1. ജനം കേള്ക്കെ തന്റെ വചനം ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞുതീര്ന്ന ശേഷം അവന് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് ചെന്നു.

1. When hee had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entred into Capernaum.

2. അവിടെ ഒരു ശതാധിപന്നു പ്രിയനായ ദാസന് ദീനം പിടിച്ചു മരിപ്പാറായിരുന്നു.

2. And a certaine Ceturions seruant was sicke and readie to die, which was deare vnto him.

3. അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ വസ്തുത കേട്ടിട്ടു, അവന് വന്നു തന്റെ ദാസനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടിതിന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിപ്പാന് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

3. And when he heard of Iesus, hee sent vnto him the Elders of the Iewes, beseeching him that he would come, and heale his seruant.

4. അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടു താല്പര്യമായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചുനീ അതു ചെയ്തുകൊടുപ്പാന് അവന് യോഗ്യന് ;

4. So they came to Iesus, and besought him instantly, saying that hee was worthy that hee should doe this for him:

5. അവന് നമ്മുടെ ജനത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു പള്ളിയും തീര്പ്പിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. For he loueth, said they, our nation, and he hath built vs a Synagogue.

6. യേശു അവരോടുകൂടെ പോയി, വീട്ടിനോടു അടുപ്പാറായപ്പോള് ശതാധിപന് സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുകര്ത്താവേ, പ്രയാസപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നി എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാന് ഞാന് പോരാത്തവന് .

6. Then Iesus went with them: but when he was now not farre from the house, the Centurion sent friendes to him, saying vnto him, Lord, trouble not thy selfe: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter vnder my roofe:

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യന് എന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നിട്ടില്ല. ഒരു വാക്കു കല്പിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യംവരും.

7. Wherefore I thought not my selfe worthy to come vnto thee: but say the word, and my seruant shalbe whole:

8. ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന്നു കീഴ്പെട്ട മനുഷ്യന് ; എന്റെ കീഴില് പടയാളികള് ഉണ്ടു; ഒരുവനോടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുവനോടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടുഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

8. For I likewise am a man set vnder authoritie, and haue vnder mee souldiers, and I say vnto one, Goe, and he goeth: and to another, Come, and hee commeth: and to my seruant, Doe this, and he doeth it.

9. യേശു അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവങ്കല് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, അനുഗമിക്കുന്നക്കുട്ടത്തോടുയിസ്രായേലില്കൂടെ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വിശ്വാസം ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;

9. When Iesus heard these things, he marueiled at him, and turned him, and said to the people, that followed him, I say vnto you, I haue not found so great faith, no not in Israel.

10. ശതാധിപന് പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരുന്നവര് വീട്ടില് മടങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോള് ദാസനെ സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ കണ്ടു.

10. And when they that were sent, turned backe to the house, they founde the seruant that was sicke, whole.

11. പിറ്റെന്നാള് അവന് നയിന് എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും വളരെ പുരുഷാരവും കൂടെ പോയി.

11. And it came to passe the day after, that he went into a citie called Nain, and many of his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

12. അവന് പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ വാതിലോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് മരിച്ചുപോയ ഒരുത്തനെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; അവന് അമ്മകൂ ഏകജാതനായ മകന് ; അവളോ വിധവ ആയിരുന്നു. പട്ടണത്തിലെ ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരവും അവളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

12. Nowe when hee came neere to the gate of the citie, behold, there was a dead man caried out, who was the onely begotten sonne of his mother, which was a widowe, and much people of the citie was with her.

13. അവളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു കര്ത്താവു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അവളോടുകരയേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു മഞ്ചം തൊട്ടു ചുമക്കുന്നവര് നിന്നു.

13. And when the Lord sawe her, he had compassion on her, and said vnto her, Weepe not.

14. ബാല്യക്കാരാ എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

14. And he went and touched the coffin (and they that bare him, stoode still) and he said, Yong man, I say vnto thee, Arise.

15. മരിച്ചവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇരുന്നു സംസാരിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി; അവന് അവനെ അമ്മെക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

15. And he that was dead, sate vp, and began to speake, and he deliuered him to his mother.

16. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഭയംപിടിച്ചുഒരു വലിയ പ്രവാചകന് നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് എഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം തന്റെ ജനത്തെ സന്ദര്ശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിച്ചു.

16. Then there came a feare on them all, and they glorified God, saying, A great Prophet is risen among vs, and God hath visited his people.

17. അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ ശ്രുതി യെഹൂദ്യയില് ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു.

17. And this rumour of him went foorth throughout all Iudea, and throughout all the region round about.

18. ഇതു ഒക്കെയും യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

18. And the disciples of Iohn shewed him of all these things.

19. എന്നാറെ യോഹന്നാന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരെ വിളിച്ചു, കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുവരുവാനുള്ളവന് നീയോ? അല്ല, ഞങ്ങള് മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണമോ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

19. So Iohn called vnto him two certaine men of his disciples, and sent them to Iesus, saying, Art thou hee that should come, or shall we waite for another?

