1. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു വാദിക്കുന്നവരോടു വാദിക്കേണമേ; എന്നോടു പൊരുതുന്നവരോടു പെരുതേണമേ.

1. Of David. O Lord, be on my side against those who are judging me; be at war with those who make war against me.

2. നീ പലകയും പരിചയും പിടിച്ചു എനിക്കു സഹായത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ.

2. Be a breastplate to me, and give me your help.

3. നീ കുന്തം ഊരി എന്നെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരുടെ വഴി അടെച്ചുകളയേണമേ; ഞാന് നിന്റെ രക്ഷയാകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനോടു പറയേണമേ.

3. Take up your spear and keep back my attackers; say to my soul, I am your salvation.

4. എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും വരട്ടെ; എനിക്കു അനര്ത്ഥം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവര് പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു നാണിച്ചു പോകട്ടെ.

4. Let them be overcome and put to shame who make attempts to take my soul; let those who would do me damage be turned back and made foolish.

5. അവര് കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പിലെ പതിര്പോലെ ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് അവരെ ഔടിക്കട്ടെ.

5. Let them be like dust from the grain before the wind; let the angel of the Lord send them in flight.

6. അവരുടെ വഴി ഇരുട്ടും വഴുവഴുപ്പും ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് അവരെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.

6. Let their way be dark and full of danger; let them be troubled by the angel of the Lord.

7. കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവര് എനിക്കായി വല ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു; കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവര് എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നായി കുഴി കുഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. For without cause they have put a net ready for me secretly, in which to take my soul.

8. അവന് വിചാരിയാതെ അവന്നു അപായം ഭവിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ച വലയില് അവന് തന്നേ കുടുങ്ങട്ടെ; അവന് അപായത്തില് അകപ്പെട്ടുപോകട്ടെ.

8. Let destruction come on them without their knowledge; let them be taken themselves in their secret nets, falling into the same destruction.

9. എന്റെ ഉള്ളം യഹോവയില് ആനന്ദിക്കും; അവന്റെ രക്ഷയില് സന്തോഷിക്കും;

9. And my soul will have joy in the Lord; it will be glad in his salvation.

10. യഹോവേ, നിനക്കു തുല്യന് ആര്? എളിയവനെ തന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനുമായവനെ കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും നീ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ഒക്കെയും പറയും.

10. All my bones will say, Lord, who is like you? The saviour of the poor man from the hands of the strong, of him who is poor and in need from him who takes his goods.

11. കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷികള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞാന് അറിയാത്ത കാര്യം എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു.

11. False witnesses got up: they put questions to me about crimes of which I had no knowledge.

12. അവര് എനിക്കു നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മചെയ്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു അനാഥത്വം വരുത്തുന്നു.

12. They gave me back evil for good, troubling my soul.

13. ഞാനോ, അവര് ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നപ്പോള് രട്ടുടുത്തു; ഉപവാസംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ആത്മതപനം ചെയ്തു; എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന എന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

13. But as for me, when they were ill I put on the clothing of sorrow: I went without food and was sad, and my prayer came back again to my heart.

14. അവന് എനിക്കു സ്നേഹിതനോ സഹോദരനോ എന്നപോലെ ഞാന് പെരുമാറി; അമ്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് ദുഃഖിച്ചു കുനിഞ്ഞുനടന്നു.

14. My behaviour was as if it had been my friend or my brother: I was bent low in grief like one whose mother is dead.

15. അവരോ എന്റെ വീഴ്ചയിങ്കല് സന്തോഷിച്ചു കൂട്ടംകൂടി; ഞാന് അറിയാത്ത അധമന്മാര് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂടിവന്നു. അവര് ഇടവിടാതെ എന്നെ പഴിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

15. But they took pleasure in my trouble, and came together, yes, low persons came together against me without my knowledge; they never came to an end of wounding me.

16. അടിയന്തരങ്ങളില് കോമാളികളായ വഷളന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു.

16. Like men of deceit they put me to shame; the voice of their wrath was loud against me.

17. കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എത്രത്തോളം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും? അവരുടെ നാശത്തില്നിന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജിവനെയും വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.

17. Lord, how long will you be looking on? take my soul from their destruction, my life from the lions.

18. ഞാന് മഹാസഭയില് നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും; ബഹുജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും.

18. I will give you praise in the great meeting; I will give you honour among a strong people.

19. വെറുതെ എനിക്കു ശത്രുക്കളായവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ; കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവര് കണ്ണിമെക്കയുമരുതേ.

19. Do not let my haters be glad over me falsely; let not those who are against me without cause make sport of me.

20. അവര് സമാധാനവാക്കു സംസാരിക്കാതെ ദേശത്തിലെ സാധുക്കളുടെ നേരെ വ്യാജകാര്യങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.

20. For they do not say words of peace; in their deceit they are designing evil things against the quiet ones in the land.

21. അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ന്നുനന്നായി, ഞങ്ങള് സ്വന്തകണ്ണാല് കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Their mouths were open wide against me, and they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.

22. യഹോവേ, നീ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ; മൌനമായിരിക്കരുതേ; കര്ത്താവേ, എന്നോടകന്നിരിക്കരുതേ,

22. You have seen this, O Lord; be not unmoved: O Lord, be not far from me.

23. എന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്റെ കര്ത്താവുമായുള്ളോവേ, ഉണര്ന്നു എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിന്നും വ്യവഹാരത്തിന്നും ജാഗരിക്കേണമേ.

23. Be awake, O Lord, be moved to take up my cause, my God and my Lord.

24. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നീതിപ്രകാരം എനിക്കു ന്യായം പാലിച്ചു തരേണമേ; അവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ.

24. Be my judge, O Lord my God, in your righteousness; do not let them be glad over me.

25. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്നന്നായി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആഗ്രഹം സാധിച്ചു എന്നു പറയരുതേ; ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നും പറയരുതേ.

25. Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.

26. എന്റെ അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് സന്തോഷിയക്കുന്നവര് ഒരുപോലെ ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ, എന്റെ നേരെ വമ്പുപറയുന്നവര് ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും ധരിക്കട്ടെ.

26. Let all those who take pleasure in my troubles be shamed and come to nothing: let those who are lifted up against me be covered with shame and have no honour.

27. എന്റെ നീതിയില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നവര് ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കട്ടെ. തന്റെ ദാസന്റെ ശ്രേയസ്സില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ മഹത്വമുള്ളവന് എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് എപ്പോഴും പറയട്ടെ.

27. Let those who are on my side give cries of joy; let them ever say, The Lord be praised, for he has pleasure in the peace of his servant.

28. എന്റെ നാവു നിന്റെ നീതിയെയും നാളെല്ലാം നിന്റെ സ്തുതിയെയും വര്ണ്ണിക്കും.

28. And my tongue will be talking of your righteousness and of your praise all the day.
