1. അവന് യെരീഹോവില് എത്തി കടന്നു പോകുമ്പോള്

1. Jesus was going through the city of Jericho.

2. ചുങ്കക്കാരില് പ്രമാണിയും ധനവാനുമായ സക്കായി എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ,

2. A man was there named Zacchaeus, who was a very important tax collector, and he was wealthy.

3. യേശു എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് എന്നു കാണ്മാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു, വളര്ച്ചയില് കുറിയവന് ആകകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരംനിമിത്തം കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

3. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but he was not able because he was too short to see above the crowd.

4. എന്നാറെ അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു ഔടി, അവനെ കാണേണ്ടിതിന്നു ഒരു കാട്ടത്തിമേല് കയറി. യേശു ആ വഴിയായി വരികയായിരുന്നു.

4. He ran ahead to a place where Jesus would come, and he climbed a sycamore tree so he could see him.

5. അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് മേലോട്ടു നോക്കിസക്കായിയേ, വേഗം ഇറങ്ങിവാ; ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him, 'Zacchaeus, hurry and come down! I must stay at your house today.'

6. അവന് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഇറങ്ങി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

6. Zacchaeus came down quickly and welcomed him gladly.

7. കണ്ടവര് എല്ലാംഅവന് പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിറുപിറുത്തു.

7. All the people saw this and began to complain, 'Jesus is staying with a sinner!'

8. സക്കായിയോ നിന്നു കര്ത്താവിനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ വസ്തുവകയില് പാതി ഞാന് ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്നുണ്ടു; വല്ലതും ചതിവായി വാങ്ങീട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് നാലുമടങ്ങു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, 'I will give half of my possessions to the poor. And if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times more.'

9. യേശു അവനോടുഇവനും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകന് ആകയാല് ഇന്നു ഈ വീട്ടിന്നു രക്ഷ വന്നു.

9. Jesus said to him, 'Salvation has come to this house today, because this man also belongs to the family of Abraham.

10. കാണാതെ പോയതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു രക്ഷിപ്പാനല്ലോ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them.'

11. അവര് ഇതു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് യെരൂശലേമിന്നു സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും ദൈവരാജ്യം ക്ഷണത്തില് വെളിപ്പെടും എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നുകയാലും അവന് ഒരു ഉപമയുംകൂടെ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്

11. As the people were listening to this, Jesus told them a story because he was near Jerusalem and they thought God's kingdom would appear immediately.

12. കുലീനനായോരു മനുഷ്യന് രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവരേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ദൂരദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രപോയി.

12. He said: 'A very important man went to a country far away to be made a king and then to return home.

13. അവന് പത്തു ദാസന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവര്ക്കും പത്തു റാത്തല് വെള്ളി കൊടുത്തു ഞാന് വരുവോളം വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. So he called ten of his servants and gave a coinn to each servant. He said, 'Do business with this money until I get back.'

14. അവന്റെ പൌരന്മാരോ അവനെ പകെച്ചു അവന്റെ പിന്നൊലെ പ്രതിനിധികളെ അയച്ചുഅവന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു സമ്മതമല്ല എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

14. But the people in the kingdom hated the man. So they sent a group to follow him and say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

15. അവന് രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോള് താന് ദ്രവ്യം കൊടുത്തിരുന്ന ദാസന്മാര് വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തു എന്തു നേടി എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ വിളിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

15. But the man became king. When he returned home, he said, 'Call those servants who have my money so I can know how much they earned with it.'

16. ഒന്നാമത്തവന് അടുത്തു വന്നു; കര്ത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തല്കൊണ്ടു പത്തുറാത്തല് സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

16. The first servant came and said, 'Sir, I earned ten coins with the one you gave me.'

17. അവന് അവനോടുനന്നു നല്ല ദാസനേ, നീ അത്യല്പത്തില് വിശ്വസ്തന് ആയതുകൊണ്ടു പത്തു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു അധികാരമുള്ളവന് ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

17. The king said to the servant, 'Excellent! You are a good servant. Since I can trust you with small things, I will let you rule over ten of my cities.'

18. രണ്ടാമത്തവന് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തല്കൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചു റാത്തല് സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. The second servant said, 'Sir, I earned five coins with your one.'

19. നീയും അഞ്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു മേല്വിചാരകന് ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു അവന് അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

19. The king said to this servant, 'You can rule over five cities.'

20. മറ്റൊരുവന് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, ഇതാ നിന്റെ റാത്തല്; ഞാന് അതു ഒരു ഉറുമാലില് കെട്ടി വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

20. Then another servant came in and said to the king, 'Sir, here is your coin which I wrapped in a piece of cloth and hid.

21. നീ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കുകയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യന് ആകകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You even take money that you didn't earn and gather food that you didn't plant.'

22. അവന് അവനോടുദുഷ്ട ദാസനേ, നിന്റെ വായില് നിന്നു തന്നേ ഞാന് നിന്നെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും. ഞാന് വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യന് എന്നു നീ അറിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

22. Then the king said to the servant, 'I will condemn you by your own words, you evil servant. You knew that I am a hard man, taking money that I didn't earn and gathering food that I didn't plant.

