1. ഞാന് കൊത്തളത്തില്നിന്നു കാവല്കാത്തുകൊണ്ടുഅവന് എന്നോടു എന്തരുളിച്ചെയ്യും എന്നും എന്റെ ആവലാധിസംബന്ധിച്ചു ഞാന് എന്തുത്തരം പറയേണ്ടു എന്നും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കും.

1. I will stand vpon my watch, and set me vpon the towre, and wil looke and see what he would say vnto mee, and what I shall answere to him that rebuketh me.

2. യഹോവ എന്നോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതുനീ ദര്ശനം എഴുതുക; ഔടിച്ചു വായിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതു പലകയില് തെളിവായി വരെക്കുക.

2. And the Lord answered me, and sayde, Write the vision, and make it plaine vpon tables, that he may runne that readeth it.

3. ദര്ശനത്തിന്നു ഒരു അവധിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു സമാപ്തിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; സമയം തെറ്റുകയുമില്ല; അതു വൈകിയാലും അതിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്ക; അതു വരും നിശ്ചയം; താമസിക്കയുമില്ല.

3. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the last it shall speake, and not lie: though it tarie, waite: for it shall surely come, and shall not stay.

4. അവന്റെ മനസ്സു അവനില് അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നേരുള്ളതല്ല; നീതിമാനോ വിശ്വാസത്താല് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.

4. Beholde, he that lifteth vp himselfe, his minde is not vpright in him, but the iust shall liue by his fayth,

5. വീഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസപാതകനാകുന്നു; അഹമ്മതിയുള്ള പുരുഷന് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല; അവന് പാതാളംപോലെ വിസ്താരമായി വായ് പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; മരണംപോലെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് സകലജാതികളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടി, സകലവംശങ്ങളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചേര്ക്കുംന്നു.

5. Yea, in deede the proude man is as hee that transgresseth by wine: therefore shall he not endure, because he hath enlarged his desire as the hell, and is as death, and can not be satisfied, but gathereth vnto him all nations, and heapeth vnto him all people.

6. അവര് ഒക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു സദൃശവും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പരിഹാസമായുള്ളോരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും ചൊല്ലി; തന്റെതല്ലാത്തതു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കയും--എത്രത്തോളം?--പണയപണ്ടം ചുമന്നു കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

6. Shall not all these take vp a parable against him, and a tanting prouerbe against him, and say, Ho, he that increaseth that which is not his? howe long? and hee that ladeth himselfe with thicke clay?

7. നിന്റെ കടക്കാര് പെട്ടെന്നു എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും നിന്നെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കുന്നവര് ഉണരുകയും നീ അവര്ക്കും കൊള്ളയായ്തീരുകയും ഇല്ലയോ?

7. Shall they not rise vp suddenly, that shall bite thee? and awake, that shall stirre thee? and thou shalt be their praye?

8. നീ പലജാതികളോടും കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ജാതികളില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തംനിമിത്തവും നീ ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസം നിമിത്തവും നിന്നോടും കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യും.

8. Because thou hast spoyled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoyle thee, because of mens blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the citie, and vnto all that dwell therein.

9. അനര്ത്ഥത്തില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഉയരത്തില് കൂടുവെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നുവേണ്ടി ദുരാദായം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

9. Ho, he that coueteth an euil couetousnesse to his house, that he may set his nest on hie, to escape from the power of euil.

10. പലജാതികളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതിനാല് നീ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു ലജ്ജ നിരൂപിച്ചു നിന്റെ സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. Thou hast consulted shame to thine owne house, by destroying many people, and hast sinned against thine owne soule.

11. ചുവരില്നിന്നു കല്ലു നിലവിളിക്കയും മരപ്പണിയില്നിന്നു തുലാം ഉത്തരം പറകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.

11. For the stone shall crie out of the wall, and the beame out of the timber shall answere it.

12. രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണം പണിയുകയും നീതികേടുകൊണ്ടു നഗരം സ്ഥാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

12. Wo vnto him that buildeth a towne with blood, and erecteth a citie by iniquitie.

13. ജാതികള് തീക്കു ഇരയാകുവാന് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങള് വെറുതെ തളര്ന്നുപോകുന്നതും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ഹിതത്താല് അല്ലയോ?

13. Beholde, is it not of the Lord of hostes that the people shall labour in ye very fire? the people shall euen weary themselues for very vanitie.

14. വെള്ളം സമുദ്രത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂമി യഹോവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താല് പൂര്ണ്ണമാകും.

14. For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters couer the sea.

15. കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ നഗ്നത കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കയും നഞ്ചു കൂട്ടിക്കലര്ത്തി ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

15. Wo vnto him that giueth his neighbour drinke: thou ioynest thine heate, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest see their priuities.

16. നിനക്കു മഹത്വംകൊണ്ടല്ല, ലജ്ജകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ പൂര്ത്തിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീയും കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മം അനാവൃതമാക്കുക; യഹോവയുടെ വലങ്കയ്യിലെ പാനപാത്രം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും; മഹത്വത്തിന്നു പകരം നിനക്കു അവമാനം ഭവിക്കും.

16. Thou art filled with shame for glorie: drinke thou also, and be made naked: the cup of the Lords right hand shall be turned vnto thee, and shamefull spuing shalbe for thy glory.

17. മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തവും ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസവും ഹേതുവായി ലെബാനോനോടു ചെയ്ത ദ്രോഹവും മൃഗങ്ങളെ പേടിപ്പിച്ച സംഹാരവും നിന്നെ മൂടും.

17. For the crueltie of Lebanon shall couer thee: so shall the spoyle of the beastes, which made them afraide, because of mens blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the citie, and vnto all that dwell therein.

18. പണിക്കാരന് ഒരു ബിംബത്തെ കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കുവാന് അതിനാലോ, പണിക്കാരന് വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന വാര്പ്പുവിഗ്രഹത്തില് ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഊമ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് അതിനാലോ എന്തു പ്രയോജനം ഉള്ളു?
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 12:2

18. What profiteth the image? for the maker thereof hath made it an image, and a teacher of lies, though he that made it, trust therein, when he maketh dumme idoles.

19. മരത്തോടുഉണരുക എന്നും ഊമക്കല്ലിനോടുഎഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അതു ഉപദേശിക്കുമോ? അതു പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് ശ്വാസം ഒട്ടും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 12:2

19. Wo vnto him that sayth to the wood, Awake, and to the dumme stone, Rise vp, it shall teach thee: beholde, it is layde ouer with golde and siluer, and there is no breath in it.

20. എന്നാല് യഹോവ തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് ഉണ്ടു; സര്വ്വ ഭൂമിയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് മൌനമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. But the Lord is in his holy Temple: let all the earth keepe silence before him.
