1. ഈ വചനങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു തീര്ന്നശേഷം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു

1. Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples,

2. “രണ്ടു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പെസഹ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; അന്നു മനുഷ്യ പുത്രനെ ക്രൂശിപ്പാന് ഏല്പിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.

3. അന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും കയ്യഫാമഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മണ്ഡപത്തില് വന്നു കൂടി.

3. Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

4. യേശുവിനെ ഉപായത്താല് പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലുവാന് ആലോചിച്ചു;

4. and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him.

5. എങ്കിലും ജനത്തില് കലഹമുണ്ടാകാതിരിപ്പാന് പെരുനാളില് അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. But they said, Not during the Feast, that there not be an uproar among the people.

6. യേശു ബേഥാന്യയില് കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയായിരുന്ന ശീമോന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്

6. And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,

7. ഒരു സ്ത്രീ വിലയേറിയ പരിമളതൈലം നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു വെണ്കല്ഭരണി എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കെ വന്നു, അവന് പന്തിയില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അതു അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചു.

7. a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly ointment, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.

8. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടു മുഷിഞ്ഞുഈ വെറും ചെലവു എന്തിന്നു?

8. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, Why this waste?

9. ഇതു വളരെ വിലെക്കു വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കാമായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.

10. യേശു അതു അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു“സ്ത്രീയെ അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തു? അവള് എങ്കല് നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തിയല്ലോ ചെയ്തതു.

10. But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work toward Me.

11. ദരിദ്രര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലായ്പേഴും ഇല്ലതാനും.

11. For you have the poor with you always, but you do not always have Me.

12. അവള് ഈ തൈലം എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്മേല് ഒഴിച്ചതു എന്റെ ശവസംസ്ക്കാരത്തിന്നായി ചെയ്തതാകുന്നു.

12. For in pouring this ointment on My body, she did it for My burial.

13. ലോകത്തില് എങ്ങും, ഈ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നേടത്തെല്ലാം, അവള് ചെയ്തതും അവളുടെ ഔര്മ്മെക്കായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Truly, I say to you, Wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial of her.

14. Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

15. നിങ്ങള് എന്തു തരും? ഞാന് അവനെ കാണിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുഅവര് അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

15. and said, What will you give me, and I will deliver Him to you? And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

16. അന്നു മുതല് അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് അവന് തക്കം അന്വേഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

16. So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

17. പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം നാളില് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുനീ പെസഹ കഴിപ്പാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഒരുക്കേണ്ടതു എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?

18. അതിന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങള് നഗരത്തില് ഇന്നവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുഎന്റെ സമയം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്റെ ശിഷ്യരുമായി നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പെസഹ കഴിക്കും എന്നു ഗുരു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന്.”

18. And He said, Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.

19. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് യേശു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു പെസഹ ഒരുക്കി.

19. So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and prepared the Passover.

20. സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള് അവന് പന്ത്രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പന്തിയില് ഇരുന്നു.

20. When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.

21. അവര് ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്“നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുവന് എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And as they were eating, He said, Truly, I say to you, One of you will betray Me.

22. അപ്പോള് അവര് അത്യന്തം ദുഃഖിച്ചുഞാനോ, ഞാനോ, കര്ത്താവേ, എന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന് പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

22. And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, Lord, it is not I is it?

23. അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“എന്നോടുകൂടെ കൈ താലത്തില് മുക്കുന്നവന് തന്നേ എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

23. He answered and said, He who dips his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

24. തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന് പോകുന്നു സത്യം; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നോ ഹാ കഷ്ടം; ആ മനുഷ്യന് ജനിക്കാതിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന്നു കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.”

24. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he was never born.

25. എന്നാറെ അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്ന യൂദാഞാനോ, റബ്ബീ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു“നീ തന്നേ” എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, Rabbi, it is not I is it? He said to him, You have said it.

26. അവര് ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു“വാങ്ങി ഭക്ഷിപ്പിന്; ഇതു എന്റെ ശരീരം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

27. പിന്നെ പാനപാത്രം എടുത്തു സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലി അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു“എല്ലാവരും ഇതില് നിന്നു കുടിപ്പിന്.

27. Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink all of it.

28. ഇതു അനേകര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി പാപമോചനത്തിന്നായി ചൊരിയുന്ന പുതിയ നിയമത്തിന്നുള്ള എന്റെ രക്തം; എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തില് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പുതുതായി കുടിക്കുംനാള്വരെ ഞാന് മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ ഈ അനുഭവത്തില് നിന്നു ഇനി കുടിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

29. പിന്നെ അവര് സ്തോത്രം പാടിയശേഷം ഒലീവ് മലെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.

