1. അവന് മലയില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നാറെ വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

1. Jesus came down from the mountainside. Large crowds followed him.

2. അപ്പോള് ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു കര്ത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. A man who had a skin disease came and got down on his knees in front of Jesus. He said, 'Lord, if you are willing to make me 'clean,' you can do it.'

3. അവന് കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു“എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; നീ ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം മാറി അവന് ശുദ്ധമായി.

3. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing to do it,' he said. 'Be 'clean'!' Right away the man was healed of his skin disease.

4. Then Jesus said to him, 'Don't tell anyone. Go and show yourself to the priest. Offer the gift Moses commanded. It will be a witness to them.'

5. When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Roman commander came to him. He asked Jesus for help.

6. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ചു കഠിനമായി വേദനപ്പെട്ടു വീട്ടില് കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. Lord,' he said, 'my servant lies at home and can't move. He is suffering terribly.'

7. അവന് അവനോടു“ഞാന് വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

7. Jesus said, 'I will go and heal him.'

8. അതിന്നു ശതാധിപന് കര്ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യനല്ല; ഒരു വാക്കുമാത്രം കല്പിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

8. The commander replied, 'Lord, I am not good enough to have you come into my house. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

9. ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് ആകുന്നു. എന്റെ കീഴില് പടയാളികള് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് ഒരുവനോടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടുഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. I myself am a man under authority. And I have soldiers who obey my orders. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes. I tell that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it.'

10. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യേശു അതിശയിച്ചു, പിന് ചെല്ലുന്നവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“യിസ്രായേലില്കൂടെ ഇത്ര വലിയ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

10. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. He said to those following him, 'What I'm about to tell you is true. In Israel I have not found anyone whose faith is so strong.

11. കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും അനേകര് വന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും കൂടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് പന്തിക്കിരിക്കും.

11. 'I say to you that many will come from the east and the west. They will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of heaven. They will sit with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

12. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേയോ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുളിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

12. But those who think they belong to the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness. There they will sob and grind their teeth.'

13. പിന്നെ യേശു ശതാധിപനോടു“പോക, നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചതു പോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

13. Then Jesus said to the Roman commander, 'Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.' And his servant was healed at that very hour.

14. യേശു പത്രോസിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

14. When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother?in?law. She was lying in bed. She had a fever.

15. അവന് അവളുടെ കൈതൊട്ടു പനി അവളെ വിട്ടു; അവള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു.

15. Jesus touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and began to wait on him.

16. വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോള് പല ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കി സകലദീനക്കാര്ക്കും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തി.

16. When evening came, many people controlled by demons were brought to Jesus. He drove out the spirits with a word. He healed all who were sick.

17. അവന് നമ്മുടെ ബലഹീനതകളെ എടുത്തു വ്യാധികളെ ചുമന്നു എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന് തന്നേ.

17. He did it to make what the prophet Isaiah had said come true. He had said, 'He suffered the things we should have suffered. He took on himself the sicknesses that should have been ours.' --(Isaiah 53:4)

18. എന്നാല് യേശു തന്റെ ചുറ്റും വളരെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ അക്കരെക്കു പോകുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

18. Jesus saw the crowd around him. So he gave his disciples orders to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.

19. അന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പോയാലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Then a teacher of the law came to him. He said, 'Teacher, I will follow you no matter where you go.'

20. യേശു അവനോടു“കുറുനരികള്ക്കു കുഴികളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകള്ക്കു കൂടുകളും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തലചായിപ്പാന് ഇടം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

20. Jesus replied, 'Foxes have holes. Birds of the air have nests. But the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.'

21. ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് വേറൊരുത്തന് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് മുമ്പെപോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

21. Another follower said to him, 'Lord, first let me go and bury my father.'

22. യേശു അവനോടു“നീ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; മരിച്ചവര് തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. But Jesus told him, 'Follow me. Let the dead bury their own dead.'

23. അവന് ഒരു പടകില് കയറിയപ്പോള് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

23. Jesus got into a boat. His disciples followed him.

24. പിന്നെ കടലില് വലിയ ഔളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പടകു തിരകളാല് മുങ്ങുമാറായി; അവനോ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

24. Suddenly a terrible storm came up on the lake. The waves crashed over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

25. അവര് അടുത്തുചെന്നുകര്ത്താവേ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേഞങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തി.

25. The disciples went and woke him up. They said, 'Lord! Save us! We're going to drown!'

26. അവന് അവരോടു“അല്പവിശ്വാസികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ഭീരുക്കള് ആകുവാന് എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും കടലിനെയും ശാസിച്ചപ്പോള് വലിയ ശാന്തതയുണ്ടായി.

26. He replied, 'Your faith is so small! Why are you so afraid?' Then Jesus got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop. It became completely calm.

27. എന്നാറെ ആ മനുഷ്യര് അതിശയിച്ചുഇവന് എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് ? കാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. The disciples were amazed. They asked, 'What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!'

28. അവന് അക്കരെ ഗദരേനരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തിയാറെ രണ്ടു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര് ശവക്കല്ലറകളില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്നു എതിരെ വന്നു; അവര് അത്യുഗ്രന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആര്ക്കും ആ വഴി നടന്നുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

28. Jesus arrived at the other side of the lake in the area of the Gadarenes. Two men controlled by demons met him. They came from the tombs. The men were so wild that no one could pass that way.

29. അവര് നിലവിളിച്ചുദൈവപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിപ്പാന് ഇവിടെ വന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Son of God, what do you want with us?' they shouted. 'Have you come here to punish us before the time for us to be judged?'

30. അവര്ക്കകലെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

30. Not very far away, a large herd of pigs was feeding.

31. ഭൂതങ്ങള് അവനോടുഞങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് പന്നിക്കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

31. The demons begged Jesus, 'If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.'

32. “പൊയ്ക്കൊള്വിന് ” എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; ആ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വെള്ളത്തില് മുങ്ങി ചത്തു.

32. Jesus said to them, 'Go!' So the demons came out of the men and went into the pigs. The whole herd rushed down the steep bank. They ran into the lake and drowned in the water.

33. മേയക്കുന്നവര് ഔടി പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു സകലവും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്ഥരുടെ വസ്തുതയും അറിയിച്ചു.

33. Those who were tending the pigs ran off. They went into the town and reported all this. They told the people what had happened to the men who had been controlled by demons.

34. ഉടനെ പട്ടണം എല്ലാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്നു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടാറെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിട്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

34. Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their area.
