1. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ശബ്ബത്തില് വിളഭൂമിയില്കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിശന്നിട്ടു കതിര് പറിച്ചു തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി
ആവർത്തനം 23:24-25

1. In that time went Jesus on the Sabbath day thorow the corn, and his disciples were anhungered,(hungry) and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

2. പരീശര് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ശബ്ബത്തില് വിഹിതമല്ലാത്തതു നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. When the pharisees had seen(saw) that, they said unto him: Behold thy disciples do that which is not lawful (for them) to do upon the Sabbath day.

3. അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ദാവീദ് തനിക്കും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും

3. He said unto them: Have ye not read what David did, when he was anhungered, and they also which were with him?

4. വിശന്നപ്പോള് ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു. പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും മാത്രമല്ലാതെ തനിക്കും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും തിന്മാന് വിഹിതമല്ലാത്ത കാഴ്ചയപ്പം തിന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

4. How he entered into the house of God, and ate the hallowed loaves, which were not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests.

5. അല്ല, ശബ്ബത്തില് പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും കുറ്റമില്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

5. Or have ye not read in the law, how that (on the Sabbath days) the priests in the temple break the Sabbath day, and yet are blameless?

6. എന്നാല് ദൈവാലയത്തെക്കാള് വലിയവന് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

6. But I say unto you, that here is one greater than the temple.

7. യാഗത്തിലല്ല, കരുണയില് അത്രേ, ഞാന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവരെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

7. Wherefore if ye had wist, what this saying meaneth: I require mercy, and not sacrifice,(I haue pleasure in mercy, and not in offering) ye would never have condemned innocents.

8. മനുഷ്യപുത്രനോ ശബ്ബത്തിന്നു കര്ത്താവാകുന്നു.”

8. For the son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.

9. അവന് അവിടം വിട്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നപ്പോള്, കൈ വരണ്ട ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

9. And he departed thence, and went into their synagogue,

10. അവര് അവനില് കുറ്റം ചുമത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു ശബ്ബത്തില് സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. and behold, there was a man, which had his hand dried up. And they asked him saying: Is it lawful to heal upon the Sabbath day?(days) because they might accuse him.

11. അവന് അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഒരു ആടുണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതു ശബ്ബത്തില് കുഴിയില് വീണാല് അവന് അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു കയറ്റുകയില്ലയോ?

11. And he said unto them: which is he among you,(which of you would it be) if he had a sheep fallen into a pit on the Sabbath day, that would not take him and lift him out?

12. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യന് ആടിനെക്കാള് എത്ര വിശേഷതയുള്ളവന് . ആകയാല് ശബ്ബത്തില് നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വിഹിതം തന്നേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

12. And how much is a man better then a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do a good deed on the Sabbath day.

13. പിന്നെ ആ മനുഷ്യനോടു“കൈ നീട്ടുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് നീട്ടി, അതു മറ്റേതുപോലെ സൌഖ്യമായി.

13. Then said he to the man: stretch forth thy hand, and he stretched (it) forth, and it was again made even as whole as(like unto) the other.

14. പരീശന്മാരോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വേണ്ടി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു.

14. Then the pharisees went forth,(out) and took(held a) council against him, how they might destroy him.

15. യേശു അതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവിടം വിട്ടുപോയി, വളരെ പേര് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; അവന് അവരെ ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കി,

15. When Jesus knew that, he departed thence, and much people followed him, and he healed them all;

16. തന്നെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കരുതു എന്നു അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.

16. and charged them, that they should not make him known,

17. “ഇതാ, ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത എന്റെ ദാസന് , എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ; ഞാന് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവന്റെമേല് വേക്കും; അവന് ജാതികള്ക്കു ന്യായവിധി അറിയിക്കും.”

17. to fulfil that which was spoken by Esay the prophet, which sayeth:

18. അവന് കലഹിക്കയില്ല, നിലവിളിക്കയില്ല; ആരും തെരുക്കളില് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കയുമില്ല.
യെശയ്യാ 41:9, യെശയ്യാ 42:1-4

18. Behold my son,(child) whom I have chosen, my darling,(beloved) in whom my soul hath had delight.(delighteth.) I will put my spirit on him, and he shall shew judgement to the gentiles.

