1. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കെ അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കല് വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു

1. Another time there were many people with Jesus. The people had nothing to eat. So he called his followers to him and said,

2. ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു അവരോടു അലിവു തോന്നുന്നു;

2. I feel sorry for these people. They have been with me for three days, and now they have nothing to eat.

3. ഞാന് അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചാല് അവര് വഴിയില് വെച്ചു തളര്ന്നു പോകും; അവരില് ചിലര് ദൂരത്തുനിന്നുവന്നവരല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. I should not send them home hungry. If they leave without eating, they will faint on the way home. Some of them live a long way from here.'

4. അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ഇവര്ക്കും ഇവിടെ മരുഭൂമിയില് അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Jesus' followers answered, 'But we are far away from any towns. Where can we get enough bread to feed all these people?'

5. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Then Jesus asked them, 'How many loaves of bread do you have?' They answered, 'We have seven loaves of bread.'

6. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ആ ഏഴപ്പം എടുത്തു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു നുറുക്കി, ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കല് വിളമ്പുവാന് കൊടുത്തു; അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തിനു വിളമ്പി.

6. Jesus told the people to sit on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and gave thanks to God. He broke the bread into pieces and gave them to his followers. He told them to give the bread to the people, and they did as he said.

7. ചെറിയ മീനും കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതും അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു, വിളമ്പുവാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

7. The followers also had a few small fish. Jesus gave thanks for the fish and told them to give the fish to the people.

8. അവര് തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണങ്ങള് ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

8. They all ate until they were full. Then the followers filled seven baskets with the pieces of food that were left.

9. അവര് ഏകദേശം നാലായിരം പേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

9. There were about 4000 men who ate. After they ate, Jesus told them to go home.

10. അവന് അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ച ഉടനെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കൂടെ പടകു കയറി ദല്മനൂഥ അംശങ്ങളില് എത്തി.

10. Then he went in a boat with his followers to the area of Dalmanutha.

11. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് വന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളം അന്വേഷിച്ചു അവനുമായി തര്ക്കിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

11. The Pharisees came to Jesus and asked him questions. They wanted to test him. So they asked him to do a miracle as a sign from God.

12. അവന് ആത്മാവില്ഞരങ്ങിഈ തലമുറ അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഈ തലമുറെക്കു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

12. Jesus sighed deeply and said, 'Why do you people ask to see a miracle as a sign? I want you to know that no miracle will be done to prove anything to you.'

13. അവരെ വിട്ടു പിന്നെയും പടകു കയറി അക്കരെക്കു കടന്നു.

13. Then Jesus left them and went in the boat to the other side of the lake.

14. അവര് അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുപോരുവാന് മറന്നു പോയിരുന്നു; പടകില് അവരുടെ പക്കല് ഒരു അപ്പം മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.

14. The followers had only one loaf of bread with them in the boat. They forgot to bring more bread.

15. അവന് അവരോടുനോക്കുവിന് , പരീശരുടെ പുളിച്ചമാവും ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ പുളിച്ചമാവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

15. Jesus warned them, 'Be careful! Guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod. '

16. നമുക്കു അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

16. The followers discussed the meaning of this. They said, 'He said this because we have no bread.'

17. അതു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ഇപ്പോഴും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

17. Jesus knew that the followers were talking about this. So he asked them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are you not able to understand?

18. കണ്ണു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കണുന്നില്ലയോ? ചെവി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഔര്ക്കുംന്നതുമില്ലയോ?

18. Do you have eyes that can't see? Do you have ears that can't hear? Remember what I did before, when we did not have enough bread?

19. അയ്യായിരംപേര്ക്കും ഞാന് അഞ്ചു അപ്പം നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര കൊട്ട നിറച്ചടുത്തു? പന്ത്രണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. I divided five loaves of bread for 5000 people. Remember how many baskets you filled with pieces of food that were not eaten?' The followers answered, 'We filled twelve baskets.'

20. നാലായിരം പേര്ക്കും ഏഴു നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു? ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള് ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And when I divided seven loaves of bread for 4000 people, how many baskets did you fill with the leftover pieces?' They answered, 'We filled seven baskets.'

