1. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ശബ്ബത്തില് വിളഭൂമിയില്കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിശന്നിട്ടു കതിര് പറിച്ചു തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി
ആവർത്തനം 23:24-25

1. AT THAT particular time Jesus went through the fields of standing grain on the Sabbath; and His disciples were hungry, and they began to pick off the spikes of grain and to eat. [Deut. 23:25.]

2. പരീശര് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ശബ്ബത്തില് വിഹിതമല്ലാത്തതു നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, See there! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful and not permitted on the Sabbath.

3. അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ദാവീദ് തനിക്കും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും

3. He said to them, Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, and those who accompanied him--[Lev. 24:9; I Sam. 21:1-6.]

4. വിശന്നപ്പോള് ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു. പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും മാത്രമല്ലാതെ തനിക്കും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും തിന്മാന് വിഹിതമല്ലാത്ത കാഴ്ചയപ്പം തിന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

4. How he went into the house of God and ate the loaves of the showbread--which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for the men who accompanied him, but for the priests only?

5. അല്ല, ശബ്ബത്തില് പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും കുറ്റമില്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

5. Or have you never read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath [breaking it] and yet are guiltless? [Num. 28:9, 10.]

6. എന്നാല് ദൈവാലയത്തെക്കാള് വലിയവന് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

6. But I tell you, Something greater and more exalted and more majestic than the temple is here!

7. യാഗത്തിലല്ല, കരുണയില് അത്രേ, ഞാന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവരെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

7. And if you had only known what this saying means, I desire mercy [readiness to help, to spare, to forgive] rather than sacrifice and sacrificial victims, you would not have condemned the guiltless. [Hos. 6:6; Matt. 9:13.]

8. മനുഷ്യപുത്രനോ ശബ്ബത്തിന്നു കര്ത്താവാകുന്നു.”

8. For the Son of Man is Lord [even] of the Sabbath.

9. അവന് അവിടം വിട്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നപ്പോള്, കൈ വരണ്ട ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

9. And going on from there, He went into their synagogue.

10. അവര് അവനില് കുറ്റം ചുമത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു ശബ്ബത്തില് സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. And behold, a man was there with one withered hand. And they said to Him, Is it lawful or allowable to cure people on the Sabbath days?--that they might accuse Him.

11. അവന് അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഒരു ആടുണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതു ശബ്ബത്തില് കുഴിയില് വീണാല് അവന് അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു കയറ്റുകയില്ലയോ?

11. But He said to them, What man is there among you, if he has only one sheep and it falls into a pit or ditch on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out?

12. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യന് ആടിനെക്കാള് എത്ര വിശേഷതയുള്ളവന് . ആകയാല് ശബ്ബത്തില് നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വിഹിതം തന്നേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

12. How much better and of more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful and allowable to do good on the Sabbath days.

13. പിന്നെ ആ മനുഷ്യനോടു“കൈ നീട്ടുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് നീട്ടി, അതു മറ്റേതുപോലെ സൌഖ്യമായി.

13. Then He said to the man, Reach out your hand. And the man reached it out and it was restored, as sound as the other one.

14. പരീശന്മാരോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വേണ്ടി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു.

14. But the Pharisees went out and held a consultation against Him, how they might do away with Him.

15. യേശു അതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവിടം വിട്ടുപോയി, വളരെ പേര് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; അവന് അവരെ ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കി,

15. But being aware of this, Jesus went away from there. And many people joined and accompanied Him, and He cured all of them,

16. തന്നെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കരുതു എന്നു അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.

16. And strictly charged them and sharply warned them not to make Him publicly known.

17. “ഇതാ, ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത എന്റെ ദാസന് , എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ; ഞാന് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവന്റെമേല് വേക്കും; അവന് ജാതികള്ക്കു ന്യായവിധി അറിയിക്കും.”

17. This was in fulfillment of what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah,

18. അവന് കലഹിക്കയില്ല, നിലവിളിക്കയില്ല; ആരും തെരുക്കളില് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കയുമില്ല.

18. Behold, My Servant Whom I have chosen, My Beloved in and with Whom My soul is well pleased and has found its delight. I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall proclaim and show forth justice to the nations.

19. ചതഞ്ഞ ഔട അവന് ഒടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല; പുകയുന്ന തിരി കെടുത്തുകളകയില്ല; അവന് ന്യായവിധി ജയത്തോളം നടത്തും.

19. He will not strive or wrangle or cry out loudly; nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets;

20. അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് ജാതികള് പ്രത്യാശവേക്കും”

20. A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering (dimly burning) wick He will not quench, till He brings justice and a just cause to victory.

21. എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു നിവൃത്തി ആകുവാന് സംഗതിവന്നു.

21. And in and on His name will the Gentiles (the peoples outside of Israel) set their hopes. [Isa. 42:1-4.]

22. അനന്തരം ചിലര് കുരുടനും ഊമനുമായോരു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ഊമന് സംസാരിക്കയും കാണ്കയും ചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന് അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

22. Then a blind and dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus, and He cured him, so that the blind and dumb man both spoke and saw.

23. പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഇവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രന് തന്നേയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And all the [crowds of] people were stunned with bewildered wonder and said, This cannot be the Son of David, can it?

24. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര്ഇവന് ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനായ ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടല്ലാതെ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. But the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This Man drives out demons only by and with the help of Beelzebub, the prince of demons.

