1. അവന് യെരീഹോവില് എത്തി കടന്നു പോകുമ്പോള്

1. And he entered and passed through Jericho.

2. ചുങ്കക്കാരില് പ്രമാണിയും ധനവാനുമായ സക്കായി എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ,

2. And behold, [there was] a man by name called Zacchaeus, and he was chief tax-gatherer, and he was rich.

3. യേശു എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് എന്നു കാണ്മാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു, വളര്ച്ചയില് കുറിയവന് ആകകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരംനിമിത്തം കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

3. And he sought to see Jesus who he was: and he could not for the crowd, because he was little in stature.

4. എന്നാറെ അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു ഔടി, അവനെ കാണേണ്ടിതിന്നു ഒരു കാട്ടത്തിമേല് കയറി. യേശു ആ വഴിയായി വരികയായിരുന്നു.

4. And running on before, he got up into a sycamore that he might see him, for he was going to pass that [way].

5. അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് മേലോട്ടു നോക്കിസക്കായിയേ, വേഗം ഇറങ്ങിവാ; ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And when he came up to the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and said to him, Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for to-day I must remain in thy house.

6. അവന് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഇറങ്ങി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

6. And he made haste and came down, and received him with joy.

7. കണ്ടവര് എല്ലാംഅവന് പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിറുപിറുത്തു.

7. And all murmured when they saw [it], saying, He has turned in to lodge with a sinful man.

8. സക്കായിയോ നിന്നു കര്ത്താവിനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ വസ്തുവകയില് പാതി ഞാന് ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്നുണ്ടു; വല്ലതും ചതിവായി വാങ്ങീട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് നാലുമടങ്ങു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I return [him] fourfold.

9. യേശു അവനോടുഇവനും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകന് ആകയാല് ഇന്നു ഈ വീട്ടിന്നു രക്ഷ വന്നു.

9. And Jesus said to him, To-day salvation is come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham;

10. കാണാതെ പോയതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു രക്ഷിപ്പാനല്ലോ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
യേഹേസ്കേൽ 34:16

10. for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.

11. അവര് ഇതു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് യെരൂശലേമിന്നു സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും ദൈവരാജ്യം ക്ഷണത്തില് വെളിപ്പെടും എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നുകയാലും അവന് ഒരു ഉപമയുംകൂടെ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്

11. But as they were listening to these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was about to be immediately manifested.

12. കുലീനനായോരു മനുഷ്യന് രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവരേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ദൂരദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രപോയി.

12. He said therefore, A certain high-born man went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and return.

13. അവന് പത്തു ദാസന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവര്ക്കും പത്തു റാത്തല് വെള്ളി കൊടുത്തു ഞാന് വരുവോളം വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. And having called his own ten bondmen, he gave to them ten minas, and said to them, Trade while I am coming.

14. അവന്റെ പൌരന്മാരോ അവനെ പകെച്ചു അവന്റെ പിന്നൊലെ പ്രതിനിധികളെ അയച്ചുഅവന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു സമ്മതമല്ല എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

14. But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this [man] should reign over us.

15. അവന് രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോള് താന് ദ്രവ്യം കൊടുത്തിരുന്ന ദാസന്മാര് വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തു എന്തു നേടി എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ വിളിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

15. And it came to pass on his arrival back again, having received the kingdom, that he desired these bondmen to whom he gave the money to be called to him, in order that he might know what every one had gained by trading.

16. ഒന്നാമത്തവന് അടുത്തു വന്നു; കര്ത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തല്കൊണ്ടു പത്തുറാത്തല് സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

16. And the first came up, saying, [My] Lord, thy mina has produced ten minas.

17. അവന് അവനോടുനന്നു നല്ല ദാസനേ, നീ അത്യല്പത്തില് വിശ്വസ്തന് ആയതുകൊണ്ടു പത്തു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു അധികാരമുള്ളവന് ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

17. And he said to him, Well [done], thou good bondman; because thou hast been faithful in that which is least, be thou in authority over ten cities.

18. രണ്ടാമത്തവന് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തല്കൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചു റാത്തല് സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And the second came, saying, [My] Lord, thy mina has made five minas.

19. നീയും അഞ്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു മേല്വിചാരകന് ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു അവന് അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

19. And he said also to this one, And *thou*, be over five cities.

20. മറ്റൊരുവന് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, ഇതാ നിന്റെ റാത്തല്; ഞാന് അതു ഒരു ഉറുമാലില് കെട്ടി വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

20. And another came, saying, [My] Lord, lo, [there is] thy mina, which I have kept laid up in a towel.

21. നീ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കുകയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യന് ആകകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. For I feared thee because thou art a harsh man: thou takest up what thou hast not laid down, and thou reapest what thou hast not sowed.

22. അവന് അവനോടുദുഷ്ട ദാസനേ, നിന്റെ വായില് നിന്നു തന്നേ ഞാന് നിന്നെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും. ഞാന് വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യന് എന്നു നീ അറിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

22. He says to him, Out of thy mouth will I judge thee, wicked bondman: thou knewest that *I* am a harsh man, taking up what I have not laid down and reaping what I have not sowed.

