1. യിസ്രായേല്മൂപ്പന്മാരില് ചിലര് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു എന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഇരുന്നു.

1. Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

2. അപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

2. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

3. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഈ പുരുഷന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സ്മരിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യഹേതു തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് ചോദിച്ചാല് ഞാന് ഉത്തരമരുളുമോ?

3. Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

4. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തില് തന്റെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സ്മരിച്ചും തന്റെ അകൃത്യഹേതു തന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്ന ഏവനോടും

4. Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;

5. യഹോവയായ ഞാന് തന്നേ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തെ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ബാഹുല്യത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ഉത്തരം അരുളും; അവര് എല്ലാവരും തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം എന്നെ വിട്ടകന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

5. That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

6. ആകയാല് നീ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് അനുതപിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുതിരിവിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ സകല മ്ളേച്ഛബിംബങ്ങളിലുംനിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം തിരിപ്പിന് .

6. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

7. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തിലും യിസ്രായേലില് വന്നുപാര്ക്കുംന്ന പരദേശികളിലും എന്നെ വിട്ടകന്നു തന്റെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സ്മരിച്ചും തന്റെ അകൃത്യഹേതു മുമ്പില് വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കല് അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് വരുന്ന ഏവനോടും യഹോവയായ ഞാന് തന്നേ ഉത്തരം അരുളും.

7. For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

8. ഞാന് ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെനേരെ മുഖംതിരിച്ചു അവനെ ഒരടയാളവും പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും ആക്കും; ഞാന് അവനെ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാന് യഹോവ എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയും.

8. And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

9. എന്നാല് പ്രവാചകന് വശീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു ഒരു വാക്കു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചാല് യഹോവയായ ഞാന് ആ പ്രവാചകനെ വശീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അവന്റെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ യിസ്രായേല്ജനത്തില്നിന്നു സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും.

9. And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

10. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹം ഇനിമേല് എന്നെ വിട്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകയും സകലവിധ ലംഘനങ്ങളുംകൊണ്ടു അശുദ്ധരായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതെ അവര് എനിക്കു ജനവും ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

10. And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;

11. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കും; ചോദിക്കുന്നവന്റെ അകൃത്യവും പ്രവാചകന്റെ അകൃത്യവും ഒരുപോലെ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

12. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

12. The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,

13. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ ഒരു ദേശം എന്നോടു ദ്രോഹിച്ചു പാപം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അതിന്റെനേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി, അപ്പം എന്ന കോല് ഒടിച്ചു, ക്ഷാമം വരുത്തി, മനുഷ്യനെയും മൃഗത്തെയും അതില് നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

13. Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

14. നോഹ, ദാനീയേല്, ഇയ്യോബ് എന്നീ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് അതില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയാല് സ്വന്തജീവനെ മാത്രമേ രക്ഷിക്കയുള്ളു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14. Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

15. ഞാന് ദുഷ്ടമൃഗങ്ങളെ ദേശത്തു വരുത്തുകയും ആ മൃഗങ്ങളെ പേടിച്ചു ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം അവ അതിനെ നിര്ജ്ജനമാക്കീട്ടു അതു ശൂന്യമാകയും ചെയ്താല്,

15. If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

16. ആ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് അതില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും എന്നാണ, അവര് പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവര് മാത്രമേ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയുള്ളു; ദേശമോ ശൂന്യമായിപ്പോകുമെന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

16. Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

17. അല്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് ആ ദേശത്തില് വാള് വരുത്തി വാളേ, നീ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടക്കുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും

17. Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

18. അതില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് ആ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് അതില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും, എന്നാണ, അവര് പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാതെ, അവര് മാത്രമേ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയുള്ളു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

19. അല്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് ആ ദേശത്തു മഹാമാരി അയച്ചു, അതില്നിന്നു മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ ക്രോധം രക്തരൂപേണ അതിന്മേല് പകര്ന്നാല്

19. Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

20. നോഹയും ദാനീയേലും ഇയ്യോബും അതില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും, എന്നാണ, അ:വര് പുത്രനെയോ പുത്രിയെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയാല് സ്വന്ത ജീവനെ മാത്രമേ രക്ഷിക്കയുള്ളു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

20. Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

21. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു വാള്, ക്ഷാമം ദുഷ്ടമൃഗം, മഹാമാരി എന്നിങ്ങനെ അനര്ത്ഥകരമായ ന്യായവിധികള് നാലും കൂടെ അയച്ചാലോ?

21. For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

22. എന്നാല് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോരുവാനുള്ള പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ആയ ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം അതില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കും; അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വരും; നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും കണ്ടു, ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിന്നു വരുത്തിയ അനര്ത്ഥവും അതിന്നു വരുത്തിയ സകലവും ചൊല്ലി ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിക്കും.

22. Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

23. നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും കാണുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കും; ഞാന് അതില് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും വെറുതെയല്ല ചെയ്തതു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

23. And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