20. ആ പുരുഷന്മാര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുവരുവാനുള്ളവന് നീയോ? അല്ല, ഞങ്ങള് മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിപ്പാന് യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന് ഞങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And when the men were come vnto him, they said, Iohn Baptist hath sent vs vnto thee, saying, Art thou hee that should come, or shall we waite for another?

21. ആ നാഴികയില് അവന് വ്യാധികളും ദണ്ഡങ്ങളും ദുരാത്മാക്കളും പിടിച്ച പലരെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും പല കുരുടന്മാര്ക്കും കാഴ്ച നലകുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവരോടു

21. And at that time, he cured many of their sickenesses, and plagues, and of euill spirites, and vnto many blinde men he gaue sight freely.

22. കുരുടര് കാണുന്നു; മുടന്തര് നടക്കുന്നു; കുഷ്ഠരോഗികള് ശുദ്ധരായിത്തീരുന്നു; ചെകിടര് കേള്ക്കുന്നു; മരിച്ചവര് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു; ദിരദ്രന്മാരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് കാണുകയും കേള്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു യോഹന്നാനെ ചെന്നു അറിയിപ്പിന് .

22. And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Goe your wayes and shewe Iohn, what things ye haue seene and heard: that the blinde see, the halt goe, the lepers are cleansed, the deafe heare, the dead are raised, and the poore receiue the Gospel.

23. എന്നാല് എങ്കല് ഇടറിപ്പോകാത്തവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And blessed is hee, that shall not be offended in me.

24. യോഹന്നാന്റെ ദൂതന്മാര് പോയശേഷം അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയതുനിങ്ങള് എന്തു കാണ്മാന് മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോയി? കാറ്റിനാല് ഉലയുന്ന ഔടയോ?

24. And when the messengers of Iohn were departed, hee began to speake vnto the people, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?

25. അല്ല, എന്തു കാണ്മാന് പോയി? മാര്ദ്ദവവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച മനുഷ്യനെയോ? മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു സുഖഭോഗികളായി നടക്കുന്നവര് രാജധാനികളില് അത്രേ.

25. But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft rayment? beholde, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and liue delicately, are in Kings courtes.

26. അല്ല, എന്തു കാണ്മാന് പോയി? ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെയൊ? അതേ, പ്രവാചകനിലും മികച്ചവനെ തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

26. But what went ye foorth to see? A Prophet? yea, I say to you, and greater then a Prophet.

27. “ഞാന് എന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി അയയക്കുന്നു; അവന് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിനക്കു വഴി ഒരുക്കും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചാകുന്നു.

27. This is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I sende my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

28. സ്ത്രീകളില് നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരില് യോഹന്നാനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് ആരുമില്ല; ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവനോ അവനിലും വലിയവന് എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.--

28. For I say vnto you, there is no greater Prophet then Iohn, among them that are begotten of women: neuerthelesse, hee that is the least in the kingdome of God, is greater then he.

29. എന്നാല് ജനം ഒക്കെയും ചുങ്കക്കാരും കേട്ടിട്ടു യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റതിനാല് ദൈവത്തെ നീതീകരിച്ചു.

29. Then all the people that heard, and the Publicanes iustified God, being baptized with the baptisme of Iohn.

30. എങ്കിലും പരീശന്മാരും ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനാല് സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന തങ്ങള്ക്കു വൃഥാവാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. -

30. But the Pharises and the expounders of the Law despised the counsell of God against themselues, and were not baptized of him.

31. ഈ തലമുറയിലെ മനുഷ്യരെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? അവര് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യം?

31. And the Lord saide, Whereunto shall I liken the men of this generation? and what thing are they like vnto?

32. ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കായി കുഴലൂതി, നിങ്ങള് നൃത്തം ചെയ്തില്ല; ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കായി വിലാപം പാടി, നിങ്ങള് കരഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു ചന്തസ്ഥലത്തു ഇരുന്നു അന്യോന്യം വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്ന കുട്ടികളോടു അവര് തുല്യര്.

32. They are like vnto litle children sitting in the market place, and crying one to another, and saying, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced: we haue mourned to you, and ye haue not wept.

33. യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന് അപ്പം തിന്നാതെയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കാതെയും വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഭൂതം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു.

33. For Iohn Baptist came, neither eating bread, nor drinking wine: and ye say, He hath the deuil.

34. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; തിന്നിയും കുടിയനും ആയ മനുഷ്യന് ചുങ്കക്കാരുടെയും പാപികളുടെയും സ്നേഹിതന് എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു.

