1. തെക്കോവയിലെ ഇടയന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനായ ആമോസ് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ യോവാശിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ കാലത്തും ഭൂകമ്പത്തിന്നു രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം മുമ്പെ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദര്ശിച്ച വചനങ്ങള്.

1. These are the words of Amos. He was a shepherd from the town of Tekoa. Here is the vision he saw concerning Israel. It came to him two years before the earthquake. At that time Uzziah was king of Judah. Jeroboam was king of Israel. He was the son of Jehoash. Here are the words of Amos.

2. അവന് പറഞ്ഞതോ യഹോവ സീയോനില്നിന്നു ഗര്ജ്ജിച്ചു, യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു തന്റെ നാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കും. അപ്പോള് ഇടയന്മാരുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങള് ദുഃഖിക്കും; കര്മ്മേലിന്റെ കൊടുമുടി വാടിപ്പോകും.

2. I said, 'The Lord roars like a lion from Jerusalem. His voice sounds like thunder from Zion. The grasslands of the shepherds turn brown. The top of Mount Carmel dries up.'

3. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് ഗിലെയാദിനെ ഇരിമ്പുമെതിവണ്ടികൊണ്ടു മെതിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് തന്നേ, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

3. The Lord says, 'The people of Damascus have sinned again and again. So I will punish them. They used threshing sleds with iron teeth to crush Gilead's people.

4. ഞാന് ഹസായേല്ഗൃഹത്തില് ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു ബെന് ഹദദിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

4. So I will send fire to destroy the palace of King Hazael. It will burn up the forts of his son Ben-Hadad.

5. I will break down the city gate of Damascus. I will cut off the king who lives in the Valley of Aven. He holds the ruler's rod in Beth Eden. The people of Aram will be taken away to Kir as prisoners,' says the Lord.

6. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഗസ്സയുടെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് എദോമിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ബദ്ധന്മാരെ ആസകലം കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

6. The Lord says, 'The people of Gaza have sinned again and again. So I will punish them. They captured whole communities. They sold them to Edom.

7. ഞാന് ഗസ്സയുടെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു അതിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

7. So I will send fire to destroy the walls of Gaza. It will burn up its forts.

8. ഞാന് അസ്തോദില്നിന്നു നിവാസിയെയും അസ്കെലോനില്നിന്നു ചെങ്കോല് പിടിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ കൈ എക്രോന്റെ നേരെ തിരിക്കും; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവര് നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8. I will cut off the king of Ashdod. He holds the ruler's rod in Ashkelon. I will use my powerful hand against Ekron. Every single Philistine will die,' says the Lord and King.

9. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുസോരിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് സഹോദരസഖ്യത ഔര്ക്കാതെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ ആസകലം എദോമിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

9. The Lord says, 'The people of Tyre have sinned again and again. So I will punish them. They captured whole communities. They sold them to Edom. They did not honor the treaty of friendship they had made.

10. ഞാന് സോരിന്റെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു അതിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

10. So I will send fire to destroy the walls of Tyre. It will burn up its forts.'

11. The Lord says, 'The people of Edom have sinned again and again. So I will punish them. They chased Israel with swords that were ready to strike them down. They did not show them any pity. They were angry all the time. Their anger blazed out. It could not be stopped.

12. ഞാന് തേമാനില് ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു ബൊസ്രയിലെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

12. So I will send fire to destroy the city of Teman. It will burn up Bozrah's forts.'

13. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅമ്മോന്യരുടെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമം നിമിത്തം, അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിസ്താരമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലെ ഗര്ഭിണികളെ പിളര്ന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

13. The Lord says, 'The people of Ammon have sinned again and again. So I will punish them. They ripped open the pregnant women in Gilead. They wanted to add land to their territory.

14. ഞാന് രബ്ബയുടെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ കത്തിക്കും; അതു യുദ്ധദിവസത്തിലെ ആര്പ്പോടും പിശറുള്ള നാളിലെ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റോടുംകൂടെ അതിലെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

14. So I will set fire to destroy the walls of Rabbah. It will burn up its forts. War cries will be heard on that day of battle. Strong winds will blow on that stormy day.

15. അവരുടെ രാജാവു പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും; അവനും അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ തന്നേ എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

15. Ammon's god Molech will be carried away. So will its officials,' says the Lord.
