1. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കെ അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കല് വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു

1. In those dayes, when there was a very great company, and had nothyng to eate, Iesus called his disciples to him, & saide vnto them:

2. ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു അവരോടു അലിവു തോന്നുന്നു;

2. I haue compassio on the people, because they haue nowe ben with me three dayes, and haue nothyng to eate:

3. ഞാന് അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചാല് അവര് വഴിയില് വെച്ചു തളര്ന്നു പോകും; അവരില് ചിലര് ദൂരത്തുനിന്നുവന്നവരല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And yf I sende them away fastyng to their owne houses, they shall faynt by the way: for diuers of them came fro farre.

4. അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ഇവര്ക്കും ഇവിടെ മരുഭൂമിയില് അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And his disciples aunswered hym: From whence can a man satisfie these men with bread here in the wildernesse?

5. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And he asked the: Howe many loaues haue ye? They sayde, seuen.

6. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ആ ഏഴപ്പം എടുത്തു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു നുറുക്കി, ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കല് വിളമ്പുവാന് കൊടുത്തു; അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തിനു വിളമ്പി.

6. And he commaunded the people to sit downe on the grounde: And he toke the seuen loaues, and when he had geuen thankes, he brake, and gaue to his disciples, to set before them: And they dyd set them before the people.

7. ചെറിയ മീനും കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതും അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു, വിളമ്പുവാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And they hadde a fewe small fysshes: And when he had blessed, he commaunded them also to be set before them.

8. അവര് തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണങ്ങള് ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

8. So they dyd eate, and were suffised: And they toke vp of the broken meate that was left, seuen baskettes full.

9. അവര് ഏകദേശം നാലായിരം പേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

9. And they that had eaten, were about foure thousand: And he sent the away.

10. അവന് അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ച ഉടനെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കൂടെ പടകു കയറി ദല്മനൂഥ അംശങ്ങളില് എത്തി.

10. And anone he entred into a shippe, with his disciples, and came into the parties of Dalmanutha.

11. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് വന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളം അന്വേഷിച്ചു അവനുമായി തര്ക്കിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

11. And the Pharisees came foorth, and began to dispute with hym, sekyng of him a signe from heauen, tempting him.

12. അവന് ആത്മാവില്ഞരങ്ങിഈ തലമുറ അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഈ തലമുറെക്കു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

12. And when he had sighed depely in his spirite, he sayth: Why doth this generatio seke a signe? Ueryly I say vnto you, there shall no signe be geue vnto this generation.

13. അവരെ വിട്ടു പിന്നെയും പടകു കയറി അക്കരെക്കു കടന്നു.

13. And he lefte them, and went into the ship agayne, & departed ouer the water.

14. അവര് അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുപോരുവാന് മറന്നു പോയിരുന്നു; പടകില് അവരുടെ പക്കല് ഒരു അപ്പം മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.

14. And they had forgotten to take bread [with them] neither had they in the ship with them more then one loafe.

15. അവന് അവരോടുനോക്കുവിന് , പരീശരുടെ പുളിച്ചമാവും ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ പുളിച്ചമാവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

15. And he charged the, saying: Take heede, beware of the leuen of the pharisees, and of the leuen of Herode.

16. നമുക്കു അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And they reasoned among them selues, saying: We haue no bread.

17. അതു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ഇപ്പോഴും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

17. And Iesus knewe it, and sayth vnto them: Why reason ye, because ye haue no bread? Perceaue ye not yet, neither vnderstande? Haue ye your heart yet hardened?

18. കണ്ണു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കണുന്നില്ലയോ? ചെവി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഔര്ക്കുംന്നതുമില്ലയോ?

18. Haue ye eyes, and see not? and haue ye eares & heare not? Do ye not remember?

19. അയ്യായിരംപേര്ക്കും ഞാന് അഞ്ചു അപ്പം നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര കൊട്ട നിറച്ചടുത്തു? പന്ത്രണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. When I brake fyue loaues among fyue thousande men, howe many baskettes full of broken meate toke ye vp? They say vnto hym, twelue.

20. നാലായിരം പേര്ക്കും ഏഴു നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു? ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള് ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. When I brake seuen among foure thousande, howe many baskettes of the leauynges of the broken meate toke ye vp? They sayde, seuen.

