1. പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കാര്യവിചാരകന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക നാനാവിധമാക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലര് അവനെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു.

1. And he went on to say, unto his disciples also, There was, a certain rich man, who had a steward, and, the same, was accused to him as squandering his goods.

2. അവന് അവനെ വിളിച്ചുനിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഈ കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിന്റെ കണകൂ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; നീ ഇനി കാര്യവിചാരകനായിരിപ്പാന് പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And, accosting him, he said unto him What is this I hear of thee? Render the account of thy stewardship, for thou canst no longer be steward.

3. എന്നാറെ കാര്യ വിചാരകന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? യജമാനന് കാര്യവിചാരത്തില് നിന്നു എന്നെ നീക്കുവാന് പോകുന്നു; കിളെപ്പാന് എനിക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; ഇരപ്പാന് ഞാന് നാണിക്കുന്നു.

3. And the steward said within himself What shall I do, because my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? Dig, I cannot: to beg, I am ashamed.

4. എന്നെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിയാല് അവര് എന്നെ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളില് ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. I know what I will do, that, when I am removed out of the stewardship, they may welcome me into their own houses.

5. പിന്നെ അവന് യജമാനന്റെ കടക്കാരില് ഔരോരുത്തനെ വരുത്തി ഒന്നാമത്തവനോടുനീ യജമാനന്നു എത്ര കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

5. And, calling unto him each one of the debtors of his own lord, he was saying unto the first, How much owest thou my lord?

6. നൂറു കുടം എണ്ണ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവനോടുനിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി വേഗം ഇരുന്നു അമ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And, he, said A hundred baths of oil. And, he, said unto him Kindly take thine accounts, and, sitting down, make haste and write Fifty!

7. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടുനീ എത്ര കടം പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു പറ കോതമ്പു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടുനിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി എണ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. After that, unto another, he said And how much owest, thou? And, he, said A hundred homers of wheat. He saith unto him Kindly take thine accounts, and write Eighty!

8. ഈ അനീതിയുള്ള കാര്യവിചാരകന് ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു യജമാനന് അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി; വെളിച്ചമക്കളെക്കാള് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കള് തങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറയില് ബുദ്ധിയേറിയവരല്ലോ.

8. And the lord praised the unrighteous steward, in that with forethought he acted: Because, the sons of this age, have more forethought than the sons of light, respecting their own generation.

9. അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. അതു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുമ്പോള് അവര് നിത്യ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് നിങ്ങളെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്വാന് ഇടയാകും.

9. And, I, unto you, say For yourselves, make ye friends, with the unjust Riches, in order that, as soon as it shall fail, they may welcome you into the age-abiding tents.

10. അത്യല്പത്തില് വിശ്വസ്തനായവന് അധികത്തിലും വിശ്വസ്തന് ; അത്യല്പത്തില് നീതികെട്ടവന് അധികത്തിലും നീതി കെട്ടവന് .

10. The faithful in least, in much also, is, faithful, and, he that in least is unrighteous, in much also, is, unrighteous.

11. നിങ്ങള് അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനില് വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കില് സത്യമായതു നിങ്ങളെ ആര് ഭരമേല്പിക്കും?

11. If therefore, in the unjust Riches ye proved unfaithful, the true, who, unto you, will entrust?

12. അന്യമായതില് വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്വന്തമായതു ആര് തരും?

12. And, if, in what was another's, ye proved unfaithful, your own, who will give unto you?

13. രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് ഒരു ഭൃത്യന്നും കഴികയില്ല; അവന് ഒരുവനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേര്ന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മമ്മോനെയും സേവിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

13. No domestic, can, unto two masters, be in service; for either, the one, he will hate, and, the other, love, or, unto the one, he will hold, and, the other, despise: Ye cannot, unto God, be in service, and unto Riches.

14. ഇതൊക്കെയും ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികളായ പരീശന്മാര് കേട്ടു അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

14. Now the Pharisees, who were, lovers of money, were hearing all these things, and were openly sneering at him.

15. അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീതീകരിക്കുന്നവര് ആകുന്നു; ദൈവമോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം അറിയുന്നു; മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് ഉന്നതമായതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അറെപ്പത്രേ.

15. And he said unto them Ye, are they who justify themselves before men, but, God, knoweth your hearts; because, that which amongst men is lofty, is an abomination before God.

16. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും കാലം യോഹന്നാന് വരെ ആയിരുന്നു; അന്നുമുതല് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സുവിശേഷിച്ചുവരുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും ബലാല്ക്കാരേണ അതില് കടപ്പാന് നോക്കുന്നു.

