1. Elisha the prophet summoned one of the guild prophets and said to him, 'Prepare for traveling, take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramot-Gil'ad.

2. When you get there, look for Yehu the son of Y'hoshafat, the son of Nimshi. Enter, have him step away from his companions, and take him to an inside room.

3. പിന്നെ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചുഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു വാതില് തുറന്നു താമസിക്കാതെ ഔടിപ്പോരിക.

3. Then take the flask of oil, pour it on his head, and say, 'This is what ADONAI says: 'I have anointed you king over Isra'el.'' After that, open the door; and get away from there as fast as you can.'

4. അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകനായ ആ യൌവനക്കാരന് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

4. So the young prophet left for Ramot-Gil'ad.

6. Yehu got up and went into the house. Then the prophet poured the oil on his head and said to him, 'This is what ADONAI the God of Isra'el says: 'I have anointed you king over the people of ADONAI, over Isra'el.

7. You will attack the house of Ach'av your master, so that I can avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and of all the servants of ADONAI, blood shed by Izevel.

8. The entire house of Ach'av will perish; I will cut off from Ach'av every male, whether a slave or free in Isra'el.

9. I will make the house of Ach'av like the house of Yarov'am the son of N'vat and like the house of Ba'sha the son of Achiyah.

10. ഈസേബെലിനെ യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് തിന്നുകളയും; അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല. പിന്നെ അവന് വാതില് തുറന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

10. Moreover, the dogs will eat Izevel in the dumping-ground of Yizre'el, and there will be no one to bury her.'' Then he opened the door and fled.

11. യേഹൂതന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുഎന്താകുന്നു വിശേഷം? ആ ഭ്രാന്തന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നതെന്തിന്നു? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷനെയും അവന് പറഞ്ഞകാര്യത്തെയും അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Yehu returned to the servants of his lord, and one of them said to him, 'Is everything all right? Why did this [meshugga] come to you?' He answered them, 'You know the kind and how they babble.'

12. They said, 'You're being evasive. Come on, tell us the truth.' Then he said, 'This is exactly what he said to me and how he said it: 'Here is what ADONAI says: 'I have anointed you king over Isra'el.'''

13. ഉടനെ അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു കോവണിപ്പടികളിന്മേല് അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വിരിച്ചു. കാഹളം ഊതിയേഹൂ രാജാവായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. At this, they hurried each one to take his cloak and put it under Yehu at the top of the stairs. Then they blew the [shofar] and proclaimed, 'Yehu is king!'

14. Yehu the son of Y'hoshafat, the son of Nimshi, formed a conspiracy against Yoram. (At the time, Yoram was guarding Ramot-Gil'ad, he and all Isra'el, because of Haza'el king of Aram;

15. അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനോടുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തില് അരാമ്യര് തനിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ച മുറിവുകള്ക്കു യിസ്രെയേലില്വെച്ചു ചികിത്സചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യോരാംരാജാവു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് യേഹൂനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില് യിസ്രെയേലില് ചെന്നു ഇതു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആരും പട്ടണം വിട്ടുപോകാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. but Yoram himself had returned to Yizre'el to recover from the wounds Aram had inflicted on him when fighting Haza'el king of Aram.) 'If you agree,' said Yehu, 'then don't allow anyone to leave town and take the news to Yizre'el.'

16. അങ്ങനെ യേഹൂ രഥം കയറി യിസ്രെയേലിലേക്കു പോയി; യോരാം അവിടെ കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. യോരാമിനെ കാണ്മാന് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും അവിടെ വന്നിരുന്നു.

16. So Yehu, riding in a chariot, went to Yizre'el, for Yoram was laid up there. Achazyah king of Y'hudah had come down to visit Yoram.

17. യിസ്രെയേലിലെ ഗോപുരമുകളില് ഒരു കാവല്ക്കാരന് നിന്നിരുന്നു; അവന് യേവഹൂവിന്റെ കൂട്ടം വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഞാന് ഒരു കൂട്ടത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് യോരാംനീ ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നേരെ അയക്കേണം; അവന് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

17. The lookout standing on the watchtower in Yizre'el saw Yehu's troops approaching and said, 'I see some troops coming.' Yoram said, 'Have a horseman go to meet him and ask, 'Are you coming in peace?'

18. അങ്ങനെ ഒരുത്തന് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം കൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് ദൂതന് അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടും മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

18. So a man on horseback went to meet him and said, 'The king asks if you are coming in peace.' Yehu answered, 'Peace? What business is that of yours? Turn around, and get behind me!' The watchman reported, 'The messenger reached them, but he isn't coming back.'

19. അവന് മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു അയച്ചു; അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനംകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു.

19. So he sent out a second man on horseback, who, on coming to him, said, 'The king asks if you are coming in peace.' Yehu answered, 'Peace? What business is that of yours? Turn around, and get behind me!'

20. അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; ആ ഔടിക്കുന്നതു നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹൂ ഔടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഭ്രന്തനപ്പോലെയല്ലോ അവന് ഔടിച്ചുവരുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. The watchman reported, 'He reached them, but he isn't coming back. Also, it looks like the driving of Yehu Nimshi's [[grand]]son- he's driving like a maniac!'

21. ഉടനെ യോരാംരഥം പൂട്ടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; രഥം പൂട്ടിയശേഷം യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവായ യോരാമും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും താന്താന്റെ രഥത്തില് കയറി യേഹൂവിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

21. Harness my chariot!' ordered Yoram. They got it ready. Then Yoram king of Isra'el and Achazyah king of Y'hudah, each in his chariot, went out to meet Yehu. They met him in the field of Navot the Yizre'eli.

22. യേഹൂവിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് യോരാംയേഹൂവേ, സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യേഹൂനിന്റെ അമ്മയായ ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പരസംഗവും ക്ഷുദ്രവും ഇത്ര അധികമായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എന്തു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. When Yoram saw Yehu he said, 'Are you coming in peace, Yehu?' He answered, 'Peace? With your mother Izevel continuing all her cult prostitution and witchcraft? What a question!'

23. അപ്പോള് യോരാം രഥം തിരിച്ചു ഔടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അഹസ്യാവോടുഅഹസ്യാവേ, ഇതു ദ്രോഹം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Yoram wheeled around and fled, shouting, 'Treachery, Achazyah!'

24. യേഹൂ വില്ലുകുലെച്ചു യോരാമിനെ ഭുജങ്ങളുടെ നടുവെ എയ്തു; അമ്പു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം തുളഞ്ഞു മറുപുറം കടന്നു; അവന് രഥത്തില് ചുരുണ്ടു വീണു.

24. Yehu drew his bow with all his strength and struck Yoram between the shoulder-blades; the arrow went through his heart, and he collapsed in his chariot.

25. യേഹൂ തന്റെ പടനായകനായ ബിദ്കാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅവനെ എടുത്തു യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; ഞാനും നീയും ഒരുമിച്ചു അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ കുതിരയേറി പോകുമ്പോള്

25. Pick him up,' said Yehu to Bidkar his servant, 'and throw him into the field of Navot the Yizre'eli; for remember how, when you and I were riding together after Ach'av his father, ADONAI pronounced this sentence against him:

26. നാബോത്തിന്റെ രക്തവും അവന്റെ മക്കളുടെ രക്തവും ഇന്നലെ ഞാന് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഈ നിലത്തുവെച്ചു ഞാന് നിനക്കു പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ഈ അരുപ്പാടു അവന്നു വിരോധമായി ഉണ്ടായെന്നു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; അവനെ എടുത്തു യഹോവയുടെ വചന പ്രകാരം തന്നേ ഈ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക.

26. 'ADONAI says: 'Yesterday I saw the blood of Navot and the blood of his sons.' ADONAI also says: 'I will pay you back in this field.'' Therefore, pick him up; and throw him into the field, in keeping with what ADONAI said.'

27. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവു ഇതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉദ്യാനഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ വഴിയായി ഔടിപ്പോയി. യേഹൂ അവനെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നുഅവനെയും രഥത്തില് വെട്ടിക്കളവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവര് യിബ്ളെയാമിന്നു സമീപത്തുള്ള ഗൂര്കയറ്റത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ വെട്ടി; അവന് മെഗിദ്ദോവിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

27. But when Achazyah the king of Y'hudah saw this, he fled on the road past Beit-HaGan. Yehu pursued him and ordered, 'Strike him too in his chariot!' [[So they struck him]] at the Gur ascent, near Yivle'am. He fled to Megiddo, but there he died.

28. അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അവനെ രഥത്തില്വെച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കെണ്ടുപോയി ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

28. His servants carried him in a chariot to Yerushalayim and buried him in his tomb with his ancestors in the City of David.

29. ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ആയിരുന്നു അഹസ്യാവു യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായതു.

29. It was in the eleventh year of Yoram the son of Ach'av that Achazyah had begun his rule over Y'hudah.

30. യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേലില് വന്നതു ഈസേബെല് കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ കണ്ണില് മഷിയെഴുതി തലചീകി മിനുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു കിളിവാതില്ക്കല്കൂടി നോക്കി.

30. When Yehu reached Yizre'el, and Izevel heard of it, she put on eye make-up, fixed her hair and looked out the window.

31. യേഹൂ പടിവാതില് കടന്നപ്പോള് അവള്യജമാനനെ കൊന്നവനായ സിമ്രിക്കു സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

31. As Yehu came through the city gate, she asked, 'Are you here in peace, you Zimri, you murderer of your master?'

32. അവന് തന്റെ മുഖം കിളിവാതില്ക്കലേക്കു ഉയര്ത്തിആരുള്ളു എന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു? ആരുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാറെ രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാര് പുറത്തേക്കു നോക്കി.

32. Looking up at the window he said, 'Who is on my side? Who?' Two or three officers looked out toward him.

33. അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിടുവിന് എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു. ഉടനെ അവര് അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അവളുടെ രക്തം ചുവരിന്മേലും കുതിരകളിന്മേലും തെറിച്ചു; അവന് അവളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

33. He said, 'Throw her down!' So they threw her down. Some of her blood splashed onto the wall and the horses, and she was trampled underfoot.

34. അവന് ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തശേഷംആ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ ചെന്നു നോക്കി അടക്കം ചെയ്വിന് ; അവള് രാജകുമാരിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. He went in, ate and drank, and then said, 'Deal with this accursed woman- bury her, because she's a king's daughter.'

35. അവര് അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ചെന്നാറെ അവളുടെ തലമണ്ടയും കാലുകളും കൈപ്പത്തികളും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും കണ്ടില്ല.

35. They went to bury her but found no more of her than her skull, feet and hands.

36. അവര് മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവനോടു അതു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് അവന് യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് ഈസേബെലിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയും;

36. So they came back and told him. He said, 'This is what ADONAI said through his servant Eliyahu from Tishbe: 'In the field of Yizre'el the dogs will eat the flesh of Izevel;

37. അതു ഈസേബെല് എന്നു പറവാന് കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പിണം യിസ്രെയേല്പ്രദേശത്തു വയലിലെ ചാണകം പോലെ ആകും എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവ തിശ്ബ്യനായ എലീയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം തന്നേ ഇതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Izevel's corpse in the field of Yizre'el will be like dung on the ground, unrecognizable as Izevel.''
