1. അയ്യോ, ജാതികള് തിരുമുന് പില് വിറെക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ നിന്റെ വൈരികള്ക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാന് തീയില് ചുള്ളി കത്തുന്നതു പോലെയും

1. O that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

2. തീ കൊണ്ടു വെള്ളം തിളക്കുന്നതു പോലെയും മലകള് നിന്റെ മുന് പില് ഉരുകിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ ആകാശം കീറി ഇറങ്ങിവന്നെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!

2. As [when] the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thy adversaries, [that] the nations may tremble at thy presence!

3. ഞങ്ങള് വിചാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഭയങ്കരകാര്യങ്ങളെ നീ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചപ്പോള് നീ ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും മലകള് തിരുമുന് പില് ഉരുകിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ

3. When thou didst terrible things [which] we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

4. നീയല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവം തന്നേ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു വേണ്ടി പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു പണ്ടുമുതല് ആരും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല

4. For since the beginning of the world [men] have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, besides thee, [what] he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

5. സന്തോഷിച്ചു നീതി പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ നീ എതിരേലക്കുന്നു; അവര് നിന്റെ വഴികളില് നിന്നെ ഔര്ക്കുന്നു; നീ കോപിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങള് പാപത്തില് അകപ്പെട്ടു; ഇതില് ഞങ്ങള് ബഹുകാലം കഴിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു രക്ഷ ഉണ്ടാകുമോ?

5. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, [those that] remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art angry; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

6. ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അശുദ്ധനെപ്പോലെ ആയ്തീര്ന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നീതിപ്രവര്ത്തികള് ഒക്കെയും കറപിരണ്ട തുണിപോലെ; ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും ഇലപോലെ വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളെ കാറ്റുപോലെ പറപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നു

6. But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

7. നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനും നിന്നെ മുറുകെ പിടിപ്പാന് ഉത്സാഹിക്കുന്നവനും ആരുമില്ല; നിന്റെ മുഖം ഞങ്ങള് കാണാതവണ്ണം നീ മറെച്ചുവെച്ചു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്ക്കു ഞങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു

7. And [there is] none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

8. എങ്കിലോ യഹോവേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു; ഞങ്ങള് കളിമണ്ണും നീ ഞങ്ങളെ മനയുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും നിന്റെ കൈപ്പണിയത്രേ;

8. But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand.

9. യഹോവേ, ഉഗ്രമായി കോപിക്കരുതേ; അകൃത്യം എന്നേക്കും ഔര്ക്കരുതേ; അയ്യോ, കടാക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും നിന്റെ ജനമല്ലോ

9. Be not very angry, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we [are] all thy people.

10. നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനഗരങ്ങള് ഒരു മരുഭൂമിയായിരിക്കുന്നു; സീയോന് മരുഭൂമിയും യെരൂശലേം നിര്ജ്ജന പ്രദേശവും ആയിത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു

10. Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

11. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് നിന്നെ സ്തുതിച്ചുപോന്നിരുന്നതായി വിശുദ്ധിയും ഭംഗിയും ഉള്ള ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആലയം തീക്കു ഇരയായ്തീര്ന്നു; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു മനോഹരമായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും ശൂന് യമായി കിടക്കുന്നു

11. Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

12. യഹോവേ, നീ ഇതു കണ്ടു അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുമോ? നീ മിണ്ടാതെയിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അതികഠിനമായി ക്ലേശിപ്പിക്കുമോ?

12. Wilt thou restrain thyself for these [things], O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and grievously afflict us?