21. അവര് ബേത്ത് സയിദയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് ഒരു കുരുടനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവനെ തൊടേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

21. And he sayde vnto them: Howe happeneth it, that ye do not vnderstande?

22. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചുനീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. And he came to Bethsaida, & they brought a blynde man vnto hym, and desired hym to touche hym.

23. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു; നീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. And he caught the blinde by the hand, and led him out of the towne: and whe he had spyt in his eyes, & put his handes vpon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

24. അവന് മേല്പോട്ടു നോക്കിഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെ കാണുന്നു; അവര് നടക്കുന്നതു മരങ്ങള് പോലെയത്രേ കാണുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And he loked vp, & saide, I see men: for I perceiue the walke as [they were] trees.

25. പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് കൈ വെച്ചാറെ അവന് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു മിഴിച്ചുനോക്കി എല്ലാം സ്പഷ്ടമായി കണ്ടു.

25. After that, he put his handes agayne vpon his eyes, & made hym see: And he was restored, & saw euery man clearely.

26. നീ ഊരില് കടക്കപോലും അരുതു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.

26. And he sent hym home to his house, saying: neither go into the towne, nor tell it to any in the towne.

27. അനന്തരം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ കൈസര്യകൂ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലേക്കു പോയി; വഴിയില്വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുജനങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

27. And Iesus went out, & his disciples, into the townes that long to Cesarea Philippi: And by the way he asked his disciples, saying vnto them: Whom do men say that I am?

28. യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെന്നു ചിലര്, ഏലീയാവെന്നു ചിലര്, പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് എന്നു അവര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28. And they aunswered: [Some saye that thou art] Iohn Baptist, and some saye, Elias: Agayne, some saye that thou art one of the prophetes.

29. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുനീ ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And he sayde vnto them: But whom say ye that I am? Peter aunswereth, & saith vnto him: Thou art very Christe.

30. പിന്നെ തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ആരോടും പറയരുതെന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഖണ്ഡിതമായി പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And he charged them, that they should tell no man of hym.

31. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് പലതും സഹിക്കയും മൂപ്പന്മാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും വേണം എന്നു അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

31. And he began to teache them, howe that the sonne of man must suffer many thynges, & be reproued of the elders, and of the hie priestes, & scribes, and be killed, and after three dayes, aryse agayne.

32. അവന് ഈ വാക്കു തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് അവനെ വേറിട്ടു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി;

32. And he spake that saying openly: And Peter toke hym asyde, and began to rebuke hym.

33. അവനോ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു പത്രൊസിനെ ശാസിച്ചുസാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടു പോ; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റേതല്ല മനുഷ്യരുടെതത്രേ കരുതുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. But he turned about, and loked on his disciples, and rebuked Peter, saying, go after me Sata: for thou sauerest not the thinges that be of God, but the thinges that be of men.

34. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെയും തന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെയും അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഒരുവന് എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അവന് തന്നെത്താന് ത്യജിച്ചു തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

34. And when he had called the people vnto hym, with his disciples also, he said vnto them: Whosoeuer wyll folow me, let hym forsake hym selfe, and take vp his crosse, and folowe me.

35. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അതിനെ കളയു; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെയും സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെയും നിമിത്തം തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാല് അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

35. For whosoeuer wyll saue his life, shall lose it: But whosoeuer shall lose his life, for my sake & the Gospels, the same shall saue it.

36. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് സര്വ്വലോകവും നേടുകയും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളകയും ചെയ്താല് അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

36. For what shall it profite a man, yf he wynne all the worlde, and lose his owne soule?

37. അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി മനുഷ്യന് എന്തൊരു മറുവില കൊടുക്കും;

37. Or what shall a man geue, for a raunsome of his soule?

38. വ്യഭിചാരവും പാപവും ഉള്ള ഈ തലമുറയില് ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നാണിച്ചാല് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ തേജസ്സില് വിശുദ്ധ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരുമ്പോള് നാണിക്കും;

38. Whosoeuer therfore shalbe ashamed of me, and of my wordes, in this adulterous and synnefull generation: of hym also shall the sonne of man be ashamed, when he commeth in the glorie of his father, with the holy Angels.
