1. അവകാശി സര്വ്വത്തിന്നും യജമാനന് എങ്കിലും ശിശുവായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം ദാസനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവനല്ല,

1. And I say that the heir as long as he is a child differeth not from a servant, though he be lord of all,(all the goods)

2. പിതാവു നിശ്ചയിച്ച അവധിയോളം രക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും ഗൃഹവിചാരകന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴ്പെട്ടവനത്രേ എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുന്നു.

2. but is under tutors and governors, until the time appointed of the father.

3. അതുപോലെ നാമും ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരുന്നപ്പോള് ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദി പാഠങ്ങളിന് കീഴ് അടിമപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

3. Even so we, as long as we were children, were in bondage under the ordinances of the world:(under the outward traditions)

4. എന്നാല് കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണതവന്നപ്പോള് ദൈവം തന്റെ പുത്രനെ സ്ത്രീയില്നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവനായി ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴ് ജനിച്ചവനായി നിയോഗിച്ചയച്ചതു

4. But when the time was full come,(fulfilled) God sent his son born of a woman, and made bond unto(put under) the law,

5. അവന് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവരെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിട്ടു നാം പുത്രത്വം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

5. to redeem them which were under the law: that we thorow election should(might) receive the inheritance that belongeth unto the natural sons.

6. നിങ്ങള് മക്കള് ആകകൊണ്ടു അബ്ബാ പിതാവേ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്ന സ്വപുത്രന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ ദൈവം നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് അയച്ചു.

6. Because ye are sons,(children) God hath sent the spirit of his son into our hearts, which crieth Abba father.(dear father)

7. അങ്ങനെ നീ ഇനി ദാസനല്ല പുത്രനത്രെ; പുത്രനെങ്കിലോ ദൈവഹിതത്താല് അവകാശിയും ആകുന്നു.

7. Wherefore now art thou not a servant, but a son. If thou be the son, thou art also the heir of God thorow Christ.

8. എന്നാല് അന്നു നിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തെ അറിയാതെ സ്വഭാവത്താല് ദൈവങ്ങളല്ലാത്തവര്ക്കും അടിമപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

8. Notwithstanding, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them, which by nature were not(no) goddes:

9. ഇപ്പോഴോ ദൈവത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞും വിശേഷാല് ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ അറിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള് പിന്നെയും ബലഹീനവും ദരിദ്രവുമായ ആദിപാഠങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവേക്കു പുതുതായി അടിമപ്പെടുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

9. But now seeing ye know God (yea rather are known of God) how is it that ye turn again unto the weak and beggarly ceremonies,(traditions) whereunto again ye desire afresh to be in bondage?

10. നിങ്ങള് ദിവസങ്ങളും മാസങ്ങളും കാലങ്ങളും ആണ്ടുകളും പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

10. Ye observe the days, and months, and times, and years.

11. ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചതു വെറുതെയായി എന്നു ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

11. I (am in) fear of you, lest I have bestowed on you labour in vain.

12. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളേപ്പോലെ ആകയാല് നിങ്ങളും എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകുവാന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങള് എന്നോടു ഒരു അന്യായവും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

12. Brethren I beseech you, be ye as I am: for I am as ye are. Ye have not hurt me. (at all)

13. ഞാന് ശരീരത്തിലെ ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ഒന്നാമതു നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാന് സംഗതിവന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

13. Ye know well how that thorow infirmity of(in weakness after) the flesh, I preached the gospel(gospell) unto you at the first:

14. എന്റെ ശരീരസംബന്ധമായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായ പരീക്ഷനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങള് നിന്ദയോ വെറുപ്പോ കാണിക്കാതെ ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ , ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തതു.

14. and my temptation which I suffered by reason of my flesh, ye despised not, neither abhorred: but received me as an angel of God: yea as(yea even as) Christ Jesus.

15. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗ്യപ്രശംസ എവിടെ? കഴിയും എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണു ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എനിക്കു തരുമായിരുന്നു എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് സാക്ഷി.

15. How happy were ye then? for I bear you record that if it had been possible, ye would have digged(plucked) out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

16. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളോടു സത്യം പറകകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ശത്രുവായിപ്പോയോ?