25. അവന് അവരുടെ നിരൂപണം അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ഒരു രാജ്യം തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് ശൂന്യമാകും;
1 ശമൂവേൽ 16:7

25. And knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Any kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation and laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will last or continue to stand.

26. ഒരു പട്ടണമോ ഗൃഹമോ തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല. സാത്താന് സാത്താനെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു പോയല്ലോ; പിന്നെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നിലനിലക്കും?

26. And if Satan drives out Satan, he has become divided against himself and disunified; how then will his kingdom last or continue to stand?

27. ഞാന് ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു പുറത്താക്കുന്നു? അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് ആകും.

27. And if I drive out the demons by [help of] Beelzebub, by whose [help] do your sons drive them out? For this reason they shall be your judges.

28. ദൈവാത്മാവിനാല് ഞാന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു സ്പഷ്ടം.

28. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you [before you expected it].

29. ബലവാനെ പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടീട്ടല്ലാതെ ബലവാന്റെ വീട്ടില് കടന്നു അവന്റെ കോപ്പു കവര്ന്നുകളവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടിയാല് പിന്നെ അവന്റെ വീടു കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യാം.
യെശയ്യാ 49:24

29. Or how can a person go into a strong man's house and carry off his goods (the entire equipment of his house) without first binding the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

30. എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തവന് എനിക്കു പ്രതിക്കുലം ആകുന്നു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചേര്ക്കാത്തവന് ചിതറിക്കുന്നു.

30. He who is not with Me [definitely on My side] is against Me, and he who does not [definitely] gather with Me and for My side scatters.

31. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസകലപാപവും ദൂഷണവും മനുഷ്യരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; ആത്മാവിന്നു നേരെയുള്ള ദൂഷണമോ ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

31. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy (every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things) can be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit shall not and cannot be forgiven.

32. ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന്നു നേരെ ഒരു വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതു അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്നു നേരെ പറഞ്ഞാലോ ഈ ലോകത്തിലും വരുവാനുള്ളതിലും അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

32. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Spirit, the Holy One, will not be forgiven, either in this world and age or in the world and age to come.

33. ഒന്നുകില് വൃക്ഷം നല്ലതു, ഫലവും നല്ലതു എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; അല്ലായ്കില് വൃക്ഷം ചീത്ത, ഫലവും ചീത്ത എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; ഫലം കൊണ്ടല്ലോ വൃക്ഷം അറിയുന്നതു.

33. Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit.

34. സര്പ്പസന്തതികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ദുഷ്ടരായിരിക്കെ നല്ലതു സംസാരിപ്പാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? ഹൃദയം നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്നതില് നിന്നല്ലോ വായ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.

34. You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.

35. നല്ല മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ നല്ല നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു നല്ലതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യന് ദുര്ന്നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു തീയതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

35. The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things.

36. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യര് പറയുന്ന ഏതു നിസ്സാരവാക്കിന്നും ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തില് കണകൂ ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

36. But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak.

37. നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.”

37. For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

38. അപ്പോള് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിലും പരീശന്മാരിലും ചിലര് അവനോടുഗുരോ, നീ ഒരു അടയാളം ചെയ്തുകാണ്മാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

38. Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, Teacher, we desire to see a sign or miracle from You [proving that You are what You claim to be].

39. “ദോഷവും വ്യഭിചാരവുമുള്ള തലമുറ അടയാളം തിരയുന്നു; യോനാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

39. But He replied to them, An evil and adulterous generation (a generation morally unfaithful to God) seeks and demands a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

40. യോനാ കടലാനയുടെ വയറ്റില് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉള്ളില് ഇരിക്കും.
യോനാ 1:17

40. For even as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [Jonah 1:17.]

41. നീനെവേക്കാര് ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവര് യോനയുടെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുവല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഇവിടെ യോനയിലും വലിയവന് .

41. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, Someone more and greater than Jonah is here! [Jonah 3:5.]

42. തെക്കെ രാജ്ഞി ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവള് ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്പ്പാന് ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളില് നിന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, ശലോമോനിലും വലിയവന് .

42. The queen of the South will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, Someone more and greater than Solomon is here. [I Kings 10:1; II Chron. 9:1.]

43. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നീരില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് കൂടി തണുപ്പു അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ലതാനും.

43. But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through dry [arid] places in search of rest, but it does not find any.

44. ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന എന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നു; ഉടനെ വന്നു, അതു ഒഴിഞ്ഞതും അടിച്ചുവാരി അലങ്കരിച്ചതുമായി കാണുന്നു.

44. Then it says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order, and decorated.

45. പിന്നെ അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, തന്നിലും ദുഷ്ടതയേറിയ വേറെ ഏഴു ആത്മാക്കളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; അവരും അവിടെ കയറി പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ സ്ഥിതി മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വല്ലാതെ ആകും; ഈ ദുഷ്ടതലമുറെക്കും അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കും.”

45. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation.

46. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയില് അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അവനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തു നിന്നു.

46. Jesus was still speaking to the people when behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to Him.

47. ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുനിന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Someone said to Him, Listen! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.

48. അതു പറഞ്ഞവനോടു അവന് “എന്റെ അമ്മ ആര് എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് ആര്” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

48. But He replied to the man who told Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?

49. ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി“ഇതാ, എന്റെ അമ്മയും എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും.

49. And stretching out His hand toward [not only the twelve disciples but all] His adherents, He said, Here are My mother and My brothers.

50. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന് എന്റെ സഹോദരനും സഹോദരിയും അമ്മയും ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

50. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother!