34. The Sonne of man is come, and eateth and drinketh: and ye say, Beholde, a man which is a glutton, and a drinker of wine, a friend of Publicanes and sinners:

35. ജ്ഞാനമോ തന്റെ എല്ലാ മക്കളാലും നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

35. But wisdome is iustified of all her children.

36. പരീശന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാന് അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു; അവന് പരീശന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരുന്നു.

36. And one of the Pharises desired him that hee would eate with him: and hee went into the Pharises house, and sate downe at table.

37. ആ പട്ടണത്തില് പാപിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ, അവന് പരീശന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു അറിഞ്ഞു ഒരു വെണ്കല്ഭരണി പരിമളതൈലം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു,

37. And beholde, a woman in the citie, which was a sinner, when she knewe that Iesus sate at table in the Pharises house, shee brought a boxe of oyntment.

38. പുറകില് അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നിന്നു കണ്ണിനീര്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാല് നനെച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; തലമുടികൊണ്ടു തുടെച്ചു കാല് ചുംബിച്ചു തൈലം പൂശി.

38. And shee stoode at his feete behinde him weeping, and began to wash his feete with teares, and did wipe them with the heares of her head, and kissed his feete, and anoynted them with the oyntment.

39. അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ച പരീശന് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഇവന് പ്രവാചകന് ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില്, തന്നെ തൊടുന്ന സ്ത്രീ ആരെന്നും എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവള് എന്നും അറിയുമായിരുന്നു; അവള് പാപിയല്ലോ എന്നു ഉള്ളില് പറഞ്ഞു

39. Nowe when the Pharise which bade him, saw it, he spake within himselfe, saying, If this man were a Prophet, hee woulde surely haue knowen who, and what maner of woman this is which toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40. ശിമോനേ, നിന്നോടു ഒന്നു പറവാനുണ്ടു എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഗുരോ, പറഞ്ഞാലും എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

40. And Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Simon, I haue somewhat to say vnto thee. And he said, Master, say on.

41. കടം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരുത്തന്നു രണ്ടു കടക്കാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഒരുത്തന് അഞ്ഞൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശും മറ്റവന് അമ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശും കൊടുപ്പാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

41. There was a certaine lender which had two detters: the one ought fiue hundreth pence, and the other fiftie:

42. വീട്ടുവാന് അവര്ക്കും വക ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് അവന് ഇരുവര്ക്കും ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; എന്നാല് അവരില് ആര് അവനെ അധികം സ്നേഹിക്കും?

42. When they had nothing to pay, he forgaue them both: Which of them therefore, tell mee, will loue him most?

43. അധികം ഇളെചചുകിട്ടിയവന് എന്നു ഞാന് ഊഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ശിമോന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവനോടുനീ വിധിച്ചതു ശരി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രിയുടെ നേരെ തരിഞ്ഞു ശിമോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഈ സ്ത്രീയെ കാണുന്നുവോ? ഞാന് നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നു, നീ എന്റെ കാലിന്നു വെള്ളം തന്നില്ല; ഇവളോ കണ്ണുനീര്കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കാല് നനെച്ചു തലമുടികൊണ്ടു തുടെച്ചു.

43. Simon answered, and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgaue most. And he said vnto him, Thou hast truely iudged.

44. നീ എനിക്കു ചുംബനം തന്നില്ല; ഇവളോ ഞാന് അകത്തു വന്നതു മുതല് ഇടവിടാതെ എന്റെ കാല് ചുംബിച്ചു.

44. Then he turned to the woman, and said vnto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entred into thine house, and thou gauest mee no water to my feete: but she hath washed my feete with teares, and wiped them with the heares of her head.

45. നീ എന്റെ തലയില് തൈലം പൂശിയില്ല; ഇവളോ പരിമള തൈലംകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കാല് പൂശി.

45. Thou gauest me no kisse: but she, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kisse my feete.

46. ആകയാല് ഇവളുടെ അനേകമായ പാപങ്ങള് മോചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു; അവള് വളരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുവല്ലോ; അല്പം മോചിച്ചുകിട്ടിയവന് അല്പം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 23:5

46. Mine head with oyle thou didest not anoint: but she hath anoynted my feete with oyntment.

47. പിന്നെ അവന് അവളോടുനിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള് മോചിച്ചു തിന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Wherefore I say vnto thee, many sinnes are forgiuen her: for she loued much. To whom a litle is forgiuen, he doeth loue a litle.

48. അവനോടു കൂടെ പന്തിയില് ഇരുന്നവര്പാപമോചനവും കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഇവന് ആര് എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

48. And he saide vnto her, Thy sinnes are forgiuen thee.

49. അവനോ സ്ത്രീയോടുനിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. And they that sate at table with him, began to say within themselues, Who is this that euen forgiueth sinnes?