16. The law and the prophets, were until John, from that time, the good news of the kingdom of God, is being proclaimed, and, everyone, thereinto, is forcing his way.

17. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് ഒരു പുള്ളി വീണുപോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതു എളുപ്പം.

17. But it is, easier, for heaven and earth to pass away, than that, of the law, one little point, should fail.

18. ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭര്ത്താവു ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18. Every one divorcing his wife and marrying another, committeth adultery; and, he that marrieth a woman divorced from a husband, committeth adultery.

19. ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും പട്ടും ധരിച്ചു ദിനന്പ്രതി ആഡംബരത്തോടെ സുഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

19. Now, a certain man, was rich, and he used to clothe himself with purple and fine linen, making merry day by day, brilliantly.

20. ലാസര് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ദരിദ്രന് വ്രണം നിറഞ്ഞവനായി അവന്റെ പടിപ്പുരക്കല് കിടന്നു

20. And, a certain beggar, by name Lazarus, used to be cast near his gate, full of sores,

21. ധനവാന്റെ മേശയില് നിന്നു വീഴുന്നതു തിന്നു വിശപ്പടക്കുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; നായ്ക്കളും വന്നു അവന്റെ വ്രണം നക്കും.

21. and to long to be fed from the crumbs that fell from the table of the rich man: nay! even, the dogs, used to come and lick his sores.

22. ആ ദരിദ്രന് മരിച്ചപ്പോള് ദൂതന്മാര് അവനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മടിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

22. And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried away by the messengers, into the bosom of Abraham. And, the rich man also, died, and was buried.

23. ധനവാനും മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു; പാതാളത്തില് യാതന അനുഭവിക്കുമ്പോള് മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ മടിയില് ലാസരിനെയും കണ്ടു

23. And, in hades, lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24. അബ്രാഹാംപിതാവേ, എന്നോടു കനിവുണ്ടാകേണമേ; ലാസര് വിരലിന്റെ അറ്റം വെള്ളത്തില് മുക്കി എന്റെ നാവിനെ തണുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ അയക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് ഈ ജ്വാലയില് കിടന്നു വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And, he, calling out, said Father Abraham! have mercy upon me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, because I am in anguish in this flame.

25. അബ്രാഹാംമകനേ, നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സില് നീ നന്മയും ലാസര് അവ്വണ്ണം തിന്മയും പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഔര്ക്ക; ഇപ്പോള് അവന് ഇവിടെ ആശ്വസിക്കുന്നുനീയോ വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.

25. But Abraham said Child! remember That thou didst duly received thy good things in thy life, and, Lazarus, in like manner, the evil things; but, now, here, he is comforted, and, thou, art in anguish.

26. അത്രയുമല്ല ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിങ്ങള്ക്കും നടുവെ വലിയോരു പിളര്പ്പുണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കടന്നുവരുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും കഴിവില്ല; അവിടെ നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കടന്നു വരുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും കഴിവില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് കടന്നു വരുവാനും പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And, besides all these things, betwixt us and you, a great chasm, hath been fixed, so that, they who might wish to cross over from hence unto you, should not be able, nor any, from thence unto us, be crossing over.

27. അതിന്നു അവന് എന്നാല് പിതാവേ, അവനെ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടില് അയക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു;

27. But he said I request thee then, father, that thou wouldst send him unto my father's house,

28. എനിക്കു അഞ്ചു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടു; അവരും ഈ യാതനാസ്ഥലത്തു വരാതിരിപ്പാന് അവന് അവരോടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. for I have five brethren; that he may solemnly testify unto them, lest, they also, come into this place of torment.

29. അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടുഅവര്ക്കും മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവരുടെ വാക്കു അവര് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. But Abraham saith They have Moses and the Prophets: Let them hearken unto them.

30. അതിന്നു അവന് അല്ലല്ല, അബ്രാഹാം പിതാവേ, മരിച്ചവരില്നിന്നു ഒരുത്തന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു എങ്കില് അവര് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. But, he, said Nay! father Abraham, but, if one, from the dead, should go unto them, they would repent.

31. അവന് അവനോടുഅവര് മോശെയുടെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വാക്കു കേള്ക്കാഞ്ഞാല് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഒരുത്തന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ചെന്നാലും വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. But he said unto him If, unto Moses and the Prophets, they do not hearken, neither, if one, from among the dead, should arise, would they be persuaded.