19. ചതഞ്ഞ ഔട അവന് ഒടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല; പുകയുന്ന തിരി കെടുത്തുകളകയില്ല; അവന് ന്യായവിധി ജയത്തോളം നടത്തും.

19. He shall not strive, he shall not cry, neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets,

20. അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് ജാതികള് പ്രത്യാശവേക്കും”

20. a bruised reed, shall he not break, and flax that beginneth to burn he shall not quench, till he send forth judgement unto victory,

21. എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു നിവൃത്തി ആകുവാന് സംഗതിവന്നു.

21. and in his name shall the gentiles trust.

22. അനന്തരം ചിലര് കുരുടനും ഊമനുമായോരു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ഊമന് സംസാരിക്കയും കാണ്കയും ചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന് അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

22. Then was brought to him, one possessed with a devil which was both blind and dumb, and he healed him, insomuch that he which was blind and dumb, both spake and saw.

23. പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഇവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രന് തന്നേയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And all the people were amazed, and said: Is not this the son of David?

24. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര്ഇവന് ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനായ ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടല്ലാതെ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. (But) When the pharisees heard that, they said: He(This fellow) driveth the devils no other wise out, but by the help of belzebub the chief of the devils.

25. അവന് അവരുടെ നിരൂപണം അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ഒരു രാജ്യം തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് ശൂന്യമാകും;
1 ശമൂവേൽ 16:7

25. But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them. Every kingdom divided with in itself shall be desolate.(brought to nought.) Neither shall any city or household divided against itself, continue.

26. ഒരു പട്ടണമോ ഗൃഹമോ തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല. സാത്താന് സാത്താനെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു പോയല്ലോ; പിന്നെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നിലനിലക്കും?

26. So if satan cast out satan, then is he divided against(at variance within) him self. How shall then his kingdom endure?

27. ഞാന് ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു പുറത്താക്കുന്നു? അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് ആകും.

27. Also if I by the help of belzebub cast out devils: by whose help do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges:

28. ദൈവാത്മാവിനാല് ഞാന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു സ്പഷ്ടം.

28. But if I cast out the devils by the spirit of God: then is the kingdom of God come on you?

29. ബലവാനെ പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടീട്ടല്ലാതെ ബലവാന്റെ വീട്ടില് കടന്നു അവന്റെ കോപ്പു കവര്ന്നുകളവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടിയാല് പിന്നെ അവന്റെ വീടു കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യാം.
യെശയ്യാ 49:24

29. Either how can a man enter into a mighty(strong) man's house, and violently take away his goods, except he first bind the strong man, and then spoil his house?

30. എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തവന് എനിക്കു പ്രതിക്കുലം ആകുന്നു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചേര്ക്കാത്തവന് ചിതറിക്കുന്നു.

30. He that is not with me, is against me: And he that gathereth not with me, scattereth abroad.

31. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസകലപാപവും ദൂഷണവും മനുഷ്യരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; ആത്മാവിന്നു നേരെയുള്ള ദൂഷണമോ ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

31. Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men, but the blasphemy against the holy ghost,(of the spirit) shall not be forgiven unto men.

32. ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന്നു നേരെ ഒരു വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതു അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്നു നേരെ പറഞ്ഞാലോ ഈ ലോകത്തിലും വരുവാനുള്ളതിലും അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

32. And whosoever speaketh a word against the son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the holy ghost, it shall not be forgiven him: no, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

33. ഒന്നുകില് വൃക്ഷം നല്ലതു, ഫലവും നല്ലതു എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; അല്ലായ്കില് വൃക്ഷം ചീത്ത, ഫലവും ചീത്ത എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; ഫലം കൊണ്ടല്ലോ വൃക്ഷം അറിയുന്നതു.