21. അവര് ബേത്ത് സയിദയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് ഒരു കുരുടനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവനെ തൊടേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

21. Then he said to them, 'You remember these things I did, but you still don't understand?'

22. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചുനീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. Jesus and his followers came to Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch the man.

23. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു; നീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. So Jesus held the blind man's hand and led him out of the village. Then he spit on the man's eyes. He laid his hands on him and asked, 'Can you see now?'

24. അവന് മേല്പോട്ടു നോക്കിഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെ കാണുന്നു; അവര് നടക്കുന്നതു മരങ്ങള് പോലെയത്രേ കാണുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. The man looked up and said, 'Yes, I see people. They look like trees walking around.'

25. പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് കൈ വെച്ചാറെ അവന് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു മിഴിച്ചുനോക്കി എല്ലാം സ്പഷ്ടമായി കണ്ടു.

25. Again Jesus laid his hands on the man's eyes, and the man opened them wide. His eyes were healed, and he was able to see everything clearly.

26. നീ ഊരില് കടക്കപോലും അരുതു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.

26. Jesus told him to go home. He said, 'Don't go into the town.'

27. അനന്തരം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ കൈസര്യകൂ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലേക്കു പോയി; വഴിയില്വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുജനങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

27. Jesus and his followers went to the towns in the area of Caesarea Philippi. While they were traveling, Jesus asked the followers, 'Who do people say I am?'

28. യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെന്നു ചിലര്, ഏലീയാവെന്നു ചിലര്, പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് എന്നു അവര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28. They answered, 'Some people say you are John the Baptizer. Others say you are Elijah. And others say you are one of the prophets. '

29. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുനീ ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Then Jesus asked, 'Who do you say I am?' Peter answered, 'You are the Christ. '

30. പിന്നെ തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ആരോടും പറയരുതെന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഖണ്ഡിതമായി പറഞ്ഞു.

30. Jesus told the followers, 'Don't tell anyone who I am.'

31. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് പലതും സഹിക്കയും മൂപ്പന്മാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും വേണം എന്നു അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

31. Then Jesus began to teach his followers that the Son of Man must suffer many things. He taught that the Son of Man would not be accepted by the older Jewish leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the law. He said that the Son of Man must be killed and then rise from death after three days.

32. അവന് ഈ വാക്കു തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് അവനെ വേറിട്ടു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി;

32. Jesus told them everything that would happen. He did not keep anything secret. Peter took Jesus away from the other followers to talk to him alone. Peter criticized him for saying these things.

33. അവനോ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു പത്രൊസിനെ ശാസിച്ചുസാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടു പോ; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റേതല്ല മനുഷ്യരുടെതത്രേ കരുതുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. But Jesus turned and looked at his followers. Then he criticized Peter. He said to Peter, 'Get away from me, Satan! You don't care about the same things God does. You care only about things that people think are important.'

34. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെയും തന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെയും അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഒരുവന് എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അവന് തന്നെത്താന് ത്യജിച്ചു തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

34. Then Jesus called the crowd and his followers to him. He said, 'Any of you who want to be my follower must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me.

35. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അതിനെ കളയു; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെയും സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെയും നിമിത്തം തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാല് അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

35. Any of you who try to save the life you have will lose it. But you who give up your life for me and for the Good News will save it.

36. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് സര്വ്വലോകവും നേടുകയും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളകയും ചെയ്താല് അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

36. It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are lost.

37. അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി മനുഷ്യന് എന്തൊരു മറുവില കൊടുക്കും;

37. You could never pay enough to buy back your life.

38. വ്യഭിചാരവും പാപവും ഉള്ള ഈ തലമുറയില് ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നാണിച്ചാല് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ തേജസ്സില് വിശുദ്ധ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരുമ്പോള് നാണിക്കും;

38. People today are so sinful. They have not been faithful to God. As you live among them, don't be ashamed of me and my teaching. If that happens, I will be ashamed of you when I come with the glory of my Father and the holy angels.'