29. But I say to you, I will not at all drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom.

30. യേശു അവരോടു“ഈ രാത്രിയില് നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും എങ്കല് ഇടറും; ഞാന് ഇടയനെ വെട്ടും; കൂട്ടത്തിലെ ആടുകള് ചിതറിപ്പോകും എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

30. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

31. എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പായി ഗലീലെക്കു പോകും.”

31. Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

32. അതിന്നു പത്രൊസ്; എല്ലാവരും നിങ്കല് ഇടറിയാലും ഞാന് ഒരുനാളും ഇടറുകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

32. But after I have been raised, I will go before you into Galilee.

33. യേശു അവനോടു“ഈ രാത്രിയില് കോഴി ക്കുകുംമുമ്പെ നീ മൂന്നുവട്ടം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. Peter answered and said to Him, Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.

34. നിന്നോടു കൂടെ മരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറകയില്ല എന്നു പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അതുപോലെ തന്നേ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും പറഞ്ഞു.

34. Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.

35. അനന്തരം യേശു അവരുമായി ഗെത്ത് ശെമന എന്ന തോട്ടത്തില് വന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു“ഞാന് അവിടെ പോയി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു വരുവോളം ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിന്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

35. Peter said to Him, Even if I have to die with You, I will not at all deny You! And so said all the disciples.

36. പത്രൊസിനെയും സെബെദി പുത്രന്മാര് ഇരുവരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു ദുഃഖിച്ചും വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടും തുടങ്ങി

36. Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, Sit here while I go and pray over there.

37. “എന്റെ ഉള്ളം മരണവേദനപോലെ അതിദുഃഖിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇവിടെ താമസിച്ചു എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണര്ന്നിരിപ്പിന്” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and in extreme anguish.

38. പിന്നെ അവന് അല്പം മുമ്പോട്ടുചെന്നു കവിണ്ണുവീണു“പിതാവേ, കഴിയും എങ്കില് ഈ പാനപാത്രം എങ്കല് നിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകേണമേ; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുംപോലെ അല്ല, നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുംപോലെ ആകട്ടെ” എന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

38. And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death. Stay here and watch with Me.

39. പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു, അവര് ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു കണ്ടു, പത്രൊസിനോടു“എന്നോടു കൂടെ ഒരു നാഴികപോലും ഉണര്ന്നിരിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലയോ?

39. And He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

40. പരീക്ഷയില് അകപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാന് ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് ; ആത്മാവു ഒരുക്കമുള്ളതു, ജഡമോ ബലഹീനമത്രേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. And He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, What? Were you not able to watch with Me one hour?

41. രണ്ടാമതും പോയി“പിതാവേ, ഞാന് കുടിക്കാതെ അതു നീങ്ങിക്കൂടാ എങ്കില്, നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ആകട്ടെ” എന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

41. Watch and pray, that you not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42. അനന്തരം അവന് വന്നു, അവര് കണ്ണിന്നു ഭാരം ഏറുകയാല് പിന്നെയും ഉറങ്ങുന്നതുകണ്ടു.

42. Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.

43. അവരെ വിട്ടു മൂന്നാമതും പോയി ആ വചനം തന്നേ ചൊല്ലി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

43. And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

44. പിന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു“ഇനി ഉറങ്ങി ആശ്വസിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് ; നാഴിക അടുത്തു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് പാപികളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു;

44. So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45. എഴുന്നേല്പിന് , നാം പോക; ഇതാ, എന്നെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. Then He came to His disciples and said to them, Sleep on and rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being delivered into the hands of sinners.

46. അവന് സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പന്തിരുവരില് ഒരുത്തനായ യൂദയും അവനോടു കൂടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും അയച്ച വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരവും വാളും വടികളുമായി വന്നു.

46. Arise, let us be going. Behold, My betrayer is at hand.

47. അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവന് ; ഞാന് ഏവനെ ചുംബിക്കുമോ അവന് തന്നേ ആകുന്നു; അവനെ പിടിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു അവര്ക്കും ഒരു അടയാളം കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

47. And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

48. ഉടനെ അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുറബ്ബീ, വന്ദനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

48. Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.

49. യേശു അവനോടു“സ്നേഹിതാ, നീ വന്ന കാര്യം എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള് അവര് അടുത്തു യേശുവിന്മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു.

49. And immediately he went up to Jesus and said, Greetings, Rabbi; and kissed Him.

50. അപ്പോള് യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവരില് ഒരുവന് കൈ നീട്ടി വാള് ഊരി, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി അവന്റെ കാതു അറുത്തു.