33. Either(Other) make the tree good, and his fruit good also, or else make the tree evil, and his fruit evil also. For the tree is known by his fruit.

34. സര്പ്പസന്തതികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ദുഷ്ടരായിരിക്കെ നല്ലതു സംസാരിപ്പാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? ഹൃദയം നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്നതില് നിന്നല്ലോ വായ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.

34. O generation of vipers, how can ye say well, when ye yourselves are evil? For of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

35. നല്ല മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ നല്ല നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു നല്ലതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യന് ദുര്ന്നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു തീയതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

35. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth good things. And an evil man out of his evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things.

36. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യര് പറയുന്ന ഏതു നിസ്സാരവാക്കിന്നും ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തില് കണകൂ ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

36. But I say unto you, that of every idle word, that men shall have spoken, they shall give accounts at the day of judgement.

37. നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.”

37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified: and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

38. അപ്പോള് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിലും പരീശന്മാരിലും ചിലര് അവനോടുഗുരോ, നീ ഒരു അടയാളം ചെയ്തുകാണ്മാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

38. Then answered certain of the scribes and of the pharisees saying: Master, we would fain see a sign of thee.

39. “ദോഷവും വ്യഭിചാരവുമുള്ള തലമുറ അടയാളം തിരയുന്നു; യോനാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

39. He answered them saying: the evil and advoutrous generation seeketh a sign, but there shall no sign be given to them, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.

40. യോനാ കടലാനയുടെ വയറ്റില് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉള്ളില് ഇരിക്കും.
യോനാ 1:17

40. For as Jonas was three days, and three nights, in the whale's belly: so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41. നീനെവേക്കാര് ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവര് യോനയുടെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുവല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഇവിടെ യോനയിലും വലിയവന് .

41. The men of Nineveh shall rise at the day of judgement, with this nation, and condemn them: for they repented(amended) at the preaching of Jonas. And behold a greater than Jonas is here.

42. തെക്കെ രാജ്ഞി ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവള് ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്പ്പാന് ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളില് നിന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, ശലോമോനിലും വലിയവന് .

42. The queen of the south shall rise at the day of judgement with this generation, and shall condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the world, to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold here is a greater than Solomon.(is here.)

43. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നീരില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് കൂടി തണുപ്പു അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ലതാനും.

43. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh throughout dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44. ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന എന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നു; ഉടനെ വന്നു, അതു ഒഴിഞ്ഞതും അടിച്ചുവാരി അലങ്കരിച്ചതുമായി കാണുന്നു.

44. Then he sayeth: I will return again into my house, from whence I came out. And when he is come, he findeth the house empty and swept, and garnished.

45. പിന്നെ അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, തന്നിലും ദുഷ്ടതയേറിയ വേറെ ഏഴു ആത്മാക്കളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; അവരും അവിടെ കയറി പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ സ്ഥിതി മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വല്ലാതെ ആകും; ഈ ദുഷ്ടതലമുറെക്കും അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കും.”

45. Then he goeth his way, and taketh (unto him) seven (other) spirits worse than him self, and so enter they in and dwell there. And the end of that man is worse than the beginning. Even so shall it be to(with) this froward(evil) nation.

46. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയില് അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അവനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തു നിന്നു.

46. While he yet talked to the people: behold, his mother and his brethren stood without the doors, desiring to speak with him.

47. ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുനിന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Then one said unto him: Behold thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48. അതു പറഞ്ഞവനോടു അവന് “എന്റെ അമ്മ ആര് എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് ആര്” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

48. He answered and said to him that told him: Who is my mother? or who are my brethren?

49. ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി“ഇതാ, എന്റെ അമ്മയും എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും.

49. And he stretched forth his hand over his disciples, and said: Behold my mother and my brethren.

50. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന് എന്റെ സഹോദരനും സഹോദരിയും അമ്മയും ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

50. For whosoever fulfilleth(doth) my fathers will which is in heaven, he(the same) is my brother, my sister, and my mother.
