1. The Lord spoke to Moses. He said,

2. നീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു;

2. 'Speak to the people of Israel. Tell them, 'I am the Lord your God.

3. നിങ്ങള് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ നടപ്പുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് നടക്കരുതു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന കനാന് ദേശത്തിലെ നടപ്പുപോലെയും അരുതു; അവരുടെ മര്യാദ ആചരിക്കരുതു.

3. You must not do what the people of Egypt do. You used to live there. And you must not do what the people of Canaan do. I am bringing you into their land. Do not follow their practices.

5. Keep my rules and laws. The one who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.

12. ' 'Do not have sex with your father's sister. She is a close relative on your father's side.

13. ' 'Do not have sex with your mother's sister. She is a close relative on your mother's side.

14. അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു അടുക്കയുമരുതു; അവള് നിന്റെ ഇളയമ്മയല്ലോ.

14. ' 'Do not bring shame on your father's brother by having sex with his wife. She is your aunt.

20. ' 'Do not have sex with your neighbor's wife. That would make you 'unclean.'

21. നിന്റെ സന്തതിയില് ഒന്നിനെയും മോലേക്കിന്നു അര്പ്പിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; ഞാന് യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

21. ' 'Do not hand over any of your children to be sacrificed to the god Molech. That would be treating my name as if it were not holy. I am the Lord your God.

22. ' 'Do not have sex with a man as you would have sex with a woman. I hate that.

23. യാതൊരു മൃഗത്തോടുംകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു അതിനാല് നിന്നെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുതു; യാതൊരു സ്ത്രീയും ഒരു മൃഗത്തോടും കൂടെ ശയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നില്ക്കയും അരുതു; അതു നികൃഷ്ടം.

23. ' 'Do not have sex with an animal. Do not make yourself 'unclean' by doing that. A woman must not offer herself to an animal to have sex with it. That is a twisted use of sex.

24. ഇവയില് ഒന്നുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുതു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്ന ജാതികള് ഇവയാല് ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ അശുദ്ധരാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. ' 'Do not make yourselves 'unclean' in any of those ways. That is how other nations became 'unclean.' So I am going to drive those nations out of the land to make room for you.

25. ദേശവും അശുദ്ധമായിത്തീര്ന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അതിന്മേല് സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്നു; ദേശം തന്റെ നിവാസികളെ ഛര്ദ്ദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

25. Even their land was not 'clean.' So I punished it because of its sin. The land itself threw out the people who lived there.

26. ഈ മ്ളേച്ഛത ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പെ ആ ദേശത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യര് ചെയ്തു, ദേശം അശുദ്ധമായി തീര്ന്നു

26. ' 'But you must keep my rules and my laws. You must not do any of the things I hate. It does not matter whether you are Israelites or outsiders.

27. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജാതികളെ ദേശം ഛര്ദ്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കീട്ടു നിങ്ങളെയും ഛര്ദ്ദിച്ചുകളയാതിരിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കേണം;

27. ' 'All of those things were done by the people who lived in the land before you. That is how the land became 'unclean.'

28. ഈ മ്ളേച്ഛതകളില് യാതൊന്നും സ്വദേശിയാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന പരദേശിയാകട്ടെ ചെയ്യരുതു.

28. If you make the land 'unclean,' it will throw you out. It will get rid of you just as it got rid of the nations that were there before you.

29. ആരെങ്കിലും ഈ സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതകളിലും ഏതെങ്കിലും ചെയ്താല് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അവരുടെ ജനത്തില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.

29. ' 'Suppose you do any of the things I hate. Then you must be cut off from your people.

30. ' 'Do exactly what I require. When you arrive in Canaan, do not follow any of the practices of its people. I hate the things they do. Do not make yourselves 'unclean' by doing them. I am the Lord your God.' '
