1. ആകയാല് നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? കൃപ പെരുകേണ്ടതിന്നു പാപം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്ക എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു.

1. What shall we say then? shall we continue in sin, that there may be abundance of grace?

2. പാപസംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവരായ നാം ഇനി അതില് ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

2. God forbid. How shall we that are dead as touching sin live any longer therein?

3. അല്ല, യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു ചേരുവാന് സ്നാനം ഏറ്റവരായ നാം എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ മരണത്തില് പങ്കാളികളാകുവാന് സ്നാനം ഏറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

3. Remember ye not that all we which are baptised in the name of Christ Jesu, are baptised to die with him?

4. അങ്ങനെ നാം അവന്റെ മരണത്തില് പങ്കാളികളായിത്തീര്ന്നു സ്നാനത്താല് അവനോടു കൂടെ കുഴിച്ചിടപ്പെട്ടു; ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ മഹിമയാല് ജീവിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റതു പോലെ നാമും ജീവന്റെ പുതുക്കത്തില് നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

4. We are buried with him by baptism for to die: That (likewise) as Christ was raised up from death by the glory of the father: even so we also should walk in a new life.

5. അവന്റെ മരണത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തോടു നാം ഏകീഭവിച്ചവരായെങ്കില് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശയത്തോടും ഏകീഭവിക്കും.

5. For if we be graft in death like unto him: even so must we be in the resurrection.

6. നാം ഇനി പാപത്തിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം പാപശരീരത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു നമ്മുടെ പഴയ മനുഷ്യന് അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.

6. This we must remember, that our old man is crucified with him also, that the body of sin might utterly be destroyed,(sinful body might cease) that henceforth we should not be servants of sin.(serve sin no more)

7. അങ്ങനെ മരിച്ചവന് പാപത്തില് നിന്നു മോചനം പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. For he that is dead, is justified from sin.

8. നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു കൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കില് അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

8. Wherefore if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall live with him:

9. ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കയാല് ഇനി മരിക്കയില്ല; മരണത്തിന്നു അവന്റെ മേല് ഇനി കര്ത്തൃത്വമില്ല എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

9. remembering that Christ once raised from death, dieth no more. Death hath no more power over him.

10. അവന് മരിച്ചതു പാപസംബന്ധമായി ഒരിക്കലായിട്ടു മരിച്ചു; അവന് ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

10. For as touching that he died, he died as concerning sin once. And as touching that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11. അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും പാപ സംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവര് എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നവര് എന്നും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ എണ്ണുവിന് .

11. Likewise imagine ye also, that ye are dead concerning sin: but are alive unto God thorow Jesus Christ our Lord.

12. ആകയാല് പാപം നിങ്ങളുടെ മര്ത്യശരീരത്തില് അതിന്റെ മോഹങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുമാറു ഇനി വാഴരുതു,

12. Let not sin reign therefore in your mortal bodies, that ye should thereunto obey in the lusts of it.

13. നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അനീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായി പാപത്തിന്നു സമര്പ്പിക്കയും അരുതു. നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മരിച്ചിട്ടു ജീവിക്കുന്നവരായും നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ നീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സമര്പ്പിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

13. Neither give ye your members as instruments(weapons) of unrighteousness unto sin: But give yourselves unto God, as they that are alive from death. And give your members as instruments(weapons) of righteousness unto God.

14. നിങ്ങള് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല, കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാല് പാപം നിങ്ങളില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുകയില്ലല്ലോ.

14. Sin shall not have power over you.(Let not sin have power over you) For ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15. എന്നാല് എന്തു? ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാല് നാം പാപം ചെയ്ക എന്നോ? ഒരു നാളും അരുതു.

15. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law: but under grace? God forbid.

16. നിങ്ങള് ദാസന്മാരായി അനുസരിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സമര്പ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ദാസന്മാര് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഒന്നുകില് മരണത്തിന്നായി പാപത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്, അല്ലെങ്കില് നീതിക്കായി അനുസരണത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര് തന്നേ.

16. Remember ye not how that to whomsoever ye commit yourselves as servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey: whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് പാപത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച ഉപദേശരൂപത്തെ ഹൃദയപൂര്വ്വം അനുസരിച്ചു

17. God be thanked. (,that though) Ye were once the servants of sin: But now (ye) have (yet) obeyed with your hearts(heart) unto the form of doctrine where unto ye were delivered.

18. പാപത്തില്നിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലഭിച്ചു നീതിക്കു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം.

18. Ye are then made free from sin, and are become the servants of righteousness.

19. നിങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിന്റെ ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ഞാന് മാനുഷരീതിയില് പറയുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അധര്മ്മത്തിന്നായി അശുദ്ധിക്കും അധര്മ്മത്തിന്നും അടിമകളാക്കി സമര്പ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നായി നീതിക്കു അടിമകളാക്കി സമര്പ്പിപ്പിന് .

19. I will speak grossly because of the infirmity(weakness) of your flesh. As ye have given your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, from iniquity unto iniquity: even so now give your members servants unto(to the service of) righteousness, that ye may be sanctified.(holy)

20. നിങ്ങള് പാപത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരുന്നപ്പോള് നീതിയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു സ്വതന്ത്രരായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. For when ye were servants of sin, ye were not under righteousness.

21. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അന്നു എന്തൊരു ഫലം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു? ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ലജ്ജ തോന്നുന്നതു തന്നേ. അതിന്റെ അവസാനം മരണമല്ലോ.

21. What fruit had ye then in those things, where of ye are now ashamed. For the end of those things is death.

22. എന്നാല് ഇപ്പോള് പാപത്തില്നിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരിക്കയാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഫലം വിശുദ്ധീകരണവും അതിന്റെ അന്തം നിത്യജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

22. But now are ye delivered(be free) from sin, and made(become) the servants of God, and have your fruit that ye should be sanctified,(holy) and the end everlasting life.

23. പാപത്തിന്റെ ശമ്പളം മരണമത്രേ; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപാവരമോ നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില് നിത്യജീവന് തന്നേ.

23. For the reward of sin is death: but eternal life is the gift of God, thorow Jesus Christ our Lord.