23. ഞാന് വന്നു എന്റെ ദ്രവ്യം പലിശയോടുകൂടെ വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നാണ്യപീഠത്തില് ഏല്പിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

23. Why then didn't you put my money in the bank? Then when I came back, my money would have earned some interest.'

24. പിന്നെ അവന് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നവരോടുആ റാത്തല് അവന്റെ പക്കല് നിന്നു എടുത്തു പത്തു റാത്തലുള്ളവന്നു കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. The king said to the men who were standing by, 'Take the coin away from this servant and give it to the servant who earned ten coins.'

25. കര്ത്താവേ, അവന്നു പത്തു റാത്തല് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. They said, 'But sir, that servant already has ten coins.'

26. ഉള്ളവന്നു ഏവന്നു കൊടുക്കും ഇല്ലാത്തവനോടു ഉള്ളതുംകൂടെ എടുത്തു കളയും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

26. The king said, 'Those who have will be given more, but those who do not have anything will have everything taken away from them.

27. എന്നാല് ഞാന് തങ്ങള്ക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു സമ്മതമില്ലാത്ത ശത്രുക്കളായവരെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്റെ മുമ്പില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളവിന് എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു.

27. Now where are my enemies who didn't want me to be king? Bring them here and kill them before me.''

28. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് മുമ്പായി നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

28. After Jesus said this, he went on toward Jerusalem.

29. അവന് ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗെക്കും ബേഥാന്യെക്കും സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു

29. As Jesus came near Bethphage and Bethany, towns near the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent out two of his followers.

30. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തില് ചെല്ലുവിന് ; അതില് കടക്കുമ്പോള് ആരും ഒരിക്കലും കയറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ കെട്ടീയിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും; അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് .

30. He said, 'Go to the town you can see there. When you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here to me.

31. അതിനെ അഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചാല്കര്ത്താവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. If anyone asks you why you are untying it, say that the Master needs it.'

32. അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് പോയി തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ കണ്ടു.

32. The two followers went into town and found the colt just as Jesus had told them.

33. കഴുതകുട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കുമ്പോള് അതിന്റെ ഉടയവര്കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

33. As they were untying it, its owners came out and asked the followers, 'Why are you untying our colt?'

34. കര്ത്താവിനു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

34. The followers answered, 'The Master needs it.'

35. അതിനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുതകൂട്ടിമേല് ഇട്ടു യേശുവിനെ കയറ്റി.

35. So they brought it to Jesus, threw their coats on the colt's back, and put Jesus on it.

36. അവന് പോകുമ്പോള് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയില് വിരിച്ചു.

36. As Jesus rode toward Jerusalem, others spread their coats on the road before him.

37. അവന് ഒലീവുമലയുടെ ഇറക്കത്തിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം തങ്ങള് കണ്ട സകല വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അത്യുച്ചത്തില് ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി

37. As he was coming close to Jerusalem, on the way down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of followers began joyfully shouting praise to God for all the miracles they had seen.

38. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് വരുന്ന രാജാവു വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് സമാധാനവും അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളില് മഹത്വവും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. They said, 'God bless the king who comes in the name of the Lord! There is peace in heaven and glory to God.'

39. പുരുഷാരത്തില് ചില പരീശന്മാരോ അവനോടുഗുരോ, നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെ വിലക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, tell your followers not to say these things.'

40. അതിന്നു അവന് ഇവര് മണ്ടാതിരുന്നാല് കല്ലുകള് ആര്ത്തുവിളിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

40. But Jesus answered, 'I tell you, if my followers didn't say these things, then the stones would cry out.'

41. അവന് നഗരത്തിന്നു സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് അതിനെ കണ്ടു അതിനെക്കുറിചു കരഞ്ഞു

41. As Jesus came near Jerusalem, he saw the city and cried for it,

42. ഈ നാളില് നിന്റെ സമാധാനത്തിന്നുള്ളതു നീയും അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴോ അതു നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

42. saying, 'I wish you knew today what would bring you peace. But now it is hidden from you.

43. The time is coming when your enemies will build a wall around you and will hold you in on all sides.

44. നിന്നെയും നിന്നിലുള്ള നിന്റെ മക്കളെയും നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു, നിങ്കല് കല്ലിന്മേല് കല്ലു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്ന കാലം നിനക്കു വരും.

44. They will destroy you and all your people, and not one stone will be left on another. All this will happen because you did not recognize the time when God came to save you.'

45. Jesus went into the Temple and began to throw out the people who were selling things there.

46. He said, 'It is written in the Scriptures, 'My Temple will be a house for prayer.' But you have changed it into a 'hideout for robbers'!'

47. Jesus taught in the Temple every day. The leading priests, the experts on the law, and some of the leaders of the people wanted to kill Jesus.

48. എങ്കിലും ജനം എല്ലാം അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു രഞ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

48. But they did not know how they could do it, because all the people were listening closely to him.