16. Am I so greatly(therefore) become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

17. അവര് നിങ്ങളെക്കറിച്ചു എരിവു കാണിക്കുന്നതു ഗുണത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല; നിങ്ങളും അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു എരിവു കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് നിങ്ങളെ പുറത്തിട്ടു അടെച്ചുകളവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കയത്രെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

17. They are jealous over you amiss. Yea they intend to exclude you(they would make you to fall back) that ye should(might) be fervent to them ward.

18. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് മാത്രമല്ല എല്ലായ്പോഴും നല്ല കാര്യത്തില് എരിവു കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു.

18. It is good always to be fervent, so it be(so that it be alway) in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

19. ക്രിസ്തു നിങ്ങളില് ഉരുവാകുവോളം ഞാന് പിന്നെയും പ്രസവവേദനപ്പെടുന്നവരായ എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ,

19. My little children (of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be fashioned in you)

20. ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് ഇരുന്നു എന്റെ ശബ്ദം മാറ്റുവന് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഷമിക്കുന്നു.

20. I would I were with you now, and could change my voice, for I stand in a doubt of you.

21. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴിരിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള് ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

21. Tell me ye that desire to be(wylbe) under the law: have ye not heard of the law?

22. എന്നോടു പറവിന് . അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഒരുവന് ദാസി പ്രസവിച്ചവന് , ഒരുവന് സ്വതന്ത്ര പ്രസവിച്ചവന് എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. For it is written that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a free woman.

23. ദാസിയുടെ മകന് ജഡപ്രകാരവും സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മകനോ വാഗ്ദത്തത്താലും ജനിച്ചിരുന്നു.

23. Yea and he which was of the bondwoman, was born after the flesh: but he which was of the freewoman, was born by promise.

24. ഇതു സാദൃശ്യമാകുന്നു. ഈ സ്ത്രീകള് രണ്ടു നിയമങ്ങള് അത്രേ; ഒന്നു സീനായ്മലയില്നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി അടിമകളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഹാഗര്.

24. Which things betoken mystery.(These words betonken somewhat) For these women are two testaments, the one from the mount Sina, which gendreth unto bondage, which is Agar.

25. ഹാഗര് എന്നുതു അറബിദേശത്തു സീനായ്മലയെക്കുറിക്കുന്നു. അതു ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നു; അതു തന്റെ മക്കളോടുകൂടെ അടിമയിലല്ലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു.

25. (For mount Sinai is called Agar in Arabia, and bordereth upon(reacheth unto) the city which is now Jerusalem) and is in bondage with her children.

26. മീതെയുള്ള യെരൂശലേമോ സ്വതന്ത്രയാകുന്നു. അവള് തന്നേ നമ്മുടെ അമ്മ.

26. But Jerusalem, which is above, is free:(the free woman) which is the mother of us all.

27. “പ്രസവിക്കാത്ത മച്ചിയേ, ആനന്ദിക്ക; നോവുകിട്ടാത്തവളേ, പൊട്ടി ആര്ക്കുംക; ഏകാകിനിയുടെ മക്കള് ഭര്ത്താവുള്ളവളുടെ മക്കളെക്കാള് അധികം” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
യെശയ്യാ 54:1

27. For it is written: rejoice thou barren, that bearest no children: break forth and cry, thou that travailest not. For the desolate hath many more children, than she which hath an husband.

28. നാമോ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെപ്പോലെ വാഗ്ദത്തത്താല് ജനിച്ച മക്കള് ആകുന്നു.

28. Brethren we are after the manner of Isaac children of promise:(As for us (brethren) we are the children of Isaac according to the promise)

29. എന്നാല് അന്നു ജഡപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ചവന് ആത്മപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ചവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇന്നു കാണുന്നു.
ഉല്പത്തി 21:9

29. But as then he that was born carnally,(after the flesh) persecuted him that was born spiritually;(after the spirit) Even so is it now.

30. തിരുവെഴുത്തോ എന്തുപറയുന്നു ദാസിയെയും മകനെയും പുറത്താക്കിക്കളക; ദാസിയുടെ മകന് സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മകനോടുകൂടെ അവകാശി ആകയില്ല.

30. Nevertheless what saith the scripture: Cast(put) a way the bondwoman and her son. For the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.

31. അങ്ങനെ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നാം ദാസിയുടെ മക്കളല്ല സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മക്കളത്രേ.

31. So then brethren we are not children of the bondwoman:(bond maid) but of the freewoman.
