1. അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലെ സഭയില് ബര്ന്നബാസ്, നീഗര് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോന് , കുറേനക്കാരനായ ലൂക്യൊസ്, ഇട പ്രഭുവമായ ഹെരോദാവോടുകൂടെ വളര്ന്ന മനായേന് , ശൌല് എന്നീ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. Now there were some in the church being in Antioch [who were] prophets and teachers: Both Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2. അവര് കര്ത്താവിനെ ആരാധിച്ചും ഉപവസിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്ഞാന് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശെഘിനെയും വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വേലെക്കായിട്ടു അവരെ എനിക്കു വേര്തിരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Now as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them.'

3. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഉപവസിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു അവരുടെ മേല് കൈവെച്ചു അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

3. Then, fasting and praying, and laying their hands on them, they sent them away.

4. These two therefore, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

5. സലമീസില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ദൈവവചനം അറിയിച്ചു. യോഹന്നാന് അവര്ക്കും ഭൃത്യനായിട്ടു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And arriving in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant.

6. അവര് ദ്വീപില്കൂടി പാഫൊസ്വരെ ചെന്നപ്പോള് ബര്യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യെഹൂദനായി കള്ള പ്രവാചകനായോരു വിദ്വാനെ കണ്ടു.

6. And going across the island as far as Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus,

7. അവന് ബുദ്ധിമാനായ സെര്ഗ്ഗ്യൊസ് പൌലൊസ് എന്ന ദേശാധിപതിയോടു കൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശൌലിനെയും വരുത്തി ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

7. who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

8. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) resisted them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.

9. But Saul, who also is [called] Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and gazing intently at him,

10. [he] said, 'O full of all guile and all craft, [you] son of [the] devil, [you] enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

11. And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season.' And immediately a mistiness and darkness fell upon him, and going about, he sought someone to lead him by the hand.

12. Then when the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.

13. പൌലൊസും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും പാഫൊസില്നിന്നു കപ്പല് നീക്കി, പംഫുല്യാദേശത്തിലെ പെര്ഗ്ഗെക്കു ചെന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ചു യോഹന്നാന് അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

13. Now Paul and his companions put to sea from Paphos, and came to Perga of Pamphylia; But John deserted them and returned to Jerusalem.

14. അവരോ പെര്ഗ്ഗയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പിസിദ്യാദേശത്തിലെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് എത്തി ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു ഇരുന്നു.

14. But they went from Perga, and arrived in Antioch of Pisidia, and entering into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.

15. ന്യായ പ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകങ്ങളും വായിച്ചുതീര്ന്നപ്പോള് പള്ളിപ്രമാണികള് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുസഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങകൂ ജനത്തോടു പ്രബോധനം വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് പറവിന് എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

15. Now after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue leaders sent to them, saying, 'Men and brothers, if there is by you a word of encouragement for the people, speak.'

16. And Paul, arising and motioning with his hand, said, 'Men, Israelites, and you who fear God, listen:

17. The God of this people chose our fathers, and lifting up the people during their sojourn in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm brought them out from it.

21. And then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

22. And removing him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom He also said bearing witness, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, [to be] a man in accordance with My [own] heart, who will do all My will.'

23. God, from the seed of this [man], according to the promise, has brought to Israel salvation,

24. after John had first proclaimed before His coming, the baptism of repentance to Israel.

25. Now as John was finishing his course, he said, 'Whom do you suppose me to be? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandal of whose feet I am not worthy to loosen.'

28. മരണത്തിന്നു ഒരു ഹേതുവും കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടും അവനെ കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു അവര് പീലാത്തൊസിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

28. And finding no cause for death, they asked Pilate that He be executed.

29. അവനെക്കുറിച്ചിു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് ഒക്കെയും തികെച്ചശേഷം അവര് അവനെ മരത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറക്കി ഒരു കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചു.

29. And when they finished all the things having been written about Him, taking Him down from the tree, they put [Him] in a tomb.

30. ദൈവമോ അവനെ മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു;

30. But God raised Him from the dead;

31. അവന് തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഗലീലയില്നിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നവര്ക്കും ഏറിയ ദിവസം പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; അവര് ഇപ്പോള് ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

31. who appeared for [many] days more to those going up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people.

39. and from all things from which you could not (by the Law of Moses) be justified, by Him everyone that believes is justified.

40. “ഹേ നിന്ദക്കാരേ, നോക്കുവിന് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു നശിച്ചുപോകുവിന് . നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലത്തു ഞാന് ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത പ്രവൃത്തി തന്നേ”

40. Watch therefore, lest there come upon you that which was spoken of in the prophets:

41. എന്നു പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളില് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

41. Behold, you despisers, and marvel and perish! For I will work a work in your days which you will by no means believe, though one were to declare it to you.''

42. അവര് പള്ളിവിട്ടു പോകുമ്പോള് പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഈ വചനം തങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു അവര് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

42. Now as the Jews were going out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.

43. പള്ളി പിരിഞ്ഞശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും ഭക്തിയുള്ള യെഹൂദമതാനുസാരികളിലും പലര് പൌലൊസിനെയും ബര്ന്നാബാസിനെയും അനുഗമിച്ചു; അവര് അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവ കൃപയില് നിലനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു.

43. And when the synagogue service was broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking [to them], persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44. പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഏകദേശം പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് വന്നു കൂടി.

44. On the coming Sabbath, almost all the city was assembled to hear the word of God.

45. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടു അസൂയ നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദുഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പൌലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിന്നു എതിര് പറഞ്ഞു.

45. And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46. അപ്പോള് പൌലൊസും ബര്ന്നബാസും ധൈര്യംപൂണ്ടുദൈവവചനം ആദ്യം നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത് ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ തള്ളി നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ നിത്യജീവന്നു അയോഗ്യര് എന്നു വിധിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാല് ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് ജാതികളിലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

46. But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, 'It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47. “നീ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളവും രക്ഷ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ വെളിച്ചമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു കര്ത്താവു ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. For so the Lord has commanded us: 'I have set you to be a light of the nations, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth.''

48. ജാതികള് ഇതു കേട്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു ദൈവവചനത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി, നിത്യജീവന്നായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

48. Now when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

49. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ആ നാട്ടില് എങ്ങും വ്യാപിച്ചു.

49. And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.

50. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ഭക്തിയുള്ള മാന്യ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പട്ടണത്തിലെ പ്രധാനികളെയും ഇളക്കി പൌലൊസിന്റെയും ബര്ന്നബാസിന്റെയും നേരെ ഉപദ്രവമുണ്ടാക്കി അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിരുകളില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

50. But the Jews incited the devout and prominent women and the leading [men] of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out from their borders.

51. എന്നാല് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കാലിലെ പൊടി അവരുടെ നേരെ തട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു ഇക്കോന്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

51. But shaking off the dust from their feet against them, they went to Iconium.

52. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സന്തോഷവും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവും നിറഞ്ഞവരായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

52. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