23. ഞാന് വന്നു എന്റെ ദ്രവ്യം പലിശയോടുകൂടെ വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നാണ്യപീഠത്തില് ഏല്പിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

23. And why didst thou not give my money to [the] bank; and *I* should have received it, at my coming, with interest?

24. പിന്നെ അവന് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നവരോടുആ റാത്തല് അവന്റെ പക്കല് നിന്നു എടുത്തു പത്തു റാത്തലുള്ളവന്നു കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And he said to those that stood by, Take from him the mina and give [it] to him who has the ten minas.

25. കര്ത്താവേ, അവന്നു പത്തു റാത്തല് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas.

26. ഉള്ളവന്നു ഏവന്നു കൊടുക്കും ഇല്ലാത്തവനോടു ഉള്ളതുംകൂടെ എടുത്തു കളയും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

26. For I say unto you, that to every one that has shall be given; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.

27. എന്നാല് ഞാന് തങ്ങള്ക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു സമ്മതമില്ലാത്ത ശത്രുക്കളായവരെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്റെ മുമ്പില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളവിന് എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു.

27. Moreover those mine enemies, who would not [have] me to reign over them, bring them here and slay [them] before me.

28. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് മുമ്പായി നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

28. And having said these things, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.

29. അവന് ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗെക്കും ബേഥാന്യെക്കും സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു

29. And it came to pass as he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany at the mountain called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

30. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തില് ചെല്ലുവിന് ; അതില് കടക്കുമ്പോള് ആരും ഒരിക്കലും കയറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ കെട്ടീയിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും; അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് .

30. saying, Go into the village over against [you], in which ye will find, on entering it, a colt tied up, on which no [child] of man ever sat at any time: loose it and lead it [here].

31. അതിനെ അഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചാല്കര്ത്താവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose [it]? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord has need of it.

32. അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് പോയി തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ കണ്ടു.

32. And they that were sent, having gone their way, found as he had said to them.

33. കഴുതകുട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കുമ്പോള് അതിന്റെ ഉടയവര്കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

33. And as they were loosing the colt, its masters said to them, Why loose ye the colt?

34. കര്ത്താവിനു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And they said, Because the Lord has need of it.

35. അതിനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുതകൂട്ടിമേല് ഇട്ടു യേശുവിനെ കയറ്റി.

35. And they led it to Jesus; and having cast their own garments on the colt, they put Jesus on [it].

36. അവന് പോകുമ്പോള് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയില് വിരിച്ചു.
2 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 9:13

36. And as he went, they strewed their clothes in the way.

37. അവന് ഒലീവുമലയുടെ ഇറക്കത്തിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം തങ്ങള് കണ്ട സകല വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അത്യുച്ചത്തില് ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി

37. And as he drew near, already at the descent of the mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began, rejoicing, to praise God with a loud voice for all the works of power which they had seen,

38. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് വരുന്ന രാജാവു വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് സമാധാനവും അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളില് മഹത്വവും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 118:25-26

38. saying, Blessed the King that comes in the name of [the] Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39. പുരുഷാരത്തില് ചില പരീശന്മാരോ അവനോടുഗുരോ, നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെ വിലക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.

40. അതിന്നു അവന് ഇവര് മണ്ടാതിരുന്നാല് കല്ലുകള് ആര്ത്തുവിളിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

40. And he answering said to them, I say unto you, If these shall be silent, the stones will cry out.

41. അവന് നഗരത്തിന്നു സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് അതിനെ കണ്ടു അതിനെക്കുറിചു കരഞ്ഞു

41. And as he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it,

42. ഈ നാളില് നിന്റെ സമാധാനത്തിന്നുള്ളതു നീയും അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴോ അതു നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

42. saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, even at least in this thy day, the things that are for thy peace: but now they are hid from thine eyes;

43. നിന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനകാലം നീ അറിയാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് നിനക്കു ചുറ്റും വാടകോരി നിന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു നാലുപുറത്തും ഞെരുക്കി

43. for days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall make a palisaded mound about thee, and shall close thee around, and keep thee in on every side,

44. നിന്നെയും നിന്നിലുള്ള നിന്റെ മക്കളെയും നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു, നിങ്കല് കല്ലിന്മേല് കല്ലു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്ന കാലം നിനക്കു വരും.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 137:9

44. and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children in thee; and shall not leave in thee a stone upon a stone: because thou knewest not the season of thy visitation.

45. പിന്നെ അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു വില്ക്കുന്നവരെ പുറത്താക്കിത്തുടങ്ങി

45. And entering into the temple, he began to cast out those that sold and bought in it,

46. എന്റെ ആലയം പ്രാര്ത്ഥനാലയം ആകും എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോ അതിനെ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ ഗുഹ ആക്കിത്തിര്ത്തു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

46. saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but *ye* have made it a den of robbers.

47. അവന് ദിവസേന ദൈവാലയത്തില് ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു; എന്നാല് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും ജനത്തില് പ്രധാനികളായവരും അവനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കം നോക്കി.

47. And he was teaching day by day in the temple: and the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

48. എങ്കിലും ജനം എല്ലാം അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു രഞ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

48. and did not find what they could do, for all the people hung on him to hear.
