1. യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കളുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളില് മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മക്കളുടെ കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാര് അടുത്തുവന്നു മോശെയുടെയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രപ്രധാനികളായ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ പറഞ്ഞതു

1. The heads of the fathers' houses of the family of the children of Gil`ad, the son of Makhir, the son of Menashsheh, of the families of the sons of Yosef, came near, and spoke before Moshe, and before the princes, the heads of the fathers' houses of the children of Yisra'el:

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു ദേശം ചീട്ടിട്ടു അവകാശമായി കൊടുപ്പാന് യഹോവ യജമാനനോടു കല്പിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരനായ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ അവകാശം അവന്റെ പുത്രിമാര്ക്കും കൊടുപ്പാന് യജമാനന്നു യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ഉണ്ടായി.

2. and they said, the LORD commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Yisra'el: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Tzelohchad our brother to his daughters.

3. എന്നാല് അവര് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മറ്റു ഗോത്രങ്ങളിലെ പുരുഷന്മാരില് വല്ലവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായാല് അവരുടെ അവകാശം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അവകാശത്തില്നിന്നു വിട്ടുപോകയും അവര് ചേരുന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു കൂടുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇങ്ങനെ അതു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ ഔഹരിയില്നിന്നു പൊയ്പോകും.

3. If they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Yisra'el, then will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will it be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.

4. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ യോബേല് സംവത്സരം വരുമ്പോള് അവരുടെ അവകാശം അവര് ചേരുന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു കൂടുകയും അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ അവകാശം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തില്നിന്നു വിട്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

4. When the jubilee of the children of Yisra'el shall be, then will their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

5. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുയോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഗോത്രം പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി തന്നേ.

5. Moshe commanded the children of Yisra'el according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Yosef speaks right.

6. യഹോവ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കുന്നകാര്യം എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് തങ്ങള്ക്കു ബോധിച്ചവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായിരിക്കട്ടെ; എങ്കിലും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിലെ കുടുംബത്തിലുള്ളവര്ക്കും മാത്രമേ ആകാവു.

6. This is the thing which the LORD does command concerning the daughters of Tzelohchad, saying, Let them be married to whom they think best; only into the family of the tribe of their father shall they be married.

7. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ അവകാശം ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തില് നിന്നു മറ്റൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലേക്കു മാറരുതു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കേണം;

7. So shall no inheritance of the children of Yisra'el remove from tribe to tribe; for the children of Yisra'el shall cleave everyone to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

8. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അവകാശം കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ യാതൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലും അവകാശം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഏതുകന്യകയും തന്റെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു കുടുംബത്തില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഭാര്യയാകേണം.

8. Every daughter, who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Yisra'el, shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Yisra'el may possess every man the inheritance of his fathers.

9. അങ്ങനെ അവകാശം ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നു മറ്റൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലേക്കു മാറാതെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രങ്ങളില് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കേണം.

9. So shall no inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Yisra'el shall cleave everyone to his own inheritance.

10. യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാര് ചെയ്തു.

10. Even as the LORD commanded Moshe, so did the daughters of Tzelohchad:

11. ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരായ മഹ്ളാ, തിര്സാ, ഹൊഗ്ളാ, മില്ക്കാ, നോവാ എന്നിവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായി.

11. for Machlah, Tirtzah, and Hoglah, and Milkah, and Noach, the daughters of Tzelohchad, were married to their father's brothers' sons.

12. യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളില് അവര് ഭാര്യമാരാകയും അവരുടെ അവകാശം അവരുടെ പിതൃകുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഗോത്രത്തില്തന്നേ ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

12. They were married into the families of the sons of Menashsheh the son of Yosef; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

13. യെരീഹോവിന്നെതിരെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നരികെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെമുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ച കല്പനകളും വിധികളും ഇവ തന്നേ.

13. These are the mitzvot and the ordinances which the LORD commanded by Moshe to the children of Yisra'el in the plains of Mo'av by the Yarden at Yericho.