50. But Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you here? Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.

51. യേശു അവനോടു“വാള് ഉറയില് ഇടുക; വാള് എടുക്കുന്നവര് ഒക്കെയും വാളാല് നശിച്ചുപോകും.

51. And behold, one of those with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

52. എന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ലെഗ്യോനിലും അധികം ദൂതന്മാരെ എന്റെ അരികെ നിറുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൂടാ എന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ?
ഉല്പത്തി 9:6

52. But Jesus said to him, Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

53. എന്നാല് ഇങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കേണം എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തുകള്ക്കു എങ്ങനെ നിവൃത്തിവരും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

53. Or do you think that I am not able now to pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?

54. ആ നാഴികയില് യേശു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു“ഒരു കള്ളന്റെ നേരെ എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ പിടിപ്പാന് വാളും വടിയുമായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് ദിവസേന ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവാലയത്തില് ഇരുന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ പിടിച്ചില്ല.

54. How then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen this way?

55. എന്നാല് ഇതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ എഴുത്തുകള് നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു സംഭവിച്ചു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും അവനെ വിട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

55. In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, Have you come out, as against a robber, to take Me with swords and clubs? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.

56. യേശുവിനെ പിടിച്ചവരോ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫായുടെ അടുക്കല് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടിയിരുന്നേടത്തു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
സെഖർയ്യാവു 13:7

56. But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

57. എന്നാല് പത്രൊസ് ദൂരവെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അരമനയോളം പിന് ചെന്നു, അകത്തു കടന്നു അവസാനം കാണ്മാന് സേവകന്മാരോടുകൂടി ഇരുന്നു

57. And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

58. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ന്യായാധിപസംഘം ഒക്കെയും യേശുവിനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചു;

58. But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest's courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

59. കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷികള് പലരും വന്നിട്ടും പറ്റിയില്ല.

59. Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,

60. ഒടുവില് രണ്ടുപേര് വന്നുദൈവമന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ചു മൂന്നു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടും പണിവാന് എനിക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു ഇവന് പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

60. but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward

61. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനോടുനീ ഒരു ഉത്തരവും പറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇവര് നിന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

61. and said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.

62. യേശുവോ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് പിന്നെയും അവനോടുനീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുതന്നേയോ? പറക എന്നു ഞാന് ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നോടു ആണയിട്ടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

62. And the high priest arose and said to Him, Do You answer nothing? What is it these men bear witness against You?

63. യേശു അവനോടു“ഞാന് ആകുന്നു; ഇനി മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് സര്വശക്തന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നതും ആകാശമേഘങ്ങളെ വാഹനമാക്കി വരുന്നതും നിങ്ങള് കാണും എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

63. But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure You by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!

64. Jesus said to him, You said it. Nevertheless, I say to you, Hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

65. Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard His blasphemy!

67. Then they spat in His face and beat Him with the fist; and others slapped Him,

68. എന്നാല് പത്രൊസ് പുറത്തു നടുമുറ്റത്തു ഇരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു വേലക്കാരത്തി വന്നുനീയും ഗലീലക്കാരനായ യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

68. saying, Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?

69. അതിന്നു അവന് നീ പറയുന്നതു എനിക്കു തിരിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു എല്ലാവരും കേള്ക്കെ തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.

69. Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.

70. പിന്നെ അവന് പടിപ്പുരയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മറ്റൊരുത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടു അവിടെയുള്ളവരോടുഇവനും നസറായനായ യേശുവിനോടു കൂടെയായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

70. But he denied it before them all, saying, I do not know what you are saying.

71. ആ മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന് രണ്ടാമതും ആണയോടെ തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.

71. And when he had gone out to the porch, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.

72. അല്പനേരം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവിടെ നിന്നവര് അടുത്തുവന്നു പത്രൊസിനോടുനീയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ഉള്ളവന് സത്യം; നിന്റെ ഉച്ചാരണവും നിന്നെ വെളിവാക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

72. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man!

73. അപ്പോള് അവന് ആ മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പ്രാകുവാനും ആണയിടുവാനും തുടങ്ങി; ഉടനെ കോഴി ക്കുകി.

73. And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.

74. എന്നാറെ“കോഴി ക്കുകുമുമ്പേ നീ മൂന്നു വട്ടം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയും” എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു പത്രൊസ് ഔര്ത്തു പുറത്തു പോയി അതി ദുഃഖത്തോടെ കരഞ്ഞു.

74. Then he began to curse and swear, saying, I do not know the Man! And immediately a rooster crowed.
