1. ഞാന് അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു കഷ്ടം കണ്ട പുരുഷനാകുന്നു.

1. [Aleph] I [am] a man [that] sees affliction in the rod of his wrath.

2. അവന് എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലല്ല, ഇരുട്ടിലത്രേ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

2. [Aleph] He has led me and brought [me into] darkness, but not [into] light.

3. അതേ, അവന് ഇടവിടാതെ പിന്നെയും പിന്നെയും തന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ നേരെ തിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. [Aleph] Surely he is turned against me; he turns his hand [against me] all the day.

4. എന്റെ മാംസത്തെയും ത്വക്കിനെയും അവന് ജീര്ണ്ണമാക്കി, എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ തകര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. [Beth] My flesh and my skin he has made old; he has broken my bones.

5. അവന് എന്റെ നേരെ പിണിതു, നഞ്ചും പ്രയാസവും എന്നെ ചുറ്റുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. [Beth] He has built against me and compassed [me] with gall and travail.

6. [Beth] He has set me in dark places as [those that are] dead for ever.

7. [Gimel] He has hedged me about that I cannot get out; he has made my chain heavy.

8. ഞാന് ക്കുകി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന തടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

8. [Gimel] Even when I cried and shouted, he shut out my prayer.

9. വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ടു അവന് എന്റെ വഴി അടെച്ചു, എന്റെ പാതകളെ വികടമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. [Gimel] He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone; he has made my paths crooked.

10. അവന് എനിക്കു പതിയിരിക്കുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെയും മറഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.

10. [Daleth] He [was] unto me [as] a bear lying in wait [and as] a lion in secret places.

11. അവന് എന്റെ വഴികളെ തെറ്റിച്ചു എന്നെ കടിച്ചുകീറി ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. [Daleth] He has made my ways crooked and pulled me in pieces; he has made me desolate.

12. അവന് വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു എന്നെ അമ്പിന്നു ലാക്കാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. [Daleth] He has bent his bow and set me as a mark for the arrow.

13. അവന് തന്റെ പൂണിയിലെ അമ്പുകളെ എന്റെ അന്തരംഗങ്ങളില് തറെപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. [He] He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.

14. ഞാന് എന്റെ സര്വ്വജനത്തിന്നും പരിഹാസവും ഇടവിടാതെ അവരുടെ പാട്ടും ആയിത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. [He] I was a derision to all my people [and] their song every day.

15. അവന് എന്നെ കൈപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു, കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു മത്തുപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു;

15. [He] He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunk with wormwood.

16. അവന് കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പല്ലു തകര്ത്തു, എന്നെ വെണ്ണീരില് ഇട്ടുരുട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. [Vau] He has broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes.

17. നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ സമാധാനത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കി; ഞാന് സുഖം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. [Vau] My soul removed itself far from peace; I forgot about good.

18. എന്റെ മഹത്വവും യഹോവയിങ്കലുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയും പൊയ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

18. [Vau] And I said, My strength and my hope of the LORD is perished.

19. നീ എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും അരിഷ്ടതയും കാഞ്ഞിരവും കൈപ്പും ഔര്ക്കേണമേ.

19. [Zain] Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20. എന്റെ പ്രാണന് എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് എപ്പോഴും അവയെ ഔര്ത്തു ഉരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. [Zain] My soul shall have [them] still in remembrance because it is humbled in me.

21. ഇതു ഞാന് ഔര്ക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് പ്രത്യാശിക്കും.

21. [Zain] This shall go down into my heart; therefore I shall wait.

22. നാം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവയുടെ ദയ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കരുണ തീര്ന്നു പോയിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ;

22. [Chet] It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed because his mercies never diminish.

23. അതു രാവിലെതോറും പുതിയതും നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്ഥത വലിയതും ആകുന്നു.

23. [Chet They are] new every morning; great [is] thy faith.

24. യഹോവ എന്റെ ഔഹരി എന്നു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പറയുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനില് പ്രത്യാശവെക്കുന്നു.

24. [Chet] The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore I will wait for him.

25. തന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന്നും യഹോവ നല്ലവന് .

25. [Teth] The LORD [is] good unto those that wait in him, to the soul [that] seeks him.

26. യഹോവയുടെ രക്ഷെക്കായി മിണ്ടാതെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

26. [Teth] [It is] good to wait quietly in the salvation of the LORD.

27. ബാല്യത്തില് നുകം ചുമക്കുന്നതു ഒരു പുരുഷന്നു നല്ലതു.

27. [Teth] [It is] good for the man if he bears the yoke from his youth.

28. അവന് അതു അവന്റെ മേല് വെച്ചിരിക്ക കൊണ്ടു അവന് തനിച്ചു മൌനം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

28. [Jod] He shall sit alone and keep silence because he has borne [it] upon him.

29. അവന് തന്റെ മുഖത്തെ പൊടിയോളം താഴ്ത്തട്ടെ; പക്ഷെ പ്രത്യാശ ശേഷിക്കും.

29. [Jod] He shall put his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30. തന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു അവന് കവിള് കാണിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് വേണ്ടുവോളം നിന്ദ അനുഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

30. [Jod] He shall turn [his] cheek unto him that smites him; he shall be filled with reproach.

31. കര്ത്താവു എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ലല്ലോ.

31. [Caph] For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

32. അവന് ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചാലും തന്റെ മഹാദയെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവന്നു കരുണതോന്നും.

