1. യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കളുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളില് മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മക്കളുടെ കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാര് അടുത്തുവന്നു മോശെയുടെയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രപ്രധാനികളായ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ പറഞ്ഞതു

1. The heads of the fathers' houses of the family group of the sons of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near. They spoke in front of Moses and the leaders, the heads of the fathers' houses of the people of Israel.

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു ദേശം ചീട്ടിട്ടു അവകാശമായി കൊടുപ്പാന് യഹോവ യജമാനനോടു കല്പിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരനായ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ അവകാശം അവന്റെ പുത്രിമാര്ക്കും കൊടുപ്പാന് യജമാനന്നു യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ഉണ്ടായി.

2. They said, 'The Lord told my lord to give the land to the people of Israel by drawing names. And my lord was told by the Lord to give the land of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.

3. എന്നാല് അവര് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മറ്റു ഗോത്രങ്ങളിലെ പുരുഷന്മാരില് വല്ലവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായാല് അവരുടെ അവകാശം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അവകാശത്തില്നിന്നു വിട്ടുപോകയും അവര് ചേരുന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു കൂടുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇങ്ങനെ അതു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ ഔഹരിയില്നിന്നു പൊയ്പോകും.

3. But if they marry one of the sons of the other family groups of Israel, then their land would be taken away from what was given to our fathers and would be added to the land of the family group they marry into. So it would be taken from the land that had been given to us.

4. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ യോബേല് സംവത്സരം വരുമ്പോള് അവരുടെ അവകാശം അവര് ചേരുന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു കൂടുകയും അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ അവകാശം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തില്നിന്നു വിട്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

4. When the Year of Jubilee of the people of Israel comes, their land will be added to the land of the family group into which they marry. So their land will be taken from the land of the family group of our fathers.'

5. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുയോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഗോത്രം പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി തന്നേ.

5. Then Moses told the people of Israel what the Lord said. He said, 'The family group of the sons of Joseph are right in what they say.

6. യഹോവ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കുന്നകാര്യം എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് തങ്ങള്ക്കു ബോധിച്ചവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായിരിക്കട്ടെ; എങ്കിലും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിലെ കുടുംബത്തിലുള്ളവര്ക്കും മാത്രമേ ആകാവു.

6. This is what the Lord has said about the daughters of Zelophehad: 'Let them marry whom they think best. Only they must marry within the family group of their father.'

7. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ അവകാശം ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തില് നിന്നു മറ്റൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലേക്കു മാറരുതു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കേണം;

7. This way no land of the people of Israel will go from one family group to another. The people of Israel will each hold to the land of the family group of his fathers.

8. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അവകാശം കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ യാതൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലും അവകാശം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഏതുകന്യകയും തന്റെ പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു കുടുംബത്തില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഭാര്യയാകേണം.

8. Every daughter who comes to own the land of any family group of Israel, must be the wife of one of her father's family group. So every one of the people of Israel may own the land of his fathers.

9. അങ്ങനെ അവകാശം ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നു മറ്റൊരു ഗോത്രത്തിലേക്കു മാറാതെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രങ്ങളില് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കേണം.

9. No land will go from one family group to another. For the families of Israel will each hold to his own land.'

10. യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാര് ചെയ്തു.

10. The daughters of Zelophehad did just as the Lord had told Moses.

11. ശെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരായ മഹ്ളാ, തിര്സാ, ഹൊഗ്ളാ, മില്ക്കാ, നോവാ എന്നിവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായി.

11. Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, married sons of their father's brothers.

12. യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളില് അവര് ഭാര്യമാരാകയും അവരുടെ അവകാശം അവരുടെ പിതൃകുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഗോത്രത്തില്തന്നേ ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

12. They married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph. And their land stayed with their father's family group.

13. യെരീഹോവിന്നെതിരെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നരികെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെമുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ച കല്പനകളും വിധികളും ഇവ തന്നേ.

13. These are the Laws which the Lord told the people of Israel through Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
