

13. ഞാനോ, അവര് ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നപ്പോള് രട്ടുടുത്തു; ഉപവാസംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ആത്മതപനം ചെയ്തു; എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന എന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

13. When they were sick, I wore sackcloth, and refrained from eating food. (If I am lying, may my prayers go unanswered!)

14. I mourned for them as I would for a friend or my brother. I bowed down in sorrow as if I were mourning for my mother.

15. അവരോ എന്റെ വീഴ്ചയിങ്കല് സന്തോഷിച്ചു കൂട്ടംകൂടി; ഞാന് അറിയാത്ത അധമന്മാര് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂടിവന്നു. അവര് ഇടവിടാതെ എന്നെ പഴിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

15. But when I stumbled, they rejoiced and gathered together; they gathered together to ambush me. They tore at me without stopping to rest.

16. When I tripped, they taunted me relentlessly, and tried to bite me.

17. കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എത്രത്തോളം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും? അവരുടെ നാശത്തില്നിന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജിവനെയും വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.

17. O Lord, how long are you going to just stand there and watch this? Rescue me from their destructive attacks; guard my life from the young lions!

18. ഞാന് മഹാസഭയില് നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും; ബഹുജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും.

18. Then I will give you thanks in the great assembly; I will praise you before a large crowd of people!

19. വെറുതെ എനിക്കു ശത്രുക്കളായവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ; കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവര് കണ്ണിമെക്കയുമരുതേ.

19. Do not let those who are my enemies for no reason gloat over me! Do not let those who hate me without cause carry out their wicked schemes!

20. അവര് സമാധാനവാക്കു സംസാരിക്കാതെ ദേശത്തിലെ സാധുക്കളുടെ നേരെ വ്യാജകാര്യങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.

20. For they do not try to make peace with others, but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting.

21. അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ന്നുനന്നായി, ഞങ്ങള് സ്വന്തകണ്ണാല് കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. They are ready to devour me; they say, 'Aha! Aha! We've got you!'

22. യഹോവേ, നീ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ; മൌനമായിരിക്കരുതേ; കര്ത്താവേ, എന്നോടകന്നിരിക്കരുതേ,

22. But you take notice, LORD! O Lord, do not remain far away from me!

23. എന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്റെ കര്ത്താവുമായുള്ളോവേ, ഉണര്ന്നു എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിന്നും വ്യവഹാരത്തിന്നും ജാഗരിക്കേണമേ.

23. Rouse yourself, wake up and vindicate me! My God and Lord, defend my just cause!

24. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നീതിപ്രകാരം എനിക്കു ന്യായം പാലിച്ചു തരേണമേ; അവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ.

24. Vindicate me by your justice, O LORD my God! Do not let them gloat over me!

25. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്നന്നായി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആഗ്രഹം സാധിച്ചു എന്നു പറയരുതേ; ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നും പറയരുതേ.

25. Do not let them say to themselves, 'Aha! We have what we wanted!' Do not let them say, 'We have devoured him!'

26. എന്റെ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് സന്തോഷിയക്കുന്നവര് ഒരുപോലെ ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ, എന്റെ നേരെ വമ്പുപറയുന്നവര് ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും ധരിക്കട്ടെ.

26. May those who want to harm me be totally embarrassed and ashamed! May those who arrogantly taunt me be covered with shame and humiliation!

27. എന്റെ നീതിയില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നവര് ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കട്ടെ. തന്റെ ദാസന്റെ ശ്രേയസ്സില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ മഹത്വമുള്ളവന് എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് എപ്പോഴും പറയട്ടെ.

27. May those who desire my vindication shout for joy and rejoice! May they continually say, 'May the LORD be praised, for he wants his servant to be secure.'

28. എന്റെ നാവു നിന്റെ നീതിയെയും നാളെല്ലാം നിന്റെ സ്തുതിയെയും വര്ണ്ണിക്കും.

28. Then I will tell others about your justice, and praise you all day long.