32. [Caph] But though he causes grief, yet he will also have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

33. മനസ്സോടെയല്ലല്ലോ അവന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു.

33. [Caph] For he does not afflict nor grieve the sons of men from his heart.

34. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലബദ്ധന്മാരെയും കാല്കീഴിട്ടു മെതിക്കുന്നതും.

34. [Lamed] To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

35. അത്യുന്നതന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും.

35. [Lamed] To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

36. മനുഷ്യനെ വ്യവഹാരത്തില് തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും കര്ത്താവു കാണുകയില്ലയോ?

36. [Lamed] To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.

37. കര്ത്താവു കല്പിക്കാതെ ആര് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടാകുന്നു വല്ലതും സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു?

37. [Mem] Who shall he be that saith that something comes which the Lord has not sent?

38. അത്യുന്നതന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു നന്മയും തിന്മയും പുറപ്പെടുന്നില്ലയോ?

38. [Mem] Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?

39. മനുഷ്യന് ജീവനുള്ളന്നു നെടുവീര്പ്പിടുന്നതെന്തു? ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നെടുവീര്പ്പിടട്ടെ.

39. [Mem] Why does the living man have pain, the man in his sins?

40. നാം നമ്മുടെ നടുപ്പു ആരാഞ്ഞു ശോധനചെയ്തു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിയുക.

40. [Nun] Let us search out our ways, and seek, and turn again to the LORD.

41. നാം കൈകളെയും ഹൃദയത്തെയും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു ഉയര്ത്തുക.

41. [Nun] Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands unto God in the heavens.

42. ഞങ്ങള് അതിക്രമം ചെയ്തു മത്സരിച്ചു; നീ ക്ഷമിച്ചതുമില്ല.

42. [Nun] We have rebelled and been disloyal; therefore thou hast not forgiven.

43. നീ കോപം പുതെച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു, കരുണകൂടാതെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

43. [Samech] Thou hast unfurled anger and persecuted us; thou hast slain, thou hast not forgiven.

44. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കടക്കാതവണ്ണം നീ മേഘംകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ മറെച്ചു.

44. [Samech] Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud that [our] prayer should not pass through.

45. നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ചവറും എച്ചിലും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. [Samech] Thou hast made us [as] the offscouring and abomination in the midst of the peoples.

46. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

46. [Pe] All our enemies have opened their mouths upon us.

47. പേടിയും കണിയും ശൂന്യവും നാശവും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

47. [Pe] Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

48. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് പുത്രിയുടെ നാശംനിമിത്തം നീര്ത്തോടുകള് എന്റെ കണ്ണില്നിന്നൊഴുകുന്നു.

48. [Pe] My eyes stream with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49. യഹോവ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു നോക്കി കടാക്ഷിക്കുവോളം

49. [Ain] My eyes run down, and cease not, for there is no relief,

50. എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഇടവിടാതെ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു; ഇളെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

50. [Ain] Until the LORD looks down, and beholds from the heavens.

51. എന്റെ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലസ്ത്രീജനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു എന്റെ കണ്ണു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

51. [Ain] My eyes make my soul sad because of all the daughters of my city.

52. കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളായവര് എന്നെ ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ വേട്ടയാടിയിരിക്കുന്നു;
യോഹന്നാൻ 15:25

52. [Tzaddi] My enemies hunted me like a bird, without cause.

53. അവര് എന്റെ ജീവനെ കുണ്ടറയില് ഇട്ടു നശിപ്പിച്ചു, എന്റെ മേല് കല്ലു എറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

53. [Tzaddi] They bound up my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

54. വെള്ളം എന്റെ തലെക്കുമീതെ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി; ഞാന് നശിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

54. [Tzaddi] Waters flowed over my head; [then] I said, I am dead.

55. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് ആഴമുള്ള കുണ്ടറയില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

55. [Koph] I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

56. എന്റെ നെടുവീര്പ്പിന്നും എന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കും ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയരുതേ എന്നുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

56. [Koph] Thou hast heard my voice; do not hide thine ear at my cry that I might breath.

57. ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ച നാളില് നീ അടുത്തുവന്നുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

57. [Koph] Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou didst say, Fear not.

58. കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, എന്റെ ജീവനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

58. [Resh] O Lord, thou hast pleaded the cause of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

59. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് അനുഭവിച്ച അന്യായം നീ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം തീര്ത്തുതരേണമേ.

59. [Resh] O LORD, thou hast seen where I was wrong; plead thou my cause.

60. അവര് ചെയ്ത സകലപ്രതികാരവും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളും നീ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

60. [Resh] Thou hast seen all their vengeance [and] all their imaginations against me.

61. യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ നിന്ദയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളും

61. [Schin] Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, [and] all their imaginations against me;

62. എന്റെ എതിരികളുടെ വാക്കുകളും ഇടവിടാതെ എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള നിനവും നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

62. [Schin] The words of those that rose up against me, and their design against me all the day.

63. അവരുടെ ഇരിപ്പും എഴുന്നേല്പും നോക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് അവരുടെ പാട്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു.

63. [Schin] Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I [am] their music.

64. യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യേണമേ;

64. [Tau] Render unto them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

65. നീ അവര്ക്കും ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം വരുത്തും; നിന്റെ ശാപം അവര്ക്കും വരട്ടെ.

65. [Tau] Give them sorrow of heart; thy curse unto them.

66. നീ അവരെ കോപത്തോടെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

66. [Tau] Persecute them in thy anger and cut them off from under the heavens, oh LORD.:
