1. ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും ശ്രേഷ്ഠാധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കു കീഴടങ്ങട്ടെ. ദൈവത്താലല്ലാതെ ഒരധികാരവുമില്ലല്ലോ; ഉള്ള അധികാരങ്ങളോ ദൈവത്താല് നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
സദൃശ്യവാക്യങ്ങൾ 8:15

1. LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment. [Prov. 8:15.]

2. ആകയാല് അധികാരത്തോടു മറുക്കുന്നവന് ദൈവ വ്യവസ്ഥയോടു മറുക്കുന്നു. മറുക്കുന്നവരോ ശിക്ഷാവിധി പ്രാപിക്കും.

2. Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].

3. വാഴുന്നവര് സല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കല്ല ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കത്രേ ഭയങ്കരം. അധികാരസ്ഥനെ ഭയപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നുവോ? നന്മചെയ്ക; എന്നാല് അവനോടു പുകഴ്ച ലഭിക്കും.

3. For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.

4. നിന്റെ നന്മെക്കായിട്ടല്ലോ അവന് ദൈവശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനായിരിക്കുന്നതു; നീ തിന്മ ചെയ്താലോ ഭയപ്പെടുക; വെറുതെ അല്ല അവന് വാള് വഹിക്കുന്നതു; അവന് ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവന്റെ ശിക്ഷെക്കായി പ്രതികാരിയായ ദൈവശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് തന്നേ.

4. For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു ശിക്ഷയെ മാത്രമല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷിയെയും വിചാരിച്ചു കീഴടങ്ങുക ആവശ്യം.

5. Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.

6. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് നികുതിയും കൊടുക്കുന്നു. അവര് ദൈവശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരും ആ കാര്യം തന്നേ നോക്കുന്നവരുമാകുന്നു.

6. For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.

7. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും കടമായുള്ളതു കൊടുപ്പിന് ; നികുതി കൊടുക്കേണ്ടവന്നു നികുതി; ചുങ്കം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടവന്നു ചുങ്കം; ഭയം കാണിക്കേണ്ടവന്നു ഭയം; മാനം കാണിക്കേണ്ടവന്നു മാനം.

7. Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

8. അന്യോന്യം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതു അല്ലാതെ ആരോടും ഒന്നും കടമ്പെട്ടിരിക്കരുതു; അന്യനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവന് ന്യായപ്രമാണം നിവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

8. Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one's fellowmen, meeting all its requirements].

9. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, കുല ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, മോഹിക്കരുതു, എന്നുള്ളതും മറ്റു ഏതു കല്പനയും കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നീ വചനത്തില് സംക്ഷേപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. The commandments, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet (have an evil desire), and any other commandment, are summed up in the single command, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. [Exod. 20:13-17; Lev. 19:18.]

10. സ്നേഹം കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നില്ല; ആകയാല് സ്നേഹം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ നിവൃത്തി തന്നേ.

10. Love does no wrong to one's neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore love meets all the requirements and is the fulfilling of the Law.

11. ഇതു ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു ഉറക്കത്തില്നിന്നു ഉണരുവാന് നാഴിക വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് സമയത്തെ അറികയാല് തന്നേ; നാം വിശ്വസിച്ച സമയത്തെക്കാള് രക്ഷ ഇപ്പോള് നമുക്കു അധികം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).

12. രാത്രി കഴിവാറായി പകല് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു അതുകൊണ്ടു നാം ഇരുട്ടിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ ആയുധവര്ഗ്ഗം ധരിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

12. The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light.

13. പകല്സമയത്തു എന്നപോലെ നാം മര്യാദയായി നടക്ക; വെറിക്കൂത്തുകളിലും മദ്യപാനങ്ങളിലുമല്ല, ശയനമോഹങ്ങളിലും ദുഷ്കാമങ്ങളിലുമല്ല, പിണക്കത്തിലും അസൂയയിലുമല്ല.

13. Let us live and conduct ourselves honorably and becomingly as in the [open light of] day, not in reveling (carousing) and drunkenness, not in immorality and debauchery (sensuality and licentiousness), not in quarreling and jealousy.

14. കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെത്തന്നേ ധരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് . മോഹങ്ങള് ജനിക്കുമാറു ജഡത്തിന്നായി ചിന്തിക്കരുതു.

14. But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts).
