1. അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലെ സഭയില് ബര്ന്നബാസ്, നീഗര് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോന് , കുറേനക്കാരനായ ലൂക്യൊസ്, ഇട പ്രഭുവമായ ഹെരോദാവോടുകൂടെ വളര്ന്ന മനായേന് , ശൌല് എന്നീ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. Now there were some men from the congregation that was in Antioch, prophets and teachers, including Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen reared with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2. അവര് കര്ത്താവിനെ ആരാധിച്ചും ഉപവസിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്ഞാന് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശെഘിനെയും വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വേലെക്കായിട്ടു അവരെ എനിക്കു വേര്തിരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And while they were serving the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate to me now Barnabas and Saul for the work that I have called them.

3. Then, having fasted and prayed and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

4. Indeed therefore these men, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed for Cyprus.

5. And after becoming in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they also had John for a helper.

6. അവര് ദ്വീപില്കൂടി പാഫൊസ്വരെ ചെന്നപ്പോള് ബര്യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യെഹൂദനായി കള്ള പ്രവാചകനായോരു വിദ്വാനെ കണ്ടു.

6. And after going through the island as far as Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a Jewish false prophet, whose name was Bar-jesus,

7. അവന് ബുദ്ധിമാനായ സെര്ഗ്ഗ്യൊസ് പൌലൊസ് എന്ന ദേശാധിപതിയോടു കൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശൌലിനെയും വരുത്തി ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

7. who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man, having summoned Barnabas and Saul, sought to hear the word of God.

8. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) opposed them, seeking to deviate the proconsul from the faith.

9. But Saul (the man is also Paul) having been filled with Holy Spirit, and having gazed on him,

10. said, O man full of all deceit and all recklessness, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, will thou not cease distorting the straight ways of Lord?

11. And now, behold, a hand of Lord is upon thee, and thou will be blind, not seeing the sun until a time. And immediately there fell on him gloom and darkness, and going around he sought hand-guides.

12. Then the proconsul, who saw that which happened, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

13. പൌലൊസും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും പാഫൊസില്നിന്നു കപ്പല് നീക്കി, പംഫുല്യാദേശത്തിലെ പെര്ഗ്ഗെക്കു ചെന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ചു യോഹന്നാന് അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

13. Now those around Paul, having launched from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia. But John, having departed from them, returned to Jerusalem.

14. അവരോ പെര്ഗ്ഗയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പിസിദ്യാദേശത്തിലെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് എത്തി ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു ഇരുന്നു.

14. And they, having passed through from Perga, arrived at Antioch of Pisidia, and after entering into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.

15. ന്യായ പ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകങ്ങളും വായിച്ചുതീര്ന്നപ്പോള് പള്ളിപ്രമാണികള് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുസഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങകൂ ജനത്തോടു പ്രബോധനം വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് പറവിന് എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

15. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the synagogue rulers sent to them, saying, Men, brothers, if there is among you a word of exhortation for the people, speak.

16. And Paul having stood up, and having motioned with the hand, he said, Men, Israelites, and those who fear God, listen.

23. From this man's seed according to promise, God brought salvation to Israel,

28. And not having found one cause of death in him, they asked for Pilate to kill him.

29. And when they completed all the things written about him, having taken him down from the tree, they laid him in a tomb.

30. ദൈവമോ അവനെ മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു;

30. But God raised him from the dead,

31. അവന് തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഗലീലയില്നിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നവര്ക്കും ഏറിയ ദിവസം പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; അവര് ഇപ്പോള് ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

31. who was seen for more days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are witnesses of him to the people.

39. And from all things of which ye could not be make righteous by the Law of Moses, in this man every man who believes is made righteous.

40. “ഹേ നിന്ദക്കാരേ, നോക്കുവിന് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു നശിച്ചുപോകുവിന് . നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലത്തു ഞാന് ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത പ്രവൃത്തി തന്നേ”

40. Watch therefore, lest that which is spoken in the prophets should come upon you:

41. Behold, ye scoffers, and wonder, and perish, because I work a work in your days, which ye would, no, not believe, if some man should fully narrate it to you.

42. അവര് പള്ളിവിട്ടു പോകുമ്പോള് പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഈ വചനം തങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു അവര് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

42. And as they went out from the synagogue of the Jews, the Gentiles urged that these sayings be spoken to them the next Sabbath.

43. പള്ളി പിരിഞ്ഞശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും ഭക്തിയുള്ള യെഹൂദമതാനുസാരികളിലും പലര് പൌലൊസിനെയും ബര്ന്നാബാസിനെയും അനുഗമിച്ചു; അവര് അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവ കൃപയില് നിലനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു.

43. Now after the synagogue was dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, while conversing, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44. പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഏകദേശം പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് വന്നു കൂടി.

44. And on the coming Sabbath almost all the city was assembled to hear the word of God.

45. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടു അസൂയ നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദുഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പൌലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിന്നു എതിര് പറഞ്ഞു.

45. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled of envy, and contradicted the things spoken by Paul, contradicting and slandering.

46. അപ്പോള് പൌലൊസും ബര്ന്നബാസും ധൈര്യംപൂണ്ടുദൈവവചനം ആദ്യം നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത് ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ തള്ളി നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ നിത്യജീവന്നു അയോഗ്യര് എന്നു വിധിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാല് ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് ജാതികളിലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

46. But having spoken boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken first to you, but since ye thrust it away, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

47. “നീ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളവും രക്ഷ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ വെളിച്ചമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു കര്ത്താവു ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. For so the Lord has commanded us: I have placed thee for a light of Gentiles, for thee to be for salvation as far as the extremity of the earth.

48. ജാതികള് ഇതു കേട്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു ദൈവവചനത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി, നിത്യജീവന്നായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

48. And hearing this, the Gentiles were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as were appointed for eternal life believed.

49. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ആ നാട്ടില് എങ്ങും വ്യാപിച്ചു.

49. And the word of the Lord was spread abroad through the whole region.

50. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ഭക്തിയുള്ള മാന്യ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പട്ടണത്തിലെ പ്രധാനികളെയും ഇളക്കി പൌലൊസിന്റെയും ബര്ന്നബാസിന്റെയും നേരെ ഉപദ്രവമുണ്ടാക്കി അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിരുകളില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

50. But the Jews incited the religious women, and the prominent women, and the principle men of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas. And they threw them out of their boundaries.

51. എന്നാല് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കാലിലെ പൊടി അവരുടെ നേരെ തട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു ഇക്കോന്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

51. But after shaking off the dust of their feet against them, they came to Iconium.

52. And the disciples were filled with joy and Holy Spirit.
