1. തെക്കോവയിലെ ഇടയന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനായ ആമോസ് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ യോവാശിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ കാലത്തും ഭൂകമ്പത്തിന്നു രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം മുമ്പെ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദര്ശിച്ച വചനങ്ങള്.

1. The words of Amos, which came [to him] in Accarim out of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2. അവന് പറഞ്ഞതോ യഹോവ സീയോനില്നിന്നു ഗര്ജ്ജിച്ചു, യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു തന്റെ നാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കും. അപ്പോള് ഇടയന്മാരുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങള് ദുഃഖിക്കും; കര്മ്മേലിന്റെ കൊടുമുടി വാടിപ്പോകും.

2. And he said, The Lord has spoken out of Zion, and has uttered His voice out of Jerusalem, and the pastures of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is dried up.

3. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് ഗിലെയാദിനെ ഇരിമ്പുമെതിവണ്ടികൊണ്ടു മെതിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് തന്നേ, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

3. And the Lord said, For three sins of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away from it, because they sawed with iron saws the women with child of the Gileadites.

4. ഞാന് ഹസായേല്ഗൃഹത്തില് ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു ബെന് ഹദദിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

4. And I will send a fire on the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the foundations of the son of Ader.

5. ഞാന് ദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ ഔടാമ്പല് തകര്ത്തു, ആവെന് താഴ്വരയില്നിന്നു നിവാസിയെയും ഏദെന് ഗൃഹത്തില്നിന്നു ചെങ്കോല് പിടിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; അരാമ്യര് ബദ്ധന്മാരായി കീറിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

5. And I will break to pieces the bars of Damascus, and will destroy the inhabitants out of the plain of On, and will cut in pieces a tribe out of the men of Harrhan; and the famous people of Syria shall be led captive, says the Lord.

6. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഗസ്സയുടെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് എദോമിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ബദ്ധന്മാരെ ആസകലം കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

6. Thus says the Lord; For three sins of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away from them, because they took prisoners the captivity of Solomon, to shut [them] up into Edom.

7. ഞാന് ഗസ്സയുടെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു അതിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

7. And I will send forth a fire on the walls of Gaza, and it shall devour its foundations.

8. ഞാന് അസ്തോദില്നിന്നു നിവാസിയെയും അസ്കെലോനില്നിന്നു ചെങ്കോല് പിടിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ കൈ എക്രോന്റെ നേരെ തിരിക്കും; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവര് നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8. And I will destroy the inhabitants out of Azotus, and a tribe shall be cut off from Ashkelon, and I will stretch out My hand upon Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord.

9. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുസോരിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവര് സഹോദരസഖ്യത ഔര്ക്കാതെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ ആസകലം എദോമിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

9. Thus says the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn away from it, because they shut up the prisoners of Solomon into Edom, and remembered not the covenant of brethren.

10. ഞാന് സോരിന്റെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു അതിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

10. And I will send forth a fire on the walls of Tyre, and it shall devour the foundations of it.

11. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഎദോമിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം, അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ വാളോടുകൂടെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു, തന്റെ കോപം സദാകാലം കടിച്ചുകീറുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം സഹതാപം വിട്ടുകളകയും ദ്വേഷ്യം സദാകാലം വെച്ചുകൊള്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

11. Thus says the Lord; For three sins of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away from them, because they pursued their brother with the sword, and destroyed the mother upon the earth, and summoned up his anger for a testimony, and kept up his fury to the end.

12. ഞാന് തേമാനില് ഒരു തീ അയക്കും; അതു ബൊസ്രയിലെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

12. And I will send forth a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the foundations of her walls.

13. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅമ്മോന്യരുടെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ അതിക്രമം നിമിത്തം, അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിസ്താരമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലെ ഗര്ഭിണികളെ പിളര്ന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ മടക്കിക്കളകയില്ല.

13. Thus says the Lord; For three sins of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away from him, because they ripped up the women with child of the Gileadites, that they might widen their coasts.

14. ഞാന് രബ്ബയുടെ മതിലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തീ കത്തിക്കും; അതു യുദ്ധദിവസത്തിലെ ആര്പ്പോടും പിശറുള്ള നാളിലെ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റോടുംകൂടെ അതിലെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

14. And I will kindle a fire on the walls of Rabbah, and it shall devour her foundations with shouting in the day of war, and she shall be shaken in the days of her destruction:

15. അവരുടെ രാജാവു പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും; അവനും അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ തന്നേ എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

15. and her kings shall go into captivity, their priests and their rulers together, says the Lord.
