1. അവന് തനിക്കു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അരമനകളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നായി ഒരു സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കി, അതിന്നു ഒരു കൂടാരവും അടിച്ചു.

1. And he made him houses, in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

2. അന്നു ദാവീദ്ലേവ്യരല്ലാതെ ആരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ചുമക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; അവരെയല്ലോ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ചുമപ്പാനും തനിക്കു എന്നും ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്വാനും യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Then, said David, None must carry the ark of God, save the Levites, for, of them, did Yahweh make choice, to bear the ark of Yahweh, and to attend it, unto times age-abiding.

3. അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം താന് അതിന്നു ഒരുക്കിയ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും യെരൂശലേമില് കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി.

3. So David convoked all Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, unto the place thereof, which he had prepared for it.

4. ദാവീദ് അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി.

4. And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites:

5. കെഹാത്യരില് പ്രധാനിയായ ഊരിയേലിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ നൂറ്റിരുപതുപേരെയും

5. Of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brethren, one hundred and twenty;

6. മെരാര്യ്യരില് പ്രധാനിയായ അസായാവെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ഇരുനൂറ്റിരുപതുപേരെയും

6. of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty;

7. ഗേര്ശോമ്യരില് പ്രധാനിയായ യോവേലിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ നൂറ്റിമുപ്പതുപേരെയും

7. of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brethren, one hundred and thirty;

8. of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred;

9. of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty;

10. ഉസ്സീയേല്യരില് പ്രധാനിയായ അമ്മീനാദാബിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ നൂറ്റിപ്പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെയും തന്നെ.

10. of the son of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve.

11. ദാവീദ് പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനെയും അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും ഊരീയേല്, അസായാവു, യോവേല്, ശെമയ്യാവു, എലീയേല്, അമ്മീനാദാബ് എന്നീ ലേവ്യരെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

11. Then called David, for Zadok and for Abiathar, the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah and Joel, Shemaiah and Eliel, and Amminadab;

12. നിങ്ങള് ലേവ്യരുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങളില് തലവന്മാരല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

12. and said unto them, Ye, are the chiefs of the fathers of the Levites, Hallow yourselves, ye and your brethren, so shall ye bring up the ark of Yahweh God of Israel, into the place I have prepared for it.

13. ആദിയില് നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ അതു ചെയ്യായ്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമുക്കു ഛേദം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നാം അവനെ നിയമപ്രകാരമല്ലല്ലോ അന്വേഷിച്ചതു.

13. Because, at the first, ye, did not bring it , Yahweh our God brake forth against us, because we sought him not in the appointed way.

14. അങ്ങനെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് തങ്ങളെ തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.

14. So the priests and the Levites hallowed themselves, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel.

15. ലേവ്യരുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകത്തെ അതിന്റെ തണ്ടുകള് തങ്ങളുടെ ചുമലില് കൊണ്ടു ചുമന്നു.

15. And the sons of the Levites bare the ark of God, just as Moses commanded, according to the word of Yahweh, on their shoulder, with the staves upon them.

16. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ലേവ്യരിലെ പ്രധാനന്മാരോടു വീണ, കിന്നരം, കൈത്താളം എന്നീ വാദ്യങ്ങളാല് സന്തോഷനാദം ഉച്ചത്തില് ധ്വനിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സംഗീതക്കാരായ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ നിറുത്തുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

16. And David spake to the chiefs of the Levites, to station their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, harps and lyres, and cymbals, sounding aloud at the lifting up of the voice, for joy.

17. അങ്ങനെ ലേവ്യര് യോവേലിന്റെ മകനായ ഹേമാനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് ബേരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ആസാഫിനെയും അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ മെരാര്യ്യരില് കൂശായാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഏഥാനെയും

17. So the Levites caused to stand, Heman son of Joel, and, of his brethren, Asaph, son of Berechiah, and, of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan, son of Kushaiah;

18. അവരോടുകൂടെ രണ്ടാം തരത്തിലെ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ സെഖര്യ്യാവു, ബേന് , യാസീയേല്, ശെമീരാമോത്ത്, യെഹീയേല്, ഉന്നി, എലീയാബ്, ബെനായാവു, മയസേയാവു, മത്ഥിഥ്യാവു, എലീഫെലേഹൂ, മിക്നേയാവു, ഔബേദ്-എദോം, യെയീയേല് എന്നിവരെ വാതില് കാവല്ക്കാരായും നിയമിച്ചു.

