1. വികടാധരം ഉള്ള മൂഢനെക്കാള് പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

2. പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്ത മനസ്സു നന്നല്ല; തത്രപ്പെട്ടു കാല് വെക്കുന്നവനോ പിഴെച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

14. You may inherit all you own from your parents, but a sensible wife is a gift from the LORD.

15. മടി ഗാഢനിദ്രയില് വീഴിക്കുന്നു; അലസചിത്തന് പട്ടണികിടക്കും.

15. If you are lazy and sleep your time away, you will starve.

16. കല്പന പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് പ്രാണനെ കാക്കുന്നു; നടപ്പു സൂക്ഷിക്കാത്തവനോ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കും.

16. Obey the Lord's teachings and you will live-- disobey and you will die.

17. എളിയവനോടു കൃപ കാട്ടുന്നവന് യഹോവേക്കു വായ്പ കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അവന് ചെയ്ത നന്മെക്കു അവന് പകരം കൊടുക്കും.

21. We may make a lot of plans, but the LORD will do what he has decided.

22. മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ മനസ്സുപോലെ ദയ കാണിക്കും; ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാള് ദരിദ്രന് ഉത്തമന് .

22. What matters most is loyalty. It's better to be poor than to be a liar.

25. Stupid fools learn good sense by seeing others punished; a sensible person learns by being corrected.
