1. അവന് അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു, തന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തില് ചെന്നു; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും അനുഗമിച്ചു.

1. And he departed thence, and came in to his awne countre, and his disciples folowed him.

2. ശബ്ബത്തായപ്പോള് അവന് പള്ളിയില് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; പലരും കേട്ടു വിസ്മയിച്ചുഇവന്നു ഇവ എവിടെനിന്നു? ഇവന്നു കിട്ടിയ ഈ ജ്ഞാനവും ഇവന്റെ കയ്യാല് നടക്കുന്ന വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളും എന്തു?

2. And wha ye Sabbath came, he begane to teach in their synagoge. And many that herde it, marueled at his lernynge, and sayde: From whece hath he these thinges? And what wyssdome is this, yt is geue him: & soch actes as are done by his handes?

3. ഇവന് മറിയയുടെ മകനും യാക്കോബ് യോസെ, യൂദാ, ശിമോന് എന്നവരുടെ സഹോദരനുമായ തച്ചനല്ലയോ? ഇവന്റെ സഹോദരികളും ഇവിടെ നമ്മോടു കൂടെ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവങ്കല് ഇടറിപ്പോയി.

3. Is not this the Carpenter the sonne of Mary, and the brother of Iames and Ioses, and of Iude and Symon? Are not his sisters here with vs also? And they were offended at him.

4. യേശു അവരോടുഒരു പ്രവാചകന് തന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിലും ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരുടെ ഇടയിലും സ്വന്ത ഭവനത്തിലും അല്ലാതെ ബഹുമാനമില്ലാത്തവന് അല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. But Iesus saide vnto the: A prophet is nowhere lesse set by, the in his awne countre, & at home amonge his awne.

5. ഏതാനും ചില രോഗികളുടെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിയതു അല്ലാതെ അവിടെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തി ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

5. And he coude not shew one miracle there, but layed his handes vpon a few sicke, and healed them.

6. അവരുടെ അവിശ്വാസം ഹേതുവായി അവന് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു. അവന് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ഊരുകളില് ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു പോന്നു.

6. And he marueyled at their vnbeleue.And he wente aboute in the townes on euery syde, and taught them.

7. അനന്തരം അവന് പന്തിരുവരെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു, അവരെ ഈരണ്ടായി അയച്ചു തുടങ്ങി, അവര്ക്കും അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളുടെ മേല് അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

7. And called the twolue, and begane to sende them two and two, and gaue them power ouer the vncleane spretes.

8. അവര് വഴിക്കു വടി അല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും എടുക്കരുതു; അപ്പവും പൊക്കണവും മടിശ്ശീലയില് കാശും അരുതു; ചെരിപ്പു ഇട്ടുകൊള്ളാം;

8. And commaunded the, that they shulde take nothinge with them towarde their iourney, saue onely a rodde: no scrippe, no bred, no money in the gerdell,

9. രണ്ടു വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കരുതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

9. but shulde be shod with sandales, and that they shulde not put on two cotes.

10. നിങ്ങള് എവിടെയെങ്കിലും ഒരു വീട്ടില് ചെന്നാല് അവിടം വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുവോളം അതില് തന്നേ പാര്പ്പിന് .

10. And he sayde vnto them: Where so euer ye shal entre in to an house, there abyde, tyll ye go thence.

11. ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാല് അവിടം വിട്ടു പോകുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലിലെ പൊടി അവര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി കുടഞ്ഞുകളവിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. And who so euer wyll not receaue you, ner heare you, departe out from thence, and shake of the dust from youre fete, for a wytnesse vnto them. I saye vnto you verely: It shal be easyer for Sodome and Gomorra in the daye of iudgment, then for that cite.

12. അങ്ങനെ അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടേണം എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു;

12. And they wete forth, and preached, that men shulde amede them selues,

13. വളരെ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും അനേകം രോഗികള്ക്കു എണ്ണതേച്ചു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

13. and they cast out many deuyls: and many that were sicke anoynted they with oyle, and healed the.

14. ഇങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ പേര് പ്രസിദ്ധമായി വരികയാല് ഹെരോദാരാജാവു കേട്ടിട്ടു; യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ ശക്തികള് അവനില് വ്യാപരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. And it came to kynge Herods eares (for his name was now knowne) and he sayde: Ihon the baptist is rysen agayne from the deed, and therfore are his dedes so mightie.

15. അവന് ഏലീയാവാകുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് പറഞ്ഞു. വേറെ ചിലര്അവന് പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. But some sayde: It is Elias. thme sayde: It is a prophet, or one of ye prophetes.

16. അതു ഹെരോദാവു കേട്ടാറെഞാന് തലവെട്ടിച്ച യോഹന്നാന് ആകുന്നു അവന് ; അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. But when Herode herde it, he sayde: It is Ihon whom I beheeded, he is rysen againe from the deed.

17. ഹെരോദാ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഫീലിപ്പോസിന്റെ ഭാര്യ ഹെരോദ്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവള്നിമിത്തം ആളയച്ചു, യോഹന്നാനെ പിടിച്ചു തടവില് ആക്കിയിരുന്നു.

17. This Herode had sent forth, and taken Ihon, and put him in preson, because of Herodias his brother Philippes wife, for he had maried her.

18. സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു യോഹന്നാന് ഹെരോദാവോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

18. Neuertheles Ihon sayde vnto Herode It is not laufull for the to haue yi brothers wife.

19. ഹെരോദ്യയോ അവന്റെ നേരെ പകവെച്ചു അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാനും ഇച്ഛിച്ചു; സാധിച്ചില്ല താനും.

19. But Herodias layed wayte for him, and wolde haue slayne him, and coude not.

20. യോഹന്നാന് നീതിയും വിശുദ്ധിയുമുള്ള പുരുഷന് എന്നു ഹെരോദാവു അറിഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവനെ കാത്തുകൊള്കയും ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടിട്ടു വളരെ കലങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കേട്ടുപോകുന്നു.

20. Notwithstodinge Herode feared Iho, for he knew that he was a iust and holy man: and he kepte him, and herkened vnto him in many thinges, and herde him gladly.

21. എന്നാല് ഹെരോദാവു തന്റെ ജനനോത്സവത്തില് തന്റെ മഹത്തുക്കള്ക്കും സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാര്ക്കും ഗലീലയിലെ പ്രമാണികള്ക്കും വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചപ്പോള് ഒരു തരം വന്നു.

21. And there came a conuenient daye, that Herode on his byrth daye made a supper to the lordes, captaynes and chefe estates of Galile.

22. ഹെരോദ്യയുടെ മകള് അകത്തു ചെന്നു നൃത്തം ചെയ്തു ഹെരോദാവിനെയും വിരുന്നുകാരെയും പ്രസാദിപ്പിച്ച സമയംമനസ്സുള്ളതു എന്തെങ്കിലും എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചു കൊള്ക; നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു രാജാവു ബാലയോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. Then the daughter of Herodias came in, and daunsed, and pleased Herode, and them that sat at the table. Then sayde the kynge vnto ye damsel: Axe of me what thou wilt, I wil geue it the.

23. എന്തു ചോദിച്ചാലും, രാജ്യത്തില് പകുതിയോളം ആയാലും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

23. And he sware vnto her: What soeuer thou shalt axe of me, I wil geue it the, euen vnto ye one half of my kyngdome.

24. അവള് പുറത്തിറങ്ങി അമ്മയോടുഞാന് എന്തു ചോദിക്കേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുയോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന്റെ തല എന്നു അവള് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. She wente forth, and sayde vnto hir mother: what shal I axe? She sayde: Ihon baptistes heade.

25. ഉടനെ അവള് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുഇപ്പോള് തന്നെ യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന്റെ തല ഒരു തളികളയില് തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And immediatly she wete in to the kinge with haist, and sayde: I will that thou geue me straight waye in a platter the heed of Ihon the baptist.

26. രാജാവു അതിദുഃഖിനായി എങ്കിലും ആണയെയും വിരുന്നുകാരെയും വിചാരിച്ചു അവളോടു നിഷേധിപ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാഞ്ഞു.