18. and, with them, their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mickneiah, and Obed-edom and Jeiel, the door-keepers.

19. And, the singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan, with cymbals of bronze, were to sound aloud;

20. സെഖര്യ്യാവു, അസീയേല്, ശെമീരാമോത്ത്, യെഹീയേല്, ഉന്നി, എലീയാബ്, മയസേയാവു, ബെനായാവു എന്നിവര് അലാമോത്ത് രാഗത്തില് വീണകളെയും ധ്വനിപ്പിപ്പാനും

20. and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah and Benaiah, with harps, over the trebles;

21. മത്ഥിഥ്യവു, എലീഫേലേഹൂ, മിക്നേയാവു, ഔബേദ്-എദോം, യെയീയേല്, അസസ്യാവു എന്നിവര് ശെമീനീത്ത് രാഗത്തില് കിന്നരം വായിപ്പാനും നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

21. and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel and Azaziah, with lyres over the bass, to take the lead.

22. വാഹകന്മാരായ ലേവ്യരില് പ്രധാനിയായ കെനന്യാവു പെട്ടകം വഹിക്കുന്നതിന്നു മേല്വിചാരകനായിരുന്നു; അവന് അതില് സമര്ത്ഥനായിരുന്നു.

22. And, Chenaniah the leader of the Levites, in the service, used to give instructions in the service, because skilful was he.

23. ബേരെഖ്യാവും എല്ക്കാനയും പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാര് ആയിരുന്നു.

23. And, Berechiah and Elkanah, were door-keepers to the ark.

24. ശെബന്യാവു, യോശാഫാത്ത്, നെഥനയേല്, അമാസായി, സെഖര്യ്യാവു, ബെനായാവു, എലെയാസാര് എന്നീ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതി; ഔബേദ്-എദോമും യെഹീയാവും പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാര് ആയിരുന്നു.

24. And, Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were blowing with the trumpets, before the ark of God, and, Obed-edom and Jehiah, were door-keepers, to the ark.

25. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേല്മൂപ്പന്മാരും സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാരും യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകം ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് പോയി.

25. Thus, it was, David and the elders of Israel, and the rulers of thousands, who were going, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, out of the house of Obed-edom, with joy.

26. യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ വാഹകന്മാരായ ലേവ്യര്ക്കും ദൈവം സഹായിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

26. And so it was that, when God helped the Levites, who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

27. ദാവീദ് പെട്ടകവാഹകന്മാരായ ലേവ്യര് ഒക്കെയും സംഗീതക്കാരും സംഗീതക്കാരോടുകൂടെ വാഹകപ്രമാണിയായ കെനന്യാവും ശണപടം കൊണ്ടുള്ള അങ്കി ധരിച്ചു; ദാവീദ് ശണം കൊണ്ടുള്ള എഫോദ് ധരിച്ചു.

27. Now, David, was wrapped about with a robe of byssus, with all the Levites who were bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the service rendered by the singers, but, upon David, was an ephod of white linen.

28. അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലൊക്കയും ആര്പ്പോടും കാഹളനാദത്തോടും തൂര്യ്യങ്ങളുടെയും കൈത്താളങ്ങളുടെയും ധ്വനിയോടുംകൂടി കിന്നരവും വീണയും വായിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

28. So, all Israel, were bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, with shouting, and with sound of the horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud, with harps, and lyres.

29. എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖള് കിളിവാതിലില്കൂടി നോക്കി, ദാവീദ് രാജാവു നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നതും പാടുന്നതും കണ്ടു ഹൃദയത്തില് അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു

29. And so it was that, when the ark of the covenant of Yahweh came in as far as the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul looked forth through the window, and saw King David, dancing and playing, that she despised him in her heart.