26. Then the kynge was sory: Yet for the oothes sake and the that sat at the table, he wolde not saye her nay.

27. ഉടനെ രാജാവു ഒരു അകമ്പടിയെ അയച്ചു, അവന്റെ തല കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

27. And immediatly he sent the hangman, and commaunded his heade to be brought in. So he wete, and heeded him in the preson,

28. അവന് പോയി തടവില് അവനെ ശിര:ഛേദം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ തല ഒരു തളികയില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ബാലെക്കു കൊടുത്തു; ബാല അമ്മെക്കു കൊടുത്തു.

28. and brought his heade in a platter, and gaue it vnto the damsell, and the damsell gaue it vnto hir mother.

29. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ ശവം എടുത്തു ഒരു കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചു.

29. And whan his disciples herde that, they came and toke his body, & layed it in a graue.

30. പിന്നെ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി തങ്ങള് ചെയ്തതും ഉപദേശിച്ചതും എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു.

30. And the Apostles came together vnto Iesus, and tolde hi all, and what they had done and taught.

31. വരുന്നവരും പോകുന്നവരും വളരെ ആയിരുന്നതിനാല് അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാമ്പോലും സമയം ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഒരു ഏകാന്തസ്ഥലത്തു വേറിട്ടുവന്നു അല്പം ആശ്വസിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And he sayde vnto them: Let vs go out of the waye in to the wyldernes, and rest a litle. For there were many comers and goers, and they had not tyme ynough to eate.

32. അങ്ങനെ അവര് പടകില് കയറി ഒരു ഏകാന്ത സ്ഥലത്തു വേറിട്ടുപോയി.

32. And there he passed by shippe out of ye waye in to a deserte place.

33. അവര് പോകുന്നതു പലരും കണ്ടു അറിഞ്ഞു, എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് നിന്നും കാല്നടയായി അവിടേക്കു ഔടി, അവര്ക്കും മുന്പ് എത്തി.

33. And the people sawe the departynge awaye, and many knewe of it, & ranne thither together of fote out of all cities, & came before the, & came vnto him.

34. അവന് പടകില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയാറെ വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടു, അവര് ഇടയന് ഇല്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആകകൊണ്ടു അവരില് മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു പലതും ഉപദേശിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

34. And Iesus wente out, and sawe moch people, and had copassion vpon them: for they were as the shepe, that haue no shepherde, and he begane a loge sermon.

35. പിന്നെ നേരം നന്നേ വൈകീട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു; ഇതു നിര്ജ്ജനപ്രദേശം അല്ലോ;

35. Now whan the daye was farre past, his disciples came vnto him, and sayde: This is a deserte place,

36. നേരവും നന്നേ വൈകി; ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് അവര് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള കുടിലുകളിലും ഊരുകളിലും ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് വല്ലതും കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. let them departe, that they maye go in to the vyllagies and townes rounde aboute, and bye them selues bred, for they haue nothinge to eate.

37. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതിന്നുഞങ്ങള് പോയി ഇരുനൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു അപ്പം കൊണ്ടിട്ടു അവര്ക്കും തിന്മാന് കൊടുക്കയോ എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. But Iesus answered and sayde vnto them: geue ye them to eate.And they sayde vnto him: Shal we go then, and bye two hundreth peny worth of bred, and geue them to eate?

38. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു? ചെന്നു നോക്കുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് നോക്കിട്ടുഅഞ്ചു, രണ്ടു മീനും ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. He sayde vnto them: How many loaues haue ye? Go and se. And when they had searched, they sayde: Fyue, and two fisshes.

39. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഎല്ലാവരെയും പച്ചപ്പുല്ലില് പന്തിപന്തിയായി ഇരുത്തുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

39. And he commaunded them all to syt downe by table fulles vpon the grene grasse.

40. അവര് നൂറും അമ്പതും വീതം നിരനിരയായി ഇരുന്നു.

40. And they sat downe here a rowe and there a rowe by hundreds and by fifties.

41. അവന് ആ അഞ്ചു അപ്പവും രണ്ടു മീനും എടുത്തു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കി വാഴ്ത്തി, അപ്പം നുറുക്കി, അവര്ക്കും വിളമ്പുവാന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു; ആ രണ്ടു മീനും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

41. And he toke the fyue loaues and two fisshes, and loked vp vnto heauen, and gaue thankes, and brake the loaues, and gaue to the disciples, to set before them. And the two fisshes parted he amonge them all.

42. എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി.

42. And they all ate, and were satisfied.

43. കഷണങ്ങളും മീന് നുറുക്കും പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

43. And they toke vp twolue baskettes full of ye broken peces and of the fisshes.

44. അപ്പം തിന്നവരോ അയ്യായിരം പുരുഷാന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു.

44. And they that ate, were aboute fyue thousande men.

45. താന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കുന്നതിനടയില് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഉടനെ പടകു കയറി അക്കരെ ബേത്ത്സയിദെക്കു നേരെ മുന്നോടുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

45. And anone he caused his disciples to go in to the shippe, and to passe ouer before him vnto Bethsaida, whyle he sent awaye the people.

46. അവരെ പറഞ്ഞച്ചു വിട്ടശേഷം താന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് മലയില് പോയി.

47. വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോള് പടകു കടലിന്റെ നടുവിലും താന് ഏകനായി കരയിലും ആയിരുന്നു.

47. And at euen was the shippe in the myddest of the see, and he alone vpon the londe.

48. കാറ്റു പ്രതിക്കുലം ആകകൊണ്ടു അവര് തണ്ടുവലിച്ചു വലയുന്നതു അവന് കണ്ടു ഏകദേശം രാത്രാ നാലാം യാമത്തില് കടലിന്മേല് നടന്നു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരെ കടന്നുപോകുവാന് ഭാവിച്ചു.

48. And he sawe that they were in parell with rowynge, for the wynde was agaynst them.And aboute the fourth watch of ye night he came vnto them, and walked vpon the see, and wolde haue gone ouer by the.

49. അവന് കടലിന്മേല് നടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഭൂതം എന്നു അവര് നിരൂപിച്ചു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

49. And whan they sawe him walkinge vpon the see, they thought it had bene a sprete, and cried out,

50. എല്ലാവരും അവനെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഉടനെ അവന് അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചുധൈര്യപ്പെടുവിന് ; ഞാന് തന്നേ ആകുന്നു; ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

50. for they sawe him all, and were afrayed. But immediatly he talked with them, and sayde vnto them: Be of good comforte, it is I, be not afrayed.

51. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു പടകില് കയറി, കാറ്റു അമര്ന്നു; അവര് ഉള്ളില് അത്യന്തം ഭ്രമിച്ചാശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

51. And he wete vnto them in to the shippe, and the wynde ceassed. And they were astonnyed, and marueled exceadingly:

52. അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം കടുത്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അപ്പത്തിന്റെ സംഗതി അവര് ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.

52. for they had forgotten the loaues, and their hert was blynded.

53. അവര് അക്കരെ എത്തി ഗെന്നേസരത്ത് ദേശത്തു അണഞ്ഞു.

53. And whan they were passed ouer, they came in to lande of Genezareth, and drue vp in to the hauen.

54. അവര് പടകില് നിന്നു ഇങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ ജനങ്ങള് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു.

54. And whan thy were come out of the shippe, immediatly they knewe him,

55. ആ നാട്ടില് ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റി ഔടി, അവന് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്ന ഇടത്തേക്കു ദീനക്കാരെ കിടക്കയില് എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടുവന്നു തുടങ്ങി.

55. and ranne thorow out all the region aboute, and beganne on euery syde to brynge vnto him in beddes soch as were sicke, where they herde that he was.

56. ഊരുകളിലോ പട്ടണങ്ങിലോ കുടികളിലോ അവന് ചെന്നെടത്തൊക്കെയും അവര് ചന്തകളില് രോഗികളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു വെച്ചു, അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ തൊങ്ങല് എങ്കിലും തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കയും അവനെ തൊട്ടവര്ക്കും ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യം വരികയും ചെയ്തു.

56. And whither so euer he entred in to townes, cities or vyllagies, there layed they the sicke in the market place, and prayed him, that they might but touch the hemme of his garment. And as many as touched him, were made whole.
